The term “conspiracy theory” made its grand entrance into American lexicon when, shortly after the JFK assassination, people began questioning the assertion that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin, and that he acted alone.

With leaked footage of the missile going into the pentagon on 9/11, not a plane, which would of made a waaààaay bigger hole, and what I've been saying since day 1, no grass was torn up in the planes path, meaning amateurs would of had to do what no pilot in the history of the world could of done, hover o passenger plane 2ft above ground without ever touching down, then crashing into a building that knew a 4th i"plane" was off course heading str8 for DC, but they let it hit its mark even if it was going to be the WH. Not a chance if that was a plane that they don't shoot it down. This means Bush jr headed that event. He even admitted it in 2 speeches when he said "when i was watching that 1st plane hit, from just outside the classroom(meaning in the morning he was seeing it), abd being a pilot myself, i thought what a terrible pilot that was". There was no video of the 1st plane until late in the afternoonz remember no phones then

Google's N-gram viewer shows that use of that phrase predated that event.

Russell Brand has been a resource since 2019. I'm 64 and don't love all of his comedy, but I have read all three of his books, and he's a very intelligent man. Being political commentators in this day and age is actually a vital role, few do their own original research, however by sharing it, discussion of other than the one narrative, including The Hill, we all can get more information that otherwise wouldn't be heard. Thank you.
I agree, I don't think he's particularly funny but I've gained tremendous respect for him in the past couple years. He's much better at reporting than comedy. He's definitely coming from a pretty well intentioned place, much like Joe Rogan.

It's rare to see intellectual honesty on The Hill... Even more rare is a hosts ability to string a series of words together coherently without filler words or sounds or stumbling through difficult pronunciations that should be straight forward.
These "commentators" on shows like Rising SHOULD be skilled orators... If they are not doing the research and/or not covering the topic in a neutral good faith manner... Then at the VERY LEAST they should be skilled speakers...or they simply shouldn't be hired.

Although flat earthers tend to harbor many conspiracy theories to explain their position, the difference is their claims are often demonstrably false. When it comes to the modern governmental interference and censorship campaigns...it's kind of a mixed bag with both credible and questionable evidence, and almost no one has similar beliefs or backgrounds other than not believing in the spoken narrative of some claims.
No matter how much you'd like it to be, it still isn't. Crackpots and loons are still the only types that traffic in these stories. It's a shame what happened to Russell Brand, because I used to think he was a very funny comedian. On the other hand, Jimmy Dore was never funny to begin with.
Brie and Robbie nailed it on this one. Thanks for continuing to wake up. Thanks for getting it that nuance is Necessary, when discussing the news or just about anything else and that smoke and mirrors still exists.

Nobody wants to hear "Rising's" take on how to determine whats true and false when it comes to conspiracy theories. Most of the so called conspiracy theories that Rising was denying and making fun of over the past few years have been proven true. So where was "Rising's" discernment and research then? Also an apology for Kim Iversen.

How does Bri know the pentagon’s budget when they haven’t passed an audit in over a decade. Trillions of dollars unaccounted for and no one questions it.

I suspect she uses available information, like every other serious person does. The fact that the Pentagon hasn't passed an audit makes me believe that her figures are conservative.
In other words, more money than she says goes to the private sector. It doesn't change the point.

Nah he's really not. I used to be subscribed to him til just recently. If you've been watching him at all lately, he's going down a Dave Rubin rabbit hole of doing red pill framing garbage on his show. True some conspiracy theories are true, but the guy was just talking about how Jan 6 was an inside job yesterday by the FBI with basically no evidence for the case, an argument that only works to bolster the position of the far right insurrectionists.

It's always good to determine whether information is correct or not. It is IMPERATIVE that you never approach news as a believer. Be open minded and skeptical instead.
Some call any attempt to debate issues a conspiracy theory. Others turn every little bit of ambiguous information into a conspiracy theory.

It happened after a year of rioting and violence, causing 5 Billion $ in damages and 30 lives. There was one life lost. Ashli Babbit. A protester. The media has made this into 5 deaths… never happened.!

They don't mind that people know these things. They care about whether the truth becomes the dominant narrative. The more people believe these things without discussing them, the more powerful the government and their underworld companions get. The question is whether distrust reaches a critical mass before AI completely controls people's perceptions of the rest of society's beliefs.

Us "conspiracy theorists" have been saying all of this for years. If you support the establishment and don't want anyone questioning them- calling them a conspiracy theorist is the easiest laziest smear you can throw at them.
I want Media Matters publicly audited. I want to know where they get their money from. Do they ever get tax payer dollars? I want the sunlight on them so bright it’s blinding.

I subscribed to Russell Brands youtube channel when he was at about 100,000 subscribers. What I've learnt after all these years blows most people away and I've lost family and friends when I try to tell them, I've literally had people wanting to fight me!?!? I just don't get people, it's like the truth is too painful to accept so they do anything to avoid it.
