Geez Shuu. You had so much hype built up around you throughout OG1 and 2, and then you give such a pitiful showing in OG Gaiden... You better be at least twice as awesome when you get reincarnated, or the fans'll really be pissed.

Shu is clearly related to Masaki Kihara. Or maybe he IS Masaki Kihara, who got tired of being a megalomaniac shithead and just moved on to professional trolling.
I'd like to think that Great Zeorymer is the larval form of Granzon, kinda like Mazinger Z to Zero or Shin Getter to Getter Emperor.

i remember Shu was the first major SRW boss i ever encoutner, the first to have his own theme
i had played through a decent part of Kyosuke's story and decided to play Ryusei's at the same time.. and then i tried to fight him thinking i stood a chance in antartica
..and then my theme didn't play.. nor did i do any damage...i didn't even survive...
my reaction quickly switched to the exact same as Ryusei's...

SRW on the GBA was my 1st of the series when I was a kid. Shu was one of my favorites, followed by that insane betrayal by Ingram. Loved it.

Neo Granzon is bigger but also that’s an oversight from lore designers, game designers have it as big as grungust at least
So glad someone caught this. After playing as Zeorymer and learning its abilities in SRW J, Granzon's pretty much equal in brokenness, and the design is a hilarious shout-out.
All the funnier considering 'Rymer was added to SRW at the request of *Zeorymer's* creators rather than Banpresto asking THEM first.

I first hear this theme music in Alpha. I was like "This hero is pretty strong! The theme song is awesome, but doesn't sound like a hero's song." Little did I know.
That moment when you realize the Granzon is shorter than most of the mechs you field and can still kick your ass.
Then it turns to neo and is now just as tall but can also mop the floor with keisar ephes
the song which can create a black hole immediately....

Granzon in @ 1 is probably the best playable version so far.
Shu Shirakawa, the pilot of Granzon/Neo Granzon, reminds me of the Sith Lords from Star Wars. Every hero can be fallen to the Dark Side like Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
I always thought, like: CRAAAAAP! when this guy entered the battlefield... It's not funny anymore how strong that guy is...

Nghia Dong Isn't that the mission where he is accompanied with 4 MP Valsion, all at LV99 and your own team starting with a -50 penalty to morale? That's the bad ending IIRC.
+Nghia Dong played in the SNES console where there is a bug for status which make your max dodge only 255
and the worst of it, after finally killed him... bad ending....
When he show up in as boss in @Gaiden story, i kinda freaked out, hell it was only 12th stage and I have to face him... fortunately Banpresto has nerve him down

개인적으로 제일 좋아하는 테마다. 웅장하고 세련된게 왠지 괜히 끝판왕이자 무적의 느낌이 들게 만듦.
왜그런건지 모르겠는데, 반프레스토에서 설정을 그냥 무적으로 만든거같다.
제발마리 제국, 인스펙터, 게스트 등, 슈우시라카와와 그랑존만 만나면 맥을 못춘다.

@WillRennar Actually, I heard that attack has no translation. It just means "the universe getting smaller", but yes, that is THE absolute last thing you want to see OR hear.
@BlueEyes274 Shu & his Granzon/Neo Granzon in SRW @4 (most likely will never come out since I just thought about it.) If this were to happen and Shu were as hard to beat like in Alpha Gaiden, then he'll be far harder than Kaeser Ephes in SRW @3. An opponent that regenerates every turn, 1-hit KO attacks for every range, god-like stats, serious & dangerous BGM and several insanely powerful Valsions that you must beat first, I would die because even if I got to him, I would be killed in one turn.

In Masoukisin 2, it also gives you access to the most powerful attack in the game, but only for a couple of turns.
Shuu the shadow hero, granzon is so powerful yet shuu doesn't abuse it, worthy!
If you're familiar with the plot of the first four SRW games and the Masou Kishin storylines, then you know what's going to happen.
@sushiman64 It wouldn't surprise me at all if parts of Obelisk's design were based off the Granzon (SRW started long before YGO), since they've based a number of cards off various Super Robots.

