Twelve minutes and forty-six seconds of pure nostalgia. I used to spend hours just watching those little guys carrying stuff from one flag to another.
Go read the story behind this game! There are few interviews from
@@pavel9652 That's not exactly any different now, believe me :P
@@LeutnantJoker I imagine it! ;) Do you work in game dev? I have been working in IT for 15 years now at different positions around web dev, ops and sec ;)
Watching them plant and cut the trees down... Awesome
Mostly yelling "don't bring those stones THERE! Bring them to the guard house build-off at the border! Red has already started!" :P
At times it can be frustrating, but also very captivating. Just watching one shield's path to the castle.
Never played the game before. Looks like I'll have something to do for the final week of Summer. This music is just gorgeous.
One of the Best amiga sound Track ever Made.
When I hear to this music, time to time my brain adds "yup" sound from the game :)
JJvelHunter yi-hoo!
Absolutely! :-D
Its not just you..

Knowing this song means I had a damn good childhood. Nostalgia is a beautiful thing.
Some of the greatest gaming music created. I loved playing this game while feigning sickness from school, from morning until dinner.
With this amazing piece of music, I never would have fell in love with video game music, I have dedicated my life to making video games because of it. Thank you Markus Kludzuweit.
listened thousand times during play. unforgetable
I use to love this game as a kid. I played it all the time. I've never forgotten it or its music. To this day, i can still play this on the piano.
The same. Perfect music
Siedler ist einfach ein Meisterwerk, egal ob Grafik, Sound und Gameplay.
Epic game, astonishing music and intro. I remember ordering this and it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I can remember leaving the game on overnight and waking up to see my kingdom had expanded by the morning. It came with a fold out manual listing all the upgrades. Great times.
Thats yrs of my childhood in a piece of music, this game was so good
Awesoke Childhood Memories! We had so much time to play this game. I want turn back the time
Always hummed this song to get my kids asleep. It was an amazing game and destroyed everything else in its day imo. I remember trying forever to complete the last level. I think it was number 30 or something. Finally did it, it was like conquering the world. Amazing what they achieved with 2mb of ram. The game was quite complicated. I remember playing 2 player split screen with my friends. epic. Many thanks to the uploader - much appreciated. Brought a tear to my eye :)
U finished? How hell u beat with that tons of bugs?
Settlers 2 is pretty much as playable as it was back then. S1 is still OK. With the recent return to low-poly, pixelated art and simple mobile games, S2 doesn't stand much in terms of quality. There aren't many 20+ years old games that did not age at all ;]
How old are your kids today? Did you ever show them the original song? I bet they love the melody very much even though they don't remember it explicitly
I find myself coming back to this regularly. It's just an indelible part of my sad, nerdy teenage years.
They were not ssd neither nerdy.
Everyone is doing it now and they are called pro gamers also.
You my friend was part of the initial revolution that led to all that is happening today.
Same here.... every 4 month or so... lol
Yeah man I do not regret one single bit of time spent in front of my c64 and amiga, incredible irreplaceable experience. Im sure people who dont know better will call it sad, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I think this is my all time favorite game I've ever played. I played in on first Amiga 500 when it came out, then when I got the A1200 I believe there were more voices to the soundtrack? Dunno about that one tho, but I believe there was something different between the 500 and 1200 in the soundtrack.
But anyhow.. This is so nostalgia and has always been my #1 soundtrack from old school gaming. From having my friend showing me the demo he got in a magazine, which I copied, and played over, and over, and over and over again (you couldn't save, and only one map) to when I actually saved up my weekly allowance to actually get to BUY THE WHOLE GAME. The box it came in, the manual, everything, something different than buying a game on Steam today.. Man, those were times. At the age of almost 40 (ouch, I've suddenly become old) I've finally bought a cheap keyboard and I'm trying to learn how to play piano, and a simplified version of this is one of my goals to be able to play, which it has been for at least 20 years.
This music was only four tracks!
I played the settlers for Amiga 500 hours and hours...and me and my Friend against computer. My god. What a beautiful game.
From all the versions of this song, this is the best one. So much dynamics in the sounds and all the timings are perfect. It feels like every other version gets something wrong. Especially the modern MiDi renditions.
This is pretty much the norm for every Amiga release that was also released on another platform. Even games like Monkey Island, Wing Commander, ... that were released on Amiga AFTER the pc version, have massively better music on Amiga, as if it was always "the way it's meant to be".
one of the best amiga music :D
ARGHL! I have this song in mind since i played this damn game! Sometimes i whistle this song when i am alone.. This song is not leaving my mind since i die... GREAT song!
crap, now you infected me, BRAVO
*EVIL GRIN*
Every - single - fcking - note... while washing dishes.
Loved this song as 15 years old kid. And I still love it as 42 years old adult.
Childhood memories
I love the fact that you added a few seconds of the beginning at the end of the song, to give the impression that it's on loop and thus invoking my childhood nostalgia even harder. I've listened to the other (so called best) version a few times and have always felt a slight irritation at the end that it's not starting up again. I don't necessarily want to hear the whole song again, I just need to feel that, somewhere, it keeps going, and will always keep going.
I love this game and music... good old time!
salut to those who still remember ... ;)
Oh man, we'll never forget.
My greatest game of all time:) And this music is a masterpiece
The Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack owes a fair bit to this tune!
I have an mp3 with this. I made it from a recording I made with my A500 and a casette player a long time ago. And sometimes I just have to listen to it.
Utterly love this piece of music, Markus did an outstanding job.
I can still hum the entirety of this after 20 years.
