My favourite pick ups were vintage Star Wars figures. I owned about 20 different ones which my son gifted me several years ago because he knew I had them as a child. This year I decided to complete the collection. I now have all of them as well as several vehicles and playsets all acquired in 2023! Wasn’t cheap, but worth it.
Man, I am so glad that I'm not a vintage Joe collector, because thanks to you and Michael French, I know I'd fall down a deep Action Force rabbit hole!
I'm with you on that one. I'm content with just viewing other people's collections. I collect books and although they fit nicely on a shelf, it gets difficult to find space for them all and lord knows it gets expensive trying to complete a collection. ESPECIALLY when it comes to first editions. If I started a toy habit, I'd be living in a storage shed myself.
I simply don't have the room for a total vintage AF/Joe collection, but if I see a couple for a good price at a toy show or something, I'll bite. Sometimes it's good to just admire someone else's collection and the history behind the toys. Tony's a good example, everything I learned about AF and Palitoy came from him
I pieced together the Dreadnok Cycle for my father-in-laws birthday. He was so excited when he opened it that it was worth the time and effort I put into it.
Your accent is so distinctly “UK but lives in Australia” haha! A lovely memory of your family’s layover in Singapore connecting you to that toy. Nice work, Tony. This was a nice change of pace from the relentless top 10s and best ofs this time of year.
I have to say, I truly love watching this channel with you Tony. You seem like a humble, happy and all-around grateful soul who shares what you have, including your wonderful memories, with the world. I appreciate you my Brother and all of your reviews. God bless! From the US, with much love, Matthew.
Great items in that list, especially the Fire Tender. I do remember having the Action Man Fireman uniform and the Police Motorcycle from the emergency team. My number 1 pick-up this year has to be a vintage Millennium Falcon loose, but with box. Finally, after many years of collecting Vintage SW, I got around to getting one and it was in really good condition at a really cheap price! Not far behind that is my first M.A.S.K. vehicle since childhood: Jackhammer complete with box and again in great condition. Also managed to pick up a Last 17 Luke Stormtrooper minus accessories for 25 quid which I think was an absolute steal! And I expanded my Vintage Action Force collection with quite a few more vehicles and figures. Hope you had a great Christmas, Tony. Thanks for the great content this year and wishing you a fantastic 2024!
A home run Tony. Analog Toys did indeed have a big year. Your recent drone purchase and the fact your editing keeps getting more and more diverse and intricate is a nod to the toys, the channel and your growth as one of the elite toy channel proprietors on UA-cam. Well done and Happy New Year!
As a horror toy collector , I was stoked to come across a 2000 sideshow collectibles 12" boxed Frankenstein , definitely a grail item for me. Plus a loose complete Major Bludd figure.i loved this character as a kid and been looking for one forever.
The fire tender is definitely a no brainer, my opinion. Not far behind would be Recondo with the Silent Attack canoe. Continued success and Happy 2024!
Tony, a funny little anecdote for you about your Fire Tender. I'm from Ireland, but earlier this year I was buying a car in Nuneaton, so I took the opportunity to call into Leciester Vintage toys, which is a shop I wanted to visit for a long long time. I met both Joe and Gav, and bought a few things, anyway I'm also an AM collector and bought that day a vintage Crash Crew late issue. When I got home and inspected it a bit closer I noticed included was the Fire Tender Axe, and I've always wondered if this should have been included in the one you bought from them as I know it was missing when you got it. Following your channel as I do I also know that you managed to get one, so yeah I might have ended up with your axe (sorry)!! It remains a grail of mine also and hopefully one day I can pick one up. Keep up the great work.
Excellent stuff. Thank you. My favourite acquisition was a 1970s TIMPO Set. The Fort Sahara Playset,; Complete with Main Fort, Legionnaires, Arabs, Cannon, Tent and accessories. The Box is in great condition, considering it is now more than 50 years old. May you be successful in 2024 and let your collection grow. Best Wishes mate.
Hey Tony👋🇬🇧 Some beautiful vintage figures/ toys there mate. 80% of what I bought last year was modern and as nice as these toys are to have in my collection I do miss the nostalgia attached to a vintage toy purchase…. I loved your story about your trip to Toys R Us Singapore👍 I have made a conscious decision to slow down with modern toy collecting and with the exception of some upcoming MOTU releases, this year for me is all about vintage! Really looking forward to your upcoming Star Wars video…. Great stuff mate, take care👍
