An excellent take on the bridges on Newbridge bank and run along to Lambton Castle. The autumnal colours are beautiful ! The river seemed to be quite full and peaty. Further up the river towards Chester-le-Steet park and the weir was where the Boat House used to be until it was burnt down. My wife and I lived there for 6 years in the Sixties. During the winter, especially when the snow melted on the high fells, it became rather hairy when It rushed by -only to be pushed back by the incoming tide !! It would flood the garden eventually to finish Up within a few inches of the back door! Thanks for those great views - brought a lot of good memories.
