Man ... there is some serious exposure on that trail. Thanks for sharing. It sort of reminds me of Lower Monroe Truck Trail but with true single track. The trail looks in great shape.
Just did an out and back of this exact section yesterday. Such a fantastic trail. Climbing the top part of this section was NO JOKE! Admittedly had to hike through a few spots. How'd you fair? Your strava says you went all the way up this, through the strawberry peak loop and then back down? That's a beast of a ride, you guys must of been pretty beat comin down! Thanks for the vid!
Good job! That's a great ride. Yeah, the climbing gets technical up there, that's extra fun. The loop we did was epic. Climbing out of Strawberry I definitely felt it good.
was John having issues with travel? ive just been reading up on how service my Fox fork and a common thread i saw was decreased travel. the negative air spring pressure goes high (i havent yet understood/read what causes this).... causing the fork to suck down... Also may i ask... where did you guys start from? Thx for the great video Ben!
Emm hi just wondering, the rpm meter u were using in the video.. Minimum was around 50, but I see ur friend who had the about the same speed as u not even pedalling.. Were u pedalling all the time or your meter was having problem.?
The rpm drops to zero when I'm not pedaling, but the value seems to be interpolated, so it doesn't drop sharply. If I move my crank just a little bit or if the sensor picks up too much vibration I guess it affects the value.
It took five separate projects over seven years to restore the trail from Redbox to JPL. We're just as stoked as you to have it back in service!
Thank you very much! It's a fantastic trail. So happy to have it.
Thanks for the great work! 🙌
Thank you trail builders. Without folks like u we would all be riding on trainers at home
And this channel would be bike path videos haha
Thank you trail builders and Ben for sharing this classic ride. Thats a monster loop! Sleep well
I'm relaxing at home on the couch watching this video. so scenic. Some parts of the trail are scary. Enjoying your videos. Thanks Ben.
Thanks, this reminds me that it’s about time to ride this trail again
Steve is a monster! I rode chilao with him. Insane skils!

Monroe is in great shape too! I guess we can say it's now a single track. I should go re-record it
Damn this looks epic. Finally crushed my way down backbone this seems like the next one
Oh yeah, it's definitely an epic one to add to the list!
Gettn nervous lookn down that cliff 😅😅 great ride tho 👍
Wow scary trail

Absolutely amazing! Thank you!!
Thanks!
This is why we used to cut our bars way down.

Yes, John lost almost all of his travel. He was riding old school! :P
We started from JPL
Thanks for this video? What equipment are you using to record this?
Camera: bit.ly/goprofusion180
Mic: bit.ly/lavalliermic
How did you get the rpm widget on there
Charlie Valenzuela I used Garmin VIRB Edit
Can u do this trail with just the uphill and two cars parked?
Felix Nguyen yes, it can be done point-to-point starting at JPL parking and climbing up to the Switzer parking off Angeles Crest Hwy

Emm 0oo kk.. Thank you for clarification.. I m currently learning about cadence.. So, just wanna see how much is good for off road cycling
I guess the best way to tell if it's really 0 rpm is with the cassette noise