There are some amazing pick-ups on that list. That all beige Silent Attack Kayak with Recondo is damn cool. Looking forward to your Dagobah review as well as that new Luke figure from Stan Solo. The playset from Drew G. has a hell of a lot of play features in a very small footprint. As for the Killer W.H.A.L.E. video and shooting on water, I'm reminded of Jaws filming nightmares.
The legendary George Aitken strikes again. Great video. Those carded series 1 Action Force figures are still a mind-blowing find. My best 2023 vintage pick-up was a boxed Character Options The Daemons set for £25 from a charity shop. Opened but minty fresh.
I n 2023 I acquired the middle stabilizer for my 1989 Slaughters Marauders Armadillo, 1983 1.5 Scarlet, Grunt, Cobra Officer, and Stalker. A 1988 Night Force Outback, 1991 Big Ben, Ninja Force Zartan, and a 1990 Stretcher. I found a 1991 Sludge Viper, Talking Battle Commander Stalker, 1991 Sonic Fighters Major Bludd, and a 1993 Crimson Guard Commander. I got parts to complete my 1985 Trubble Bubbles and my 1986 Cobra Surveillance Port. Best of all, I got to meet HCC788 at the DFW GiJoe Toy and Action Figure Show in Grapevine, TX! Wish I could have met you too, pal.
Awesome. For me, classified HISS tank arrived, also Mondo Panthor. Those are my 2 big arrivals in 2023. Other than that, not much. I got some 3rd party stuff like the LACC exclusive Xesray Big Horn figure, which is amazing. Also my mezco Solomon Kane. Idk...I get stuff and put it in my storage because I'm not able to have a display yet. I hope 2024 I get a new job that allows me to buy a house and display my stuff. Happy new year, everybody!
My best pick up of the was a complete vintage Imperial shuttle, nothing broken for a steal of $70usd. 2nd a orange Jurassic Park Bull T-Rex. It was a ToysRUs exclusive in the late 2000s when Harbro had the lic. But it is made off the Old Kenner tool. Very cool and big 28inches long.
Tony - another great video and I love your 2023 pickup list! I'm also trying to complete my Kenner Star Wars Last 17 this year. We'll see how it goes! I haven't been to JoeFest since it moved to Augusta (I go to Toylanta every year), but maybe a need to make the trek this year.
While on a trip to look at houses I took a stop at a toy store. While there I picked up the international action force budo. I love that figure the color choices just pop on the shelf. A close second I the 50th anniversary silent strike set.
I guess the best pickup for me was kickstarting my own vintage collection with a Bespin Luke Kenner figure. Excellent production value too brother, color me impressed!
Nice video!!! Because of your channel, retro blasting, and others, i have rescued my toys (Joes, He Mans & Tranformers among others) from oblivion. Now they are all standing tall in wall shelves in my music room! And guess what, I have a Snake Bite figure! I could not find info on it and for a moment I thought it was a fake for the Chilean market, which is where I am from. Anyway, I started collecting vintage Joes, He Mans, and Masterpiece Transformers all over. Good times!!
Great list, I remember sending in those stars to get free goodies, I did pick up French carded sets when we did a French day strip in high school. I would love to pick up a vintage Action Man. Moving to the US from the UK makes it even more costly, but one day I hope to get one.
Another awesome video Tony. I remember having the luke endor figure as a kid and being annoyed that his helmet didn't come off. This year I've been collecting the valaverse action force line mostly can't wait for series 4 to arrive 👍🏻👍🏻
This is an amazing list. My favorite toy pick up of the year was actually the Wasp Raider figure that I got at a convention. I just started collecting AF and knew this was a hard to get figure and once I saw it on the shelf at this convention I just had to get it in my hands. And I do not regret it
Not a vintage figure but still very cool! My friend gifted me the A Team lunch pail. Just waiting for the same friend to bring me the thermos. As for actual figure. Has to be V2 Snake-Eyes with Timber and a complete Beachhead.
Favorite toy pick up for me? Toss-up between a Curt Swan inspired Showcase Superman action figure from DC Direct and the McFarlane Toy Swamp Thing. I just am enamored with the detail and sculpt of the latter, and the former might be as close as I will ever get to owning a Superman action figure based on the art of THE Superman artist, Curt Swan.
Apologies for not plugging your channel man. It didn't occur to me at the time of recording but now I really wish I had of directed some viewers to your channel.
