Great video. I watched this last summer when my teenager wanted a balayage and she loved it. She had a stylist ask where she got it done when she got a haircut and she proudly said, "my mom did it." I'm going to do it again this weekend for her. Thank you!

@@saralopez9063 This may be a bit late, but 10 volume might not be enough. 30-35 seems like the safest bet, a 40 would work too! Although I suggest being weary of how long you leave stronger developers on :)

this is a great tutorial thanks! i used it when prepping to lighten my cousin's hair. one thing to mention for anyone doing this: when you saturate the ends, make sure to lift up the hair piece to look at the back/bottom side and make sure you don't have a harsh line there (blend it with the V shape like you would on the front/top side)!! very important! i didn't do this the first time so there were a few pieces with a harsh line and couldnt figure out why initially!

Great results! Next time I recommend taking the center of the V shape you painted and making it slightly deeper so you have more of the natural dark color to contrast with the highlights. BTW you should really go into hairdressing ^^ I've seen too many "pros" (so they call themselves) that have worked in the industry for 20 years and still failed at balayage.

You did a better job then most salon professionals I have seen :-) I have natural dark brown to black here due to my ethnic background, and had in the past bleached my hair to do exactly that, but of course, never came out that way, and in return had damaged my hair to no end. I since waited a couple of yrs to get my hair texture back to soft and manageable state :-) I also decided to give it a try again with the tape in hair method in the Balayage Dark brown and caramel instead of trying to bleach dark hair .. which I am excited. will also keep a shorter look so I can fit my hair under my show wigs :-) cant wait to see the color and the result Tuesday!!! Keep doing what your doing sweetie, you are awesome !!!!

Way better than my hairdresser that i paid 100 euros and wasted 3 hours of my Saturday morning with, with a horrible result orangy, yellowish, reddish damaged hair. Lol I’m going to show this video to my husband, best friend, and see if he wants to do it for me !

Great video, would love to see more of these. Maybe some for a more subtle look. I have a fair amount of grey coming in, and that means when my roots grow out its grey and a dark flat brown, maybe you could demonstrate a way to deal with this? Many thanks from Toronto Ontario!

Good job but what volume developer did you use? 30 would have brought out an awesome color followed by a ash blond toner.

What happens if just bleach it and leave it like that? It is necessary to color it after the bleach?

Just watched your video and it looks beautiful! I'm going to try it myself, only with a red dye. Any advice on that perhaps? I'm thinking I can use your technique for red dye aswell?

The results are so beautiful!! You really know what your doing!! I was wondering how this would work if I have blonde bleached hair. I want a semi dark root and flow into the blonde I have... I don't know how I would approach it!

Aliah castillo search UA-cam for “reverse balayage”! Elle bangs has a good video on it

somegirljess Thank u so much! 😊 Also very quickly, what is the upkeep for your friends hair? Is it easier than having to bleach the root and tone every month as it is for me or would you say having a balayage is more work?
