Probably a lot of you watching this are Maplestory players and already know a bunch of details like regular vs reboot servers, etc. I'm breaking down and elaborating more for a general audience, because this scandal should be widely known. Share this with your friends, even if they don't play Maplestory!
I want to make one correction for the video to make it as accurate as possible. The meso market prices are not controlled by nexon directly. It’s actually a trade between players in which players will trade meso or maple points with other players at an “agreed upon” price. This price fluctuates with the amount of meso or maple points available in the world.
@ryanhoang1123 Also being as accurate as possible, your state is correct and so is mine. The meso market is supposedly an exchange between players. How that rate is calculated, however, is undisclosed and managed by Nexon. Both statements are true.
Sounds like management to me! Nexon is the one calculating and computing the exchange rate. This means they're the ones managing it. Could they be doing it in good faith? That's uncertain and that's exactly the problem, because, like cube rates before, that calculation and computation is undisclosed. They could be scamming us for all we know and statements like yours lets them get away with it. That's the plot. Don't miss it. As a good content creator, I value feedback and engagement. That also means any criticism I get will be challenged if and when I disagree. If people find that abrasive and unpleasant then they're not fit to provide feedback. As a fellow content creator, good for you on whatever you went through. Know that not all creators are alike. Don't go projecting your experiences onto others w/o knowing who they are first.
@NoxStream It's jus ta really layered system overall it seems. Also, yeah...I'm kind of one of the worst offenders for your final part in the past. I just honestly stopped caring as much as I did about x things. I'd rather have mushroom game be fun for all on all sides. And also have benefits for both sides in which we can all enjoy. QoL and Balance takes a long time. But with the right people in leadership of this company/publisher. It may come to light. However, also just want to be one to say thank you and other to making me realize just how bitter and jaded I had become overall with past exchanges of words, etc.
The ironic thing is Nexon knows I'd be happy if they get charged 3 Bill $ if its Nexon's profits they can hurt their business or go to jail problem is so many people have a warped sense of judgment ask anyone whose rude to others you can decide before we die we should be reasonable it's too hard for apes to be critical & change!
I discussed at length with a friend of mine regarding this topic and we came to the conclusion that the cube changes will likely never get implemented outside of KMS. For GMS: GMS (and GMS reboot) already have an existing system that works well for players. The grind feels fruitful and mesos have a greater efficiency on progression due to better rates in GMS. We call GMS the "actual playable version of Maplestory" in the modern era, as the progression and monetization of GMS is unique and sustainable, so there should be no reason for GMS to force an untested system on a mature community that is comfortable with the current system that is profitable, sustainable and friendly to new players. For TMS: TMS has a very different economy and powercreep compared to every other server. The current economy looks rather healthy and the devs in TMS know what they are doing (they even made a brand new class that is TMS exclusive). Unless TMS somehow also messed with cube rates, there should be no pressure for them to drastically alter cube function. For MSea: MSea is by far the greediest and scummiest server to have existed. Every single change that is supposed to be implemented as QOL for players were not implemented if it somehow hurt their sales, and cubes in MSea are the most expensive of all the servers. So it stands to reason that MSea will reject this change since it will likely bankrupt MSea overnight if they did remove cubes.
I more so agree with you. There is, however, always the factor that Nexon Korea wants to shit the bed for say the sake of being big daddy, etc. It won't be a surprise if they act outside of logic and reason.
"Sorry for getting caught" BINGO! Even better - now their changes to cubes are so they can try to exploit a loop hole to still sell cubes and be able to continue rigging the rates. "We're scum bag scammers: Time to punish the players for exposing us"
It is so bizzare seeing how a player from another nexon game is suffering while us senseis are chilling just fine in our workaholic Kivotos office. It's almost bipolar of an experience.
@@JChaoGaming At least for you calling it this, you're being an actual journalist. But the world needs more of the direct taking of actions. MMOs are notoriously bad sometimes for this.
In maplestory m they have a necro weapon it's skill is called fair trade. It's the most powerful item you can get. They give an option to see probability. However, it does not load. No matter how many times i tried to open it. Also, meso hunting manually is capped, but there is an auto battle with no cap. You can buy an auto battle for 32$ for 60 hrs of gameplay. Which will give you 100 mill+ with probability of starforce. End game gear is being sold between 2-20bill by players. Farming mesos the f2p way is a grind like none other. Let's say you avg 20 +mill a day hot event 10 hrs a day auto battle you get 2 hrs free a day in a year you'll have 7 bill which is not enough because crafting in this game is broken. You are not given enough shield scrolls, and earning them is either by event or handouts you get maybe twice per month. With a 6 day exploration date, a 5% destruction chance that is more successful than a 10% chance at success and a higher success rate to lvl sf backward. I know people who have been playing for years 1 is just waiting to get a necro lvl 50 weapon to buy on trade station. Everything in this game is probability based. Nexon is operating like a casino. They try to see if they can sell exaltation stones for 200usd each. I don't know how their reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
This is why I don't trust their most popular game atm, Blue Archive. Reviews are relatively good and everyone says that "Korean Nexon" is better and different than their overseas branches but it's all the same company at the end of the day, no matter the game. It's the same crap with Konami; can't trust the company and they're the ones making these major decisions. All these companies have a long history of being scummy but it always seems to be swept under the rug after a year or so and all they have to do is release a new game.
I’m just waiting for POE 2 to release. I’m playing on the new reboot server and people have purchased all 3 vac pets on one character already 😂. The scams are never going to end with people supporting them like this.
You forgot one important detail...... The fee they are getting its extremely low like a 4 % of the anount they won soo there its bo reason for they to stop doing it....... Or for they to doit again
Yea I’m aware that it’s basically an operating fee. Couldn’t find a place in the vid to put this, so I’ll say it here. I think only looking at the fee amount as Nexon’s consequence paints an inaccurate picture. There are other impacts on trust and reputation. Nexon has to deal with an angered community and the attention of the kftc (for future investigations). Imo, these have larger effects than the fine. Nexon are already making changes. Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson.
@@JChaoGaming i disagreed because its a good mesurement in the main motivation of his actions A good stimate amount will serve to look into what they lose or gain, same reason why i 9 m can seen as a good amount but in reality a low amount compared to what they gain Its one if not the highest amount fee to a company of his type but not enough to deter future similar actions in a significative wat just by that punishment

Nexon is the only company that punishes you as an apology
That company must have learned it from the group called the right wing of South Korea. I personally call them as psychopath gang party.
Here’s a bebe’s box. All is forgiven!
i dont think that's what he meant@@JChaoGaming

Thank you, this I all felt was happening for a very, very long time.
I'm glad someone with the education background actually explained it all.

so glad I quit this game for osrs.
I quit the game for just trying games on Xbox PC game pass. It's been nice.
