I, generally, use a ratcheting, interchangeable regular-sized screwdriver for the initial loosening of screws. Here's a link to the brand I use:

Get some additional, varying sizes Flathead and Phillips bits while you're at it.
The adjustable wrenches I use (instead of hex nut wrenches) are Husky, but these (with the red insert) work very well... 6-inch will be used the most:

You read my mind, Steve. lol Thanks! I asked you specifically about that in one of my other responses to you. No need to respond to that one. Thanks again, brother. Glad you're doing well. Barry.

Aren’t those washers there to help keep the water out?

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I think you're referring to the washer under the body screws..... yes, in theory, but in reality it doesn't do a goo job of it.... hence my statement to not worry about it if you lose them. A better way to protect the screws and seal the water out would be to coat the screw threads with grease.... if you were concerned about corrosion or the screw getting frozen..... oiling the threads will suffice, as it is assumed you'll do periodic services on the reel. Hope that helps.