Amiga music at its best
And the first Nintendo nes 8 bit. Metroid, Zelda, punch out.
Best part 0:00 to 12:43
Exactly ;)
omg same
Thank you very much! It's a real pleasure to hear this fabulous soundtrack again! One of the very few that doesn't get on your nerves even after hours of playing. And I have played this game for countless hours…
Wow this is just pure awesome.... its sounds like a fairytale.
I like the S2 MIDI music but this is completely something else.
This was the GAME!!!
Loved this game... 👍
Loved this endless game!
Good music = good game.
I miss coming to school and talking with your friends about your progress in a game :)
I played this with my father when I was a kid, epicness
I can still see the building goes up within my mind, when they are exhausted and you have to demolish and make less effective mines. Or at you leave the game on over night with the music going on. My main objective always was to make a self sufficient "community" that was exsluded from the main Castle! Omg what a game
Youp!
Youp!
E-E!

Jupi!
Jupi!
I will play it again for years if they make a remake of settlers 1 & 2 with this tune in i can't stop.. yup
love the game and music
So memorable ... So amazing..
Mod track was downloaded from the UnExoticA collection. About 99% of my Amiga game music uploads have utilized that awesome collection.
That beat that kicks in at 1:43 is class
nice and relaxing music, best for playing this great game !
Souvenir !
Good music!!!📀
Awesome tune, great memories. But it's a shame most people probably didn't get to listen to it because you needed at least 1MB of ChipRAM to enable the music in-game.
One of my favourite Game ever
It is such a nice soothing song. I find it useful to listen to when I need to concentrate on something. Too bad they never got a comparable version of the song onto later versions. Settlers II on the PC had a rough version of it but it sounded silly.
O M G the nostalgia!!!
Bought & downloaded a settlers style game called Foundation for pc, muted soundtrack and playing this instead, the good old days live on! 😁
Hammer das Teil, kommt gleich in meine Playlist!
I hum parts of this to put my kids to sleep, and play it in the car regularly. Might be the best song ever made :-)
Same lol
Man I remember this song when I was a kid, played it on the Amiga, still an awesome yet annoying game :P
Ah the feeling if you start with an exhausted castle to find the computer player and sneakingly connect your road to his and steal all his stuff :D
best music ever
It's amazing how similar the music for A Game Of Thrones is to this.
Settlers on amiga was beast
A far better version of the track than the PC-version!
I personally think that Haiko Ruttmann did a pretty good job. The sound quality highly depends on the used MIDI hardware though. It doesn't sound bad on a decent Roland device.
Check Gravis Ultrasound version, it's awesome too.
@@branchonequal The arrangement is far better than PC version
Search for "The Settlers MIDI soundtrack (SC-88 PRO)", it sounds good too
wow haven't heard this since last millenia, it's actually really good.
6:18
Oh my god I used to love this game
Best Song of amiga
in my opoinion the best setllers game ever!!
Best Soundtrack ever!! :D
Magic
I love how at 1:48 it basically becomes a medieval version of patter cake patter cake bakers man
love it
Waiting for a folk metal band pick this up...
blechtic Falkenbach did back in 95/96. Check out the song Laeknishendr. It still doesn't change that Falkenbach is fucking amazing.
MjmanDK Meh. They didn't leave much.
Sorry, what? Btw I just found out that the Falkenbach song is actually on a 1990 demo, if the melodic part is in it I do not know.
In fact, since the game is made from a company from Düsseldorf, Germany, which is where the main man of Falkenbach lives. Who knows, maybe he composed the music for the game, or was actually a part of the creation team? :p
I may do this one on my channel at some point
Super ❤️
Yess this was my game in the golden days, cant wait to blow the dust from my old pc and play that shit again for days. this track was da bomb. settlers was a religies back in these days
Yep !!!
Memories.....
The best memories:-)
This music is great for boring data entry work :)
hi
Another serf building someone elses castle. YUP
This is my childhood, loved this music, best version, have the rom on my retro oi but I'm gutted the music doesn't work, other audio does but the musics kerplunked :(
Don't think I'd actually play this game if I had it just listen to the music! Very Falkenbach. Wouldn't surprise me if Vratyas wrote it.
Well...I think the acoustic riff from "Laeknishendr" was taken directly from this ;)
I still sing that song to get my 9 month baby asleep!’!! Hahaha and my older daughter (12 years old) call it the “sleeping song” they even don’t know where it came from! Hahaha
"Yup!"
why is this track that perfect?
Fucking love this music.
Aiema 2021 pozdrawiam rocznik 2007
"Yup" "mhn mhn"
Don't forget yoohoo!
me too :)
10 hour version please :-)
Hello, i made a song called "Laeknishendir", straight ripped this 1:1 on the accoustic guitar and hoped no one would notice. t. guy from Falkenbach
Why they don't remake settlers 1 with this amazing tune
Level 2 rush for the perfect gold area. Stomp your opponents with super high powered knights. The stuff of legends
Did you all know this game can now be played in far more better resolutions than before? It's called "Return to the Roots"....This is an advanced Settlers 2, suitable to play on even the fastest computers.
You can check it out on www.siedler25.org
I bunked school one day just to play this for a full day :) (I did really well in school in the end, but this game was just amazing)
The Book of Boba Fett end credits male choir!
Man, to think this is what the PC version could have sounded like if they bothered with Gravis Ultrasound support.
even after like an hour n half of autoplay next, i knew immediately what this theme was. :)
too bad i was shit at the game.
Ishar 1 theme is a good one too.
