If you need a tighter fit for Hawk's helmet, put the smaller goggles backwards on his head then place the helmet over them. Works for Dusty's helmet as well.

Just got this for Christmas myself. Really good.
This Hawk is pretty great, I'd say he's the second best of his wave right behind Helix, but still a good one to pick up. It isn't shocking that we had to wait a bit for him, but he was worth the wait.
It is an awesome figure,but you can't beat the original, thank you for bringing back my childhood all year I look forward to seeing more of your uploads in 2024, hope you and your family have a wonderful, healthy new year ...nerdmaste 👍
There were a lot of versions of Hawk in the original line, but they never topped the '86 outfit. Happy New Year, all the best in 2024! 🎊

Great review! I just found Hawk in the wild a couple days ago. A neat trick I learned: if you put the small goggles on his head backwards, his helmet fits real snug....and it's a good way to store them

The GL actually somewhat resembles a China lake pump action GL. As does the original Gung Ho one.

So I was trying to remember a cartoon/ toy line from the 80's I had to sit through 4 hours of 80's cartoon intros to find it. Sky Commanders! Have you done an episode about those toys? They were a lot of fun!

Have you heard that the next Transformers / G.I. Joe crossover figure is going to be Optimus Prime and General Hawk? Best pairing yet! Only concern is that Prime turns into a MOBAT which isn't the best choice, but there aren't exactly a lot of Joe trucks. We're also supposed to be getting Sgt. Slaughter and Leatherneck with Kup as the Triple T.
I wish they would just make him a Joe sized red truck instead of trying to find a Joe vehicle alt mode. Prime doesn't work as a military vehicle. If they insist on a Joe tie-in, then maybe as a rescue vehicle, like a firetruck for Barbecue.
@@MichaelMercy Totally agree. I've heard some suggest he should have turned into the APC. Maybe have it pull a trailer like the Coastal Defender as silly as that thing is.

Thank you Michael for this review. I am slowly becoming a G.I. Joe fan by watching your reviews and historical model collection videos. I never knew that there were so many Joe models and vehicles or collectors showcasing their collections. This version of General Hawk looks great (except the black weapons which lack color to identify the differnt materials that make up the guns). A silver or gold handled set of pistols would look great (just like General Pattons pistols form the movie Patton). A combat blade straped to the boots would be great but Hawk is a General and not Rambo, so he gets black pistols. Happy New Year everybody.

I wonder why they made Hawk blonde for the comic books? Or was theblonde comic book Hawk first but then they realized he looks just like Duke?
Yeah, he was blonde in the comics based on the '82 blonde Hawk figure. They gave him the new outfit in the comic in '86 but kept the blonde hair since Larry Hama never used Duke much in the comics.

Thankfully I don't see any resemblance to "Producer ahem Greg" or particularly his partner.
I feel it's a really nice amalgamation of the vintage figure and the cartoon face sculpts/designs.
Always nicely edited and filmed reviews on your end. Overall a home run for the Hasbro team with this one. Some QC problems with the right shoulder on mine but a missing character that is happily now displayed.

Great looking figure! He just looks right. If you have a Sarge, you could probably swap out the hands, and they'd be flesh colored too, with a pointing finger. Great review Michael!! Hope your Christmas and New Years were good to you!! Nerdmaste'! 😘👍
Thanks! I tried a Sarge hand and they're not compatible. The Sarge pegs are longer so you'd have to do some cutting or drilling. Happy New Year!

Gridiron props has some good pistols to replace the ones he comes with.
Yeah the white and gold one from the Hawk load-out looks great.
The same thing that you had to do with Dusty you can do with General Hawk you take the goggles that normally fit on his face you turn them around put them on his forehead and you put the helmet on his head and it will sit perfectly without even noticing the other goggles on his forehead

I was wondering if those stands work on all or most of the G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES. And what seller on Ebay did you get them from? These figures cost enough that they could add a stand to every figure. They did it to the CLASSIFIED RETRO 6" line. Thanks for your time!
They've worked on every Classified figure I've tried. I just searched "GI Joe Classified Stands" on eBay and some came up. Star Wars Black series stands work too.

That was a great suggestion, thanks! Just tried it though and it doesn't work. Sarge's wrist pegs are longer than Hawk's for some reason. Drilling the holes in Hawk's wrists to make them deeper would be required. I don't mind the gloved look so I'll just leave it as it is.
@@MichaelMercy with that info I'll get some extra Sarge hands from a kit bash seller on ebay and shave down the peg. That might be easier that drilling Hawk. Just a thought.
Hope you can get it to work. You might be cutting off the part that catches and keeps the hand from falling out.
