Nice build Ted. that helmet pattern of yours is pretty universal. Slight tweaks and its applicable to a whole host of uses from centurion to knight to space alien. Truly evergreen.
Thank you.
Looks like something from the old tv show "Space 1999". Not that im that old or have seen that show in anything but reruns 😂.
Well I'am that old! Loved the show when I saw in my teens. Thats why I painted the helmet orange.
Space 1999 helmet was yellow
Anyways do you have a pattern for the foam cut outs or any measurements?
It’s cool to see your techniques and product preferences evolve over time. You’re awesome Ted!!
Thank you. You never stop learning.
Space Helmets for the masses ❤
Yes, for everyone.
I was on when you started the skull build. That inspired me to build my own skull last Halloween.
Well done!
Love the new opening!!!!!
Thank you so much. It was long over due!
I can't wait for this. I have been struggling to come up with a space helmet design for a no budget Sci-fi film I am working on and I hope this will be of some help :D
I'm sure this with solve your problems. So happy with this pattern. I took a while to get it were I could post it.
@@EvilTedSmith thank, I'll make a few changes, just so it's not exactly the same as the one in Space Wars
Love space helmets!
Me too!
I think I'm going to use this pattern for my HEV Suit cosplay! (that I'm eventually going to make, lol!) Thank you for posting this wonderful video :]
Thank you for watching and subscribing.
I’ve been looking everywhere including your website for a good helmet with a neck ring that I’m able to attach to my suit to the point where I currently have someone 3d printing it for me
You're wait is over the pattern is now available in my shop. eviltedsmith.com/shop/space-helmet/
I alternate polarities, so there's only one right way for parts to hold together.
I imagine this works really well for left and right parts, or when you have to put multiples of spikes or other trim onto a costume. Make sure they all sit in the right areas at the right angles. Great tip!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It reminds me so much of alien that industrial look . I have been rewatching your vampire hunter d stuff as my message from mars kickstart stuff shipped great comic unfortunately a case of the variable sword length.
ooh, new intro
Yes, I so happy how it turned out!
This is such perfection. I can't wait to get started on this! Knew I needed 8mm foam for something, still gotta pick that up.
I noticed when you are doing the flat edges of the bottom of the helmet and top of the neck collar, you have to Dremel them down for the flatness to lay on the neck ring. Can you just do the initial cuts at an angle over those areas to simplify it? Or is the angle so miniscule it's not worth it to try? I have a tool called Bev-All that let's me select popular increments of cut angle like 90°, 45°, & down to 22° I think.
Yeah that should work. Let me know how it turns out.
Hey Ted! Thanks for sharing this build! I'd love to try this but am curious a bit more about the first steps. If I purchase the build pattern is it possible to print it from a standard printer, printing on 8 1/2 by 11 paper and get the right measurements? I'm just curious about those first few steps.
Yes, you can print them on a stander printer.
Do you have a video on building a jeager chest/torso piece?
Wonderful! How many hours of labor did making this take?
About 4 to 5 days...
Is there any way to make your own visor or is it a bad idea?
The visor I found was the reason for the helmet build. Without it I couldn't have built the Space Helmet.
To take this 1 step further, could you show us how to put carbon fiber on outside the helmet??
Here you go. ua-cam.com/video/8S4hbMYC5zs/v-deo.html
is the acrylic dome in the parts list meant to be a replacement for the visor you used?
You mean this one? bit.ly/3LZbtOJ
@@EvilTedSmith Oh thank you I may have missed that
Is there a child sized pattern available? Or is it possible to modify the patterns to fit a child?
You could but I designed the pattern to fit the visor. So you should build it as is. It will fit the child.
Hello Evil Ted
Hello to you too.
Where do you get that visor?
Found it in the comments thx !
I have the link for them below video.
What type of adhesive
That is listed below the video.
@@EvilTedSmith can't find it. But in the time you wrote your answer you couldn't have just said.........glue.
