Summer Lawn Cocktail | Keep your lawn thriving in the summertime

- In this video I show a little lawn sauce concoction that I am using on my lawn throughout the summer to keep it vigorous and thriving. During the summer months I don't like to fertilize because I don't like to push top growth while the grass is stressing out, but I like to put some things on it that will help continue to strengthen the roots and help us hold onto our green color.
If you have never used liquid products like this, they are lots of fun to use and things such as the humid acid are great ways to get used to spraying liquids before you use a liquid fertilizer because you're not going to over apply and damage your lawn, like you could with a liquid fertilizer.
My lawn has been through a lot of struggles this year, first with the brown patch, then me purposefully letting it dry out and struggle that way after all the rain we had. This will help nurse it back to health as I look forward to all the action that this fall will bring. Stay tuned.

The 700 green effect can be purchased either through the lawn care nut or GCI turf services
I put a * next to the products I used. Any of the other options would also work great. The super thrive will last a very long time if used at label rate. The liquid humid acid should also last a while.
Love the Palm effect. Thats your thing. No heat wave here in CT but that sun is beaming down. Thanks for the tips!
Hi Justin, I spayed the nut sledge on Wednesday. Still dont see a change. But We'll see. BTW received my spreader this week. So glad I won thanks👵
You'll see a change around day 6 or 7!
that spreader was nice!
Good video dude! Something tells me you scalped the property line so you can have a better domination line😎👊🤣
Haha that would be funny! But the way their lawn is it is flat in that spot and slanted the rest of it so it scalps right there, it's weird. I should take credit though that's funny
The Lawn Whisperer scalping the neighbors property line was a the only tip I got out of this video. Im gonna try it out and see if it works for me🤣🤣🤣
@@Lawnvolution 😂 let me know how that goes haha
Dude I love your vids! But mostly I love seeing someone from Indiana on UA-cam. Indy here. I’ve been making notes and incorporating lots of your suggestions. And after last week’s heat my yard still looks pretty darn good. Oh, loose the IU shirts, Purdue guy here LOL 😁 Keep the fun and informative vids coming!
🤦♂️ haha thanks for watching! Glad to have some indiana people representing here!
I just did something similar. Mixed Humic, liquid iron, seaweed extract and some fish emulsion I had leftover from the garden. Whew Eee did that smell good. Watered in well and not as bad now.
I've never used fish emulsion but I imagine the smell haha
Great vid, the tips about the dates and rates is awesome.
FIFO, First In First Out!!!
Keep it up bud!!!!
Looking forward to results video. Btw - I like the thin red line flag 👍🏼👨🏻🚒
Awesome video and again these beats you have on your videos 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate it!!
Nice concoction and video. Even with the PPE I would expect Connor Ward to comment.
I like your tips.
Just the tips?
@@TheLawnWhisperer it's a nice Cocktail....
Great cocktail bro
Just the tip 😉😁⛳️🍺👍🏽
🤭☺
Great Vid......keep up the hard work
Nice video... definity have to try this concoction!
First Aussie 😁 . Thanks fo your advice. Great tips. 😁👍🏼👍🏼 I thought you only used Humic Acid when you had cottonwood trees to make their roots grow right throughout your lawn. I learned something today.🙃
😂
Great video
As along as you water the sod regularly you can put it down in July. Here Texas we put sod down all summer just have to keep it watered.
I agree but the keeping it watered thing doesnt usually happen around here with new construction when the house doesnt have a resident lined up yet
How well does the Lawn Star products compare to N-Ext? Awesome vlog as always. 👍🏻
I haven't used too many of them. I honestly think they're probably about the same except they are more expensive per gallon. The only advantage is that you can buy individual gallons and dont have to buy a 4 pack like you do with the next products
Nice work dude!
Moving into my new house in a couple of weeks I’ll use your tips to get my lawn looking good!
You dont wanta do that
First... Boiler up!!!
Go Buckeyes!
What is a Hoosier?
A true Hoosier is a Purdue Boilermaker!
Milan Jurich 👌😎
Go IU!!
:) yay, you did it!
Garage gym. Rogue T. Shaker bottle. Smells like CrossFit.
😂 I used to do crossfit. Now im more into my biceps
Add sea kelp to your recipe, it will help with stress recovery
Great video. This is actually on my list for tomorrow after mowing ... while smoking an awesome pork butt.
What time are we eating???
The Lawn Whisperer 6pm!
Hi justin its aiden
Hi aiden its aiden
Another idea of mine is to use origiganic fertilizer in June many of those products of iron as well what’s your take on that
I like the flag with the thin red line! Is that a firefighter flag? Gotta get me one.
It is! Here is the one I have I believe its 3x5 amzn.to/2LKwONW
Thanks!
Lookin good babe
Do I know you?
Just would be curious to were in Indiana u r? Wonder how your weather is didn’t see any snow in your feb video
Just bought 2oz bottle of Superthrive for $2 on sale at the local hardware store. Do you see any benefits from it? I'm still skeptical
I'm interested in trying Super Thrive this year(I'm already a consistent summer user of humic acid and iron). But I only use the Ortho that holds a quarter gallon of liquid. Should I just do a quarter teaspoon per a quarter gallon every 1k sq ft and will that work?
Great video, How many ounces of Greene Effect or Chelated Iron per 1000 sq ft?
It should say on the label. I used 8 oz per 1000 of the green effect. The lawn star liquid iron I believe is 5 oz per 1000 but I could be wrong there
Hi Justin, I’m pretty new to this but I was wondering why use a liquid over granular? Thanks
From everything I've read the liquid humic acid is more readily available for the grass and gets down into the soil quicker and easier. I would say if you are more comfortable with granular that would be fine. The liquid is also much cheaper per application
Great video....Where do you buy humic acid?
I linked it in the description box below the video. Or you can just google humic acid and should be able to find some
Bro your from Indiana too !
Yessir!

