M:i-2 was controversial at the time because it went down a very different path than the first Mission Impossible. Mission Impossible was a gem, and had cooler, darker themes and cinematics, and a more realistic pace, but the plot twists became a bit much. Tom Cruise has climbed the tallest building in the world, raced motorcycles at Mach 1, held onto a plane as it took off, and did a 25,000 halo jump but the stunt that really gave me chills was the knife blade a quarter inch from his eye. Yikes!
