This is the arrangement that I return to frequently. Dreamiest of all.
What kind of clarinet is being played? I am ignorant of clarinet construction, but this one looks to be made of wood, with a mouthpiece & bell that I've not seen before--except in baroque or renaissance instruments.

“In your life” … yes, me too. The best deep range of a wonderful clarinet sound makes it very special. Astor Piazzolla … i need to listen to more of this composer.
oooh... I don't normally like vib on clarinet but this is just sumptuous!!
a tiny amount of vib here is almost necessary. With such long and extended phrases, as well as the sensuous character of "Oblivion," a subtle, imperceptible vibe, even on clarinet, is very important. If you listen to any long, extended phrase (say 3rd movement, Rach 2nd), you'll hear this tiny, subtle vibe to enhance the phrase.
You may notice that it's not pitch vibrato, which is considered to be a sacrilidge on clarinet. It's "volume vibrato" for lack of a better term. This is created by rapid fluctuation of the amount of air going into the instrument.
@@mikeclayton4976 I would say that Rach 2 mvm 3 to be left without vibrato. VERY few scenarios imo call for vibrato.
