Awesome vid and thank's finally someone did a breakdown other youtuber's have said they would and never do or you get one or two with not that much info so thank you I always wondered what the cost would be because I'd love to go one day in the future plus I find your content way more entertaining than others specially when your drifting like a mad man and your insane backies also your beautiful S15 I can't wait to see you and momo shredding again and as always keep up the great work 👍
Thanks again man! I tried to make it from a real point of view and someone who does it all on a budget. It is very easy to go down the rabbit hole and spend double the amount. I am so excited to get back to Japan. Really hoping to get working on my S13 back here in Switzerland which parts are finally arriving for. We are both looking at getting a practice/missile car for here so that we can do more driving between Japan.
Been watching you from Australia, enjoyed the content from Japan. Thanks for doing a cost breakdown its interesting to see what it actually costs fo something like that. I live in the same area of Australia that Driftsquid comes from. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Cheers from Australia
Thanks for watching! Definitely helps to see what it costs and how you can save money. Ah nice, he is a great guy! I hope to visit Australia some time in the future.
Brilliant breakdown mate! thanks for doing this because there's a lot of people wanting to experience the drift dream! (PS it works out to about $8200AUD + Car Cost for any other Aussies watching) Keep up the awesome work!!
I think we all have those regrets. I do wish I was a little older and was able to drive a bit more before in the golden days. 10-15 years ago would of been amazing! I am definitely lucky that I got into it before it went crazy. I know a lot of friends who sold the cars over covid now can't afford to get back into it..
I needed this video, since I was having an issue with breakdown of a week or so in Japan in Spring 2025!. Thank you! I even went ahead and subscribed too!
Hey man! It was great Meeting you in Ebisu! Yes all you have said is TRUE!!! So people listen to him! And for the solo runs, if you are doing well it won't take much time before you got somebody on your door! I've never done tandem drifting a rhd, plus it was the first time drifting a rhd. Hope to be there at the next Matsuri! Let me know if you pass by in Tuscany!
Hey Dude! Was great to meet you hopefully we see you again in EBISU. Thanks, really tried to be transparent about how much it all costs. We will definitely hit you up if we are down that way.
I really wanted to go to this event! You driving it? Sadly I cannot afford shipping the car down 🥲 maybe next time! We will be at ebisu 07-19 April. If you stop by it would be cool to meet you and take you out!
6:55 I didn't get this part at all. - Ebisu is open 6 days a week with Wednesdays off - ok got this one - North Course is open on Wednesdays on the week before and after matsuri even though the rest of the tracks are closed on Wednesdays? - or North Course is never open except for matsuri 1 week before and after? - which courses are open all the time? - which courses are open during matsuri? - what did you mean by everything is empty and dead? North Course is? Or the rest of the tracks? Or Ebisu in general?
Audio was a bit quiet. But it was clear, so that's all that matters. Great video. In America at least where I live now, a normal drift day is usually around 350-500 depending on where I am going and what car I am taking. And if I take the AE86 on a wet day it's around 150 dollars. I go to Ebisu because of the people I meet, cars I get to see, and tracks I get to drive. The yen was really cheap last time and made putting a new engine hurt a little less. I still can't believe that you can do a half day for under 40 dollar entries. Touge and Nishi Short(with a lot of drivers) are my favorite. What is yours?
I definitely need to work on my camera set up. Currently filming on an iPhone. Thankyou!!! America really seems to be the better option for seat time. Europe has gone crazy.. AE86 is cheap per lap but damn they got expensive.. We are really lucky atm with the YEN, I hope it stays low for next Matsuri. My favourite would have to be Higashi! I love the high speed, I really want a little more power so I can get over 200Kph. Looking forward to driving with you next year.
Drifting in Belgium is dead. I might just sell my driftcar & do a Japan trip once a year instead of dumping money into lame events here. We've got one parking spot where we can drift in wet conditions...
This is my current situation in Switzerland, it’s so difficult. I’ve actually decided to finish my S13 and send it back to the UK. It is cheaper to fly out and do events. I 100% recommended selling up and doing japan if it makes you happy
@@Hi.chance Appreciate the honest feedback! I'm pretty early into my drift journey still (only 4-ish years, stock e36). Been looking for more power to maybe partake in NDC (only achievable comp around here). But seeing all the Ebisu content over the years... It's really tempting not gonna lie :D
Well lad me again 😂 how much was your car and what would the cheapest jzx100 oreven a gx100 with a 1jz swap be now a days here in Ireland 🇮🇪 a chaser was 10 grand euro for the past 10 years until covid hit now clean ones are 20-30k euro 🤦♂️😩
My car was 800K yen back in the day so around 4.5/5K and it was clean! The best thing to do is to look on the Facebook page. I was able to find my dad a "cheap car". Really well spec`d, actually better than mine apart from the knuckles on it that I don't like haha. Yea covid really killed all the cheap cars. My battered JZX is now worth more than what I originally paid for it when it was clean.

Really wanted to do this as there is definitely ways you can do it cheaper.
Car cost definitely is the biggest issue I would say now.
@@Hi.chance still kicking myself for not going in the “golden days” when I should have 10-15 years ago 😓

I have to start saving for April already ✌️Turns out thrash racing are doing an event at Bihoku early April.. maybe a month long in Japan 😅
If im not wrong first time Kane bought the jzx100 and did 2 weeks of drift costed him around 15k€ right Kane?
It was just under 10k but I got back car back when they were 800k yen for a really nice clean JZX

Now the YEN is weak its a good time to start to seach for cars . Even booking can be a good ideia .
I fully agree, there are some good deals out there! My dad was one of the lucky ones to pick up a really good car for a cheap price
Amazing info
Thanks man! Trying to help where I can :)
