Under maritime law, of which spacers would be beholden to, you are required to respond to distress signals and under normal circumstances you would be charged with a crime for ignoring a SOS.
I don’t think it’s as applicable here, seeing as ol’ Nelson here is working in a corporate scrapyard teeming with pirates. That, and his radio was not functional, so at no point would he have been aware of the SOS.
@@Birrihappyface But he got the SOS and his logs would have said so. Just because there are pirates does not mean that under the law you do not respond to a SOS. At minimum you would be required to report it ASAP and send out a signal to see if anyone else could assist.
On whether to install the reactor, there is a radiation factor to consider; the reactor will irradiate you if it isn't sufficiently separated from the crew quarters. The main use for the reactor is to power the torch drive for long distance travel, although some people will use it to recharge batteries, but it is expensive to run, so it isn't something you want to leave powered up unless you actually need it running. At this point, you should probably just sell it, as your ship is much too small for a reactor.
I really want to play this game. Something about being some space pirate with sort of cyberpunk levels of corruption in government sounds really fun to me. But also on the other hand, having to deal with those fines, the money needed for the license, the docking 'minigame,' and docking fees sound like hell and very frustrating for my brain to even want to touch the game lol
I know little about it except for whats in this series, but something tells me stealing smth called a damn "Starship" is pretty risky and such a bold take, i'd have you for a captain :D
@@silentmuse6660 the “minigame” is alright imo, maybe does get slightly repetitive but it’s not hard at all, literally just wasd your way to align the clamps and press a button, and spaceflight is basically the same but on a large map the really hard part is when you want to upscale your ship/fix up a wreck and get around to the part where you have to get all the life support and flight controls working properly

Racks can hold bulkhead items, air pumps, and gas tanks. Storage bays can hold doors, some bulkheads, and some racks.
If you have a weird approach vector to a derelict or K-leg, you can always go to nav, hit 'k' or the 'match speed' button and then your ship will 0 out it's approach, makes docking super easy.
Im already loving this serie, I jusy finish washing all the episodes and I keep wanting more, the game is really cool and seeing you play it make it more understandable
Having quite a few hours in the game myself now, you seem to have gone for the reactor setup far too early. Your ship is tiny and in bad need of repair. You don't have the space or need long distance travel at this point. Sell it all and build out your ship. You can salvage the reactor stuff later
I definitely see your point, and Lime seriously considered doing that too, but I feel like now that he's economically stable and doesn't need the money from the reactor, he can tuck it away in an external wing and mostly forget about it until it's needed, saving him the annoying treasure hunt of looking for every piece individually. If there was some way to store parts in a secure place and return for them later he would've definitely preferred that, though

If you just use the interaction "drop", the items will just stack on top of others if there's no space on the floor. That's how I got 400k worth of loot sold in one go, effectively halving my mortgage.
Really enjoying this series! The game looks pretty complicated but I might have to give it a try after this... Also that meat at the end is um.... that's concerning. But I mean, I'm now more interested than ever in the next one, so, good place to end the episode!
Ostranauts just gave me a great idea on how to commit a space terrorism. First find a big enough abandoned/stolen ship for your intended target Fix up navigation, thrusters, and some power. Enough to get it moving to where you want it to. Set it to full thrust towards whoever you don't like Detach your own ship and get some popcorn Congrats, space criminal!
Lime, if you want some space for stuff/ a reactor you can hack open some of the old storage rooms in Port Azikiwe. Just don’t get caught and remember the door codes!
I really hope that Ostranauts becomes a permanent game on this channel, it fits Lime so well and he enjoys playing it and I enjoy watching him play it.
You know, I've been watching some of your older videos from a few years ago (i.e., the spoon saga) while also watching the latest ones, and it's funny to see how your style has changed. I think I prefer the more cerebral, thoughtful commentary you do now, but the old wackiness is adorable haha
Just sat down to start eating dinner, and saw this beautiful work of art on my feed. I audibly screamed. Still hoping for more of these per week! If not atleast make them longer Lime? Sub 40 mins is pain
you just talk to them, but can be frustrating to manage, as the game AI's are really buggy; even the captain has to be carefully controlled or they will accidentally kill themselves, and employees are no different. Additionally, if they manage to get some money or valuables, they may just quit and run off.
What I actually did when I built my ship to fit a reactor room was just leave all the pieces of it in the free tutorial room, then I found out you can just leave them anywhere in the station without it disappearing or maybe I just got lucky that none of it disappeared. 😅
Just a bit of tip. At the bottom right you have thruster output. So if the g-force is too high you can lower it do you dont injure yourself, knock yourself out or worse die.
be careful I don't know if they fixed it yet but there is a quest involving strange meat that is bugged last I checked where until you finish that side quest to investigate the meat then every ship is going to be full of it and very little of anything else.
Good stuff. Though I must admit my first combat experience was super jank. Wish the game was a bit better on that front, but such is the way. The game is great in many other ways.
Today Nelson learned to pay dock fees before sleeping next time! Really looking forward to getting that reactor chamber done, super cool stuff. The combat seemed pretty straightforward too, I see the potential for it to turn quickly toward a side. That pulsating meat is alarming, that has something to do with the meat wrapper from before doesn't it?! Any chance we could buy a flamethrower or something in case of a fleshbeast? Good luck Lime!
