Tangerine cake: a quick and delicious cake ready in no-time!

  • Blend the tangerines together with the eggs and flour. The result will surprise you!
    INGREDIENTS6 organic tangerines80ml milk250g sugar3 eggs300g flour1 packet of baking powder (16g)100ml vegetable oil

    METHOD1. Wash and slice the tangerines and then blend them. Add the sugar and milk and keep blending.2. Add the eggs and flour. Lastly, add the baking powder.3. Blend for 5 minutes or until you obtain a frothy and smooth batter.4. Pour the batter into a buttered cake pan and bake at 180°C for 45 minutes.5. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

    I'm a fairly good baker--not an expert but I don't mess things up. So I decided this would be a good recipe to try.....it was a complete and utter disaster. So disappointed.

      Yikes! Thanks for sharing. I know these channels tend to offer really bad recipes that don't work and when I saw they threw in all the skin and peels of the fruit I was suspicious...

      @@cloverring This recipe truly does not work. I tried to slice and re-bake the cake (as you would do with biscotti) but it remained soggy. I could not eat it. It bothers me to waste food but this cake could not be rescued. Ultimately, I had to break it up to feed to wild birds.

    All the white part under the peel the skin of the tangerines?? All that? Does it taste good? I don’t know if I want to eat it

      I'm going to try it with the skins and white part and another cake without the skins in white part and see what happens

      The white part is called pith. It is loaded with nutrients which are good for you but it can taste quite bitter (depending on which citrus fruit you are using--like grapefruit). I always leave the pith on the skin when I am making marmalade.

      Conversion tables are very easy to find on the Internet. If the recipe is from the US, I don't ask the person who has made the video to do this job for me!

    Horrible Horrible omg I can't believe I wasted my time doing this. I didn't read the comments lol I went straight to make a cake I was craving like crazy. DONT DO IT SAFE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME.
