Absolutely love the warrior. I used to hate the close position of the volume knob to the bridge pickup, but adjusting to it helped me realize I was wasting a lot of motion moving my right hand too much when playing. I've seen a lot of custom shop warriors where they deliberately move the knobs back, so I don't think we're the first people to feel that way about the stock knob placement.
I like this guitar but I’m primarily a 7 string guy. Can’t believe they gave us a baritone 6 warrior before a baritone 7 string one. Gonna save my money for hopefully a baritone update to the Dave Davidson sig. I love every feature of this except the string count lol
As usual, Jackson is always just a few cents short of greatness. No Hipshot bridge, no good tuners, shitty 20usd gigbag for 1500usd? Missed opportunity 😓😓
I think the tuners are really good! Just because they're jackson branded doesn't mean they're bad. I get what you're saying about the gig bag, but also my Kelly didn't come with anything, so I thought it was cool they included something. Yeah, no defense on the hipshot though lol.
@@TaylorDanleyI'd wager that they're Ping tuners. Never had an issue with the branded stuff on an LTD/Schecter/Jackson. I've had worse luck with Hipshot tuners, unfortunately.
they should make the kill switch pressure sensitive like a playstation controller, that way you could do volume swells as well to really control the instrument better than just on/off.
Of course you were wrong about the Warrior winning the poll lol, it does not have nearly as sexy of a shape as the Kelly (Explorer). However, I still think the Warrior looks pretty cool, It is just that the Kelly looks more beautiful / sexy and would blend in with more genres/environments. A Jackson Kelly with a 27" scale neck, neck through and Nazgul & Sentient Duncan pickups I bet would be such an awesome guitar to play extreme, down-tuned metal with like Humanity's Last Breath for example ? Ibanez have a cheaper 6 string baritone with EMG's and a somewhat longer 28" neck scale, but that guitar has bolt on neck and I prefer the passive Duncan pickups, shame because the price on the Ibanez is more budget friendly these Jackson Pro's are like 1300€ in Europe =(
If these had active pickups like EMG 81 or Fishman Modern I would've grabbed one immediately lol. I also prefer the Floyd Rose bridge. I've had issues in the past with down-tuning on that Jackson HT6 hardtail bridge or whatever they call it. Unless they learned from their past baritones and actually made it where those saddles can handle thicker gauges. Andrew seems to have no issues on his in drop E.
I wish I could afford one but alas we been having hard times for 3 months now and more than 10k behind on bills. Maybe if they still have them in 2 years once i catch back up. Thank you for the review and I love the sound and looks.
Great looking guitar fur sure! I bought a baritone 7-string LTD and it's totally fine to play, best 7-string i ever had. Bendings are probably a bit harder than with "normal" scale but it's fine for me, works as my everyday guitar. The only thing which bothers me is that most wound strings are a bit short for it, with some D'Addario sets i run out of the wound part before i reach the tuner.
I think if you were using strings with the same tension on baritone vs 25.5" (or whatever scale), the bending would feel the same.. It's more like you can get away with thinner strings on a baritone because of the increased length. Which makes a lot of sense for super low tunings, because having an .80 on the low end is a little TOO chungus
I personally love the Warrior shape because I'm a long time Revocation fan and Dave Davidson is a monster. Although I kinda don't see the appeal of a baritone 6 when you get a 7 string. Maybe that's just me though. I personally don't believe in less is more when it comes to an instrument's range (I play 6 string bass exclusively in any project I participate in). Still trying to get the guitar player in my band to try a guitar with a longer scale length, but I can't get him to budge since he has a very strong distaste for baritone guitars and drop tuning as a whole. He just doesn't believe in playing in anything other than standard tuning.
Yeah, Dave really has a lot to do with it coming back into the zeitgeist IMO. Incredible band, and player. I didn't think the baritone adjustment was that bad on this guitar. Probably because Jackson has a really good neck profile, but I get the distaste for baritones as someone with small hands.