this years best, for me, was getting Spirit's belt, given that Spirit was never for sale in the UK, to have have him and the belt, he looks stunning, still need the eagle...also got W.O.R.M.'s no head antenna, but he cost me next to nothing and displays perfectly (His mask is under his arm, looks amazing!)
Yep no 1 no surprise beingg british the fire engine is amazing and very noisey .look forward new room tour .i watched last one few times .take care and have great new year
Awesome scores this year, i immensely enjoy your videos. I recently retired from the U.S. Army, my wife encouraged me to get a hobby so after carefull consideration i chose my favorite childhood toy line. G. I. Joe. My favorite pick up this year is a joe tomahawk complete with lift ticket and his mic. Just need new stickers.
Thank you for yours Tony, I am/was a combat medic with 4 deployments. My fondest childhood memories are of playing with my friends wed bring all our favorite toys and have epic battles. Imagine motu, vs m.a.s.k. vs Joe B's transformers vs you name it.
That's what I love about Tony,he's the only toy youtuber I know that would risk fighting a crocodile to bring us a great video. Those are some great finds,as far as my pickups this year I would have to say it was the 1980 Barbie Dreamvete my wife got me for Christmas that I will be restoring to match the one used in Grimlens.
Hey Tony, It’s interesting to me when you mentioned about dreadnok cycle action force to gijoe. I had similar experience when I went over to Ireland when my dad mum was unwell and one my cousins was into action force and when I saw duke I was no that GIJoe. We soon discovered it was same toys but label differently. So over the years on Christmas letter we got to write message to each other and he always sent me action force annual and figure and my sister got a Cindy doll. Now my cousin is toy collector and he help me find some action force stuff over there. Anyway great video buddy hope you have good new year eve
Just checking to see if we're ready to start talking about how Road Pig looks like a white punk rock Gary Coleman? No? Just me? Oh ok. That Recondo & kayak are rad. Also, I had brief moment of terror when you were talking about the scrapped Whale footage - for a split second I was scared you were gonna say a Croc snatched it. Awesome episode man! -Dustin
This year I got a 3/4 inch ken the eagle from gatchaman and Jill valentine from the original toy biz resident evil line and her bloody arms popped off the moment i took her out the bubble wrap
In 2023 I added more than 100 figs to my Hasbro AM collection, but best of all I finished editing the Action Man animated series 4K upscale and put it up on my channel. You're welcome, 90s kids Action Man fans 😂
Ok, love the inclusion of the Mutt and Junkyard as an example of a carded figure. Did the Action Force Recondo have any color variations like some of the other Joe to Action Force variations?
Absolutely my favorite top 10 video this year. Thank you for the trip down memory lane
My favourite pick ups were vintage Star Wars figures. I owned about 20 different ones which my son gifted me several years ago because he knew I had them as a child. Hands down, for me. Haslab afterlife proton pack 😊
I'm surprised that GI Joe classified hasn't done moveable eagle eyes..would have thought it would be pretty easy to do these days.
The fire tender is definitely a no brainer, my opinion. Not far behind would be Recondo with the Silent Attack canoe. Continued success and Happy 2024!
Fantastic selection of toys for 2023! You have a great eye for toys and some great friends in this community! Great video!
I am blessed to have wonderful friends in this community and you are one of them!

I’ll be doing mine tomorrow
Great pick ups Tony wishing you a happy new year 🎆!
Great pickups Tony. For my part I only nabbed three Stan Solo figures this year, and nothing else. I fell down the retro video game rabbit hole.
I guess the best pickup for me was kickstarting my own vintage collection with a Bespin Luke Kenner figure.
Excellent production value too brother, color me impressed!

Holy crap the condition on that Killer Whale is insane! Everything is great review, but that and the firefighter win it all for me.

Great find. The Wasp Raider is my favourite of all the different Swarm figures.
Picked up a complete original tmnt Party Wagon for only $25 and Castle Grayskull complete for a steal at $50, good year for me as a collector

Did action force get sold in the USA? I just cant shake the feeling that i played with them in the 80s
I had a drednok cycle still have the thunder machine

Would love for you to give a Ed’s retro style video, in the trenches as it were.

The use of Mutt and Junkyard was a nod to the greatest moderator on UA-cam!
Also, I don't know if any colour variations for Recondo.
