I saw him in 2004 in Tampa with the awesome Annie Lennox. I still have the T-shirt and I got to see him warming up because I was taking subscriptions for the Tampa Bay Times! If I was a jerk, I could've got his autograph. LOL
So good to find this, I'd only found the Clapton movie track version on YT till now and it was killing me, the original was sooo much better. They were and still are such a great band live.
@tuscan10 I love the fact that I have been to 11 Sting concerts in my life and he always finds a way to keep these songs fresh. This guy and the musicians he surrounds himself with are definately top notch.
I don't think he's a sell out at all. He writes music for people to like and he meshes that with his passion and his expression. That's the difference between an amateur musician and a professional one.
What's the name of that guitarrist with that sadowsky nylon guitar ? I really liked it, baú the changed all the harmony of the song . For me that version was better than the Eric clapton version, cause this song really need a great nylon guitar doing jazz Phrases!
You're right, Vinny, but keyboardist - Mr. David Sancious makes that jazzy or we can call it, Fusion "vibe". His chord changes are full of jazz chords. For instance, basic Em7 from Clapton/Sting version, David plays Emmajor9 - or, to be simplier (G, B, Eb, F#) - right hand, left hand is E, as basic.
I know Sting sold millions of records but I always felt he is a bit looked down upon and he deserves some more respect. He certainly is a very important figure in music history even if he was a sellout.
Love that David Sancious piano improvisations !
El mejor!!
I saw this lineup in summer of 1993 in Charlotte NC. Was absolutely amazing

I hate the Eric Clapton version on UA-cam. I love this version from Ten Summoners Tales.

Die Baseline erlaubt es mir nicht auf sonstige 'Nebengeräusche' zu hören. Überwältigend - Live - Sting!

Why do you have so many insecures?
