Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2024
- This video tells the inspirational story of Nasser Hussain's first years as England test captain. From his first test series loss resigning England to the title of worst ranked test team in the world, to the redemption that would take place in the month's afterward. Culminating in a famous 2000 tour of Pakistan and one of England's most famous ever test wins abroad. Nasser's team would come to influence English teams that would come after it and if you watch this, you'll see why.

87 cup was held in Subcontinent Ig. and there was famous saying that Miandad was never LBW in Pakistan. 😂
yeah those umpires never gave out until it was a bold or caught 🤣
Thanks for the small correction mate. The first one outside of England.
I've never heard that saying before, but it's hilarious haha
yeah a massive financial pull by salve and dhirubhai ambani helped😁
Hands down this is the best documentary on what I grew up with, why Nasser Hussain is a name we can never forget. Couldnt stop my tears at the end. Well done, mate.
I absolutely love your style of content. I hope Nasser sees this. 10/10
4:54 got emotional when I saw the word "Robelinda"
did something happen to his channel? I used to watch his videos but haven't seen anything for a long time
That last day in that test shows why the test format is by far the best format. The ultimate drama spectacle!
Without Nas doing what he did, we don't win the 2005 Ashes imo.
Absolutely spot on.
Man, the topic selection is 😙
We can say that Nasser and Morgan both got England back on track to winning
Good video. Nasser was a wonderful captain. He didn't get the luxury of captaining basically a whole team of all time great players like Ponting did. That England team had very few players who would have gotnintonthe South African team let alone the Australian team and overachieved enormously
English sides keep hunting for South African players, Strauss, KP, Trott are the recent ones I remember and Nasser is actively involved in pursuing them, now he looks for West Indians too
Man.... you scripted this so well.. the narration was top notch. Nasser Hussain was a gutsy player and today an excellent commentator. Thank you for this video.. I remember this test so vividly.
man ur videos are so elite. perfect blend of serious knowledge but also the entertainment with videos and highlights. love u bro. jarrodkimber you and finalword. we as aussie cricket fans are sooo lucky. genuinely never thought i'd say "wish i was an english fan"!!! imagine the circuit after. what a test.
Such great storytelling. Thanks for making these videos, they are definitely a highlight of my youtube feed!
great story telling! RIP Graham Thorpe 😢
He was my hero when I started playing cricket 🏏
Such a sad ending for a great of English cricket. RIP Graham Thorpe.
ok now we are going to have to get at AB video. this story telling about Allan Border and what he did with wat he had would leave me in tears.
great stuff mate and good timing, now the footy is over finally the cricket can start.
In all fairness, the game probably should've been called for bad light, but solid effort.
Another great video, love it
100% shouldn't have happened, but that's what happens when you (Moin Khan) push your luck too far with an umpire willing to put their foot down. Glad that Bucknor did too, because you can be sure we wouldn't still be talking about it 20 years later if it'd been a draw!
fantastic video mate
Probably the most underrated cricket channel out there right now.
What a brilliant video essay/documentary 👏
Good memories following these.series and Nasser Husseins captaincy era
Amazing video! Never thought I would give a toss about English success but here I am
Good timing with the current Test going on
Watching this today, when Pak test cricket team look so clueless, how far have they fallen especially the pitches and spin bowling.
Great video as usual. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Amazing storyline. From start to finish. Brilliantly narrated 🎉❤
Great video mate - ol' beaky is the man.
Mate, your storytelling in these videos is amazing even though I know the story you still made it feel like a rollercoaster ride
Bravo 👏
Just want to say I love your work mate, each one is a gem
documentary Netflix would be proud of
Excellent story telling of these series, brings back memories. New subscriber.
13:18 banger was so underrated. Glad he’s now part of England again
Beautiful!
Sheer goosebumps. Wish more Indians and Pakistani supporters can watch this documentary just to get an idea who these ppl were nassir Hussain, Atherton, Thorpe etc and what they contributed in making English cricket what it is now. Not an English supporter ,die hard Aussie fan but genuinely thankyou soo much for such a amazing piece of Art🙏
I am a neutral cricket fan from India, and I am loving this documentary 💌
The introduction of central contracts in 2000 was also a big part in our renaissance. Players became England players who played a bit for their counties. Instead of the other way round.
I remember that 1987 tour of Pakistan. Getting the briefest of highlights on the sports segment of the news programme here in England.
Great Video !!!
another great video mate, good on you cobber!
For the efforts, I pray you reach larger subscription soon.. 😊❤Love the cricket knowledge you share
Great video, you earned yourself a sub!
And like the summer sun, a small case of hay fever, and mum's christmas playlist, 6andout returns for the summer to stay
Good work buddy 👏👏
Keep it up 💪
14:15 - RIP Graham Thorpe.