@@TheSodFather09 I'm in Bloomington
what are you cutting your lawn @ now? You were doing the 4 inches before you got the brown patch I think then you brought it down to dry out etc. but did you raise it back up? And will you have to do a lot of reseeding this fall? Also do you core Aerate in Fall or spring? I do both but prefer spring, Poa germinates in Fall so last yr It spread the seeds all over and had to re sod and rip out the pieces of Poa, Big pain the ass! going to put a post emergent down in Sept for the Poa I still have a little..
I am cutting at 3.25 right now. I just prefer how clean the cut is. I prefer to aerate in the fall. I haven't had to deal with poa yet and I think the best my lawn looks all year is about 2 weeks on after aerating. I will reseed some but for the most part I'm doing well!
@@TheLawnWhisperer Agree, my KBG thrives in the Fall
I didn't the the house twins turned into the Hodge triplets haha
Yeahhhhhhhhh
How often can I apply liquid iron ?
Typically, what is the shelf life for humic acid?
Would u recommend ironite when really hot?
Btw I’m in nj and just found ur channel it’s awesome
Do you also have a workout channel
Calves only
What would it look like if Bobby Knight did this video...
I could throw my sprayer across the lawn as a reenactment?
Liquid iron strengthens the roots? Lol its a foliar spray that greens up your color by facilitating chlorophyll production. But iron doesn't do anything notable for the roots
False. Sorry, but you're wrong.
alternativeearthcare.com/lawn-care/fertilizer-with-iron/
I’d rethink your comment, dude.
Be skeptical. Humic acid is a highly pulverized solid, mined like coal. It does not dissolve. They mix it with water at the factory where in time it all settles to the bottom of the jug. The only way it gets broken down is by microbes and bacteria in the soil, much of which got killed by the fungicides and insecticides we just applied recently, and by the chlorine we saturate our soils with using city water. IMO, it's a bit of a scam - with suppliers telling us what we want to hear and laughing at us when we believe solid material, the size of a grape, crushed and made into 5 ounces of fluid concentrate and spread over 1000 sq. ft., is actually going to have an effect on soil and plant health. Laughing all the way to the bank. Seems smarter to use Milo - 13 POUNDS of dead microorganisms per 1000 that provides easier to digest food for the soil's microorganisms to help them survive and multiply.
Your neighbors are good with you shaming their lawns to the world?
They are. They even told me I could use side by side comparisons to show that what I do works
Why did you not help your neighbor ???
With what?
Didn't see you put sunscreen on your face. PPE POLICE!!!
😂 I'll get it next time haha