@superfishy444 Final Chapter of OG Gaiden was very, very difficult as I struggled to bring Shu's armor to 0. I used Sanger and Ratsel's Tornado Blade combo for the first attack. Damage (since I powered up the attack and increased both of their defense and luck) on Neo Granzon was 42,000, but he took 8,500 points out of Dygenguar's 11,800 Armor points but to no surprise Ratsel avoided the attack. For a boss that has 390,000 Armor points and is incredibly powerful, he's not easy to beat.
@superfishy444 He's too smug while he beats everyone else around him with nearly no effort at all. I remember playing this at my friends and as soon as Shu shows up and this theme starts playing I pray that he's not my enemy or I'm screwed for eternity on the level. When this played on the final chapter involving Shu and his Neo Granzon, I saved before and after each of my units attacked. Basically anyone who hears this song is screwed, allies and/or enemies know that not many can survive.
Thing is... He's probably not a "boss". In each occasion you fight him, he either goes easy on you, or has been merged with some "almighty" being... Given the way Shirukawa acts, he's probably trying to save humanity from these threats. And even nigh-omnipotent geniuses can fail. Lets hope for a stronger showing for Dr. Shirukawa in our next encounter!
I remember my first experience with Shu...it was in OG1 on GBA, and it was NOT pretty.
The moment I saw him 1-shot the Shirogane, I was like "okay, no way do I need to beat this guy right now." However, I was still unsure of how good his defense was, so I (like the noob-strudel I was at the time) decided to "test the waters" with an Alert-applied strike from Aya. It was then that I realized my critical error: Alert dodges one ATTACK, not one turn.
Don't fight it. Accept it. It's over. No where to run no where to hide baby. your dead. just give up :D
@Akoltin It's sometime in the SRW OGG levels when you're fighting the Jetz Reguisser along with Axel and Alfimi (Einst) plus you get some Wendegos.
Masaki won thank for his mech, not himself. The Cybuster/Psybaster/Psybuster (whatever) has possession mode that once able to use it, considering cheat god (you know you're awesome when you could rewrite the goddamm reality itself. Even if you could die by doing so)
One of my fav, the over power, over kill destruction feels, if added devil gundam pilot's evil laughs, it be damn epic... Try it bro, edit the track with that evil laughs.

well... i have my doubts concerning it either will be "Asakim" Because Shu's Illegitimate Son "Inference" is also in the housing...and he might be less scarier then Granzon but hold reason that his Sapientia is also a menace...
@Samuraiedge2 Well I don't know a whole lot of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, but I know there's one set of them that can fuse into one really big monster that's based off of GaoGaiGar. I'd have to look around for its name,though.
I actually got VERY lucky the first time I fought Shu. He attacked Latooni (I think, it's been a while) and she dodged the attack and when she attacked not only did she hit, she got a crit on him and very nearly killed him O_o'

there is an battle image between cybuster and Granzon. also the last one is shoting black hole cannon. followed by upside down misaki distorted image.
I remember when I first meet Shu in SRW4, he freak me out by spaming Sure-hit, Iron-Wall, Flash, and Accelerate in every-fukking-turn. And his attack could easy 1-hit kill almost every mechs, to make it worse the bastard could move twice per turn, and sometime for adding the fun he will throw in some MAP attack.
Don't worry Azureman, now that Masoukishin is out again on DS, Shuu is a badass once more.

It'd be a pretty neat concept, but it'd also be kinda weird to them attacking together because the robots' styles are so different, so to speak.

@superfishy444 To the fact that Shu doesn't regenerize his Neo Granzon's Armor Points as often is one fact, the other is that Neo Granzon's power and defense isn't as destructive as it originally was intended to be. Given that according to Neo Granzon's power level, it can destroy multiple enemies without being damaged but in OG Gaiden he's easier since although his Attack is insanely high, it appears that his Armor and Defense isn't as high as it's supposed to be.
Keep in mind that in @ Gaiden you're packing Shin Getter, Mazinkaiser, Daitarn 3, and a shit ton of heavily armed Gundams so the odds are in your favor.
@@richiesahlin6409 Still, Alpha Gaiden Neo Granzon was pretty scary in the end. High Damage, very high HP, Defense and Armor, being able to Attack twice...on top of potentially being able to MAP-nuke your units twice in one turn is scary. Shu's easier in OG Gaiden because of being able to Stun-Lock him on your turn and not let him get the chance to counter-attack back.

From what i know about the spirit possesion mode (That can be used at will... Partially... In Alpha gaiden for the interested) is that Any limiter on cybuster, the elemental lord of the wind, is removed, and Masaki gets to give a "Fuck you: Deux Ex Machina piloting skills" to anyone around. Gameplay-wise, it's "Just" a 25% bonus to all stats exept helth and EN.