Your vids are super. keep them coming more frequently champ
Great content! Please make the next one on how Greame Smith won in England and Australia which was a first for SA since readmission!
Fantastic video mate.
RIP Graham Thorpe ❤
Brilliant story telling. Give us more.
The first test of the tour of South Africa in 1999/00 was ridiculous. It shouldn’t have started when it did. It was almost dark, drizzle was in the air, and the wicket was almost impossible to play on. Donald and Pollock were both World Class bowlers anyway, but with conditions like that, they were unplayable. England were 4 for 2 I think after a few overs.
Broad refusing to leave the crease after being given out. Explains so much😂
Rip #Grahamthorpe
That is some shocking umpiring
I bow down to Thorpe...such a Tenacious n tough character he was
Awesome
Perfect
Gotta love Javed Miandad. He was such a panto villain.
Great analyst
Dean Jones had a great anecdote in his first book …. He was trapped plum by Hadlee at the MCG and given not out, the kiwis muttered: “Great first we can’t get Javed out in Pakistan, now we can’t get fucking Jones out in Melbourne!”
This was th eonly time I barracked for England. I am Australian.
2 things. A batsman can see the ball in the dark, a fielder can't. Wasn't 2005 decided more on the illegal ball tampering (both Trescothick and Flintoff openly said so) than any "3 Lions" mentality???
4:45 Steve Waugh playing a hook? OMG
England in the 1990's. Aka my childhood.
1987 - 1989 - Slump
1990 - 1992 - Recovery
1992 - 1993 - Slump
1994 - 1995 - Recovery
1995 - 1996 - Slump
1997 - 1998 - Recovery
1999 - 2000 - Slump
2000 - 2005 - Recovery, growth, and eventual triumph
Question is, why was it so bad for so long?
England sucked most of the time. They've gotten better. But maybe just in tests.
All local umpires were highly biased against visiting teams. Not much difference in subcontinent and overseas umpire.
Can you make a statistical comparispn with bevan and dhoni?
A video with that subject of some best odi finishers be it bevan dhoni kohli abd klusener
Nasser played the same role what Ganguly did for india that means team building
what an amzing video, but weird title
Stephen fleming was the Original captain cool
is that steve waugh playing a hook shot at the 4:45 mark!?
RIP Thorpey
Thorpe man! RIP
RIP Graham Thorpe
Funny to think how dodgy umpiring used to be in cricket
now days We don't need umpires.we have technology.
you need umpires for more than just decision making, its the player management reasons why you will always need umpires. The speed of the game will be even slower without umpires
why are people upvoting dumbass comments like this ?
Side note for that Fourth Test at the Oval against NZ: the bottom of that batting order went Mullally, Tufnell and debutant Ed Giddins
If anyone can find me an English Test lineup with a worse 9, 10 and Jack...answers below. Because that was madness!
A surprise Pakistan loss is, sadly, always suspicious
Atleast Colin Croft didnt physically hit the umpires during the match and Michael Holding didnt kick the stumps out.
Imran Khan's efforts to introduce Neutral umpires were mostly hindered by the ECB, who thought English Umpires behaviour was justified.
I guess if shakur rana would present in modern day cricket....he would have invented and used his own DRS ....in favour of pakistan
So they went to Pakistan 13 years later and developed a backbone (but had neutral umpires)
Craig white. Forgot he played for England 😂
Rip thorpy
Thorpe RIP
I don’t see the reason for talking about the Gatting-Rana and Pak v England umpiring issue in this video.
I think it is quite ingenuine to talk about Pakistan umpiring bias and choosing to ignore cases of English umpiring bias that Pakistanis suffered from in 1982, 1987 and 1992. The 1992 series is within my living memory and umpires kitchen and especially umpire Palmer were disgraceful
English never have been a great cricket test team. Consistently lost at home
England have the second highest win percentage out of any team in test cricket, you're probably on drugs if you think England were never a great test cricket team
This review is so biased, starting in 1987, not to mention what touring teams had to endure in England at the hands of English Umpires.
No context how Pakistan captain Imran Khan repeatedly complained about the obvious bias of English umpires, during Pakistan's tour of England, in 1987 and in 1982.
The raj mentality among the british, lived long after 1947, and may still exist today. From the time in 1953, when visiting english cricketers kidnapped a Pakistani Umpire in 1953, to recent Kohli's gestures during UK test matches.
It is good things that all the former slaves are standing upto their masters.Thats why IPL success pinches England more than any other cricket playing nation.
The famous pitch cryers, for they can neither play pace, like australia and south africa, neither spin, like the asian sub continent
They can only cry about pitch
