When you print your masters out of resin- how do you deal with Platinum silicone curing inhibition? Do you take extra time to cure your prints? Cover them with acrylic spray? I bought a curing station and have even waited a month to make molds and I still get cure inhibition on my Moldstar 30.
Yeah this is a problem I struggle with too. I wash and scrub the print with alcohol, let it soak in the alcohol for a while, take it out and wash it under running clean water. I then put it in a repurposed ultrasonic jewelry cleaner with dish soap and let it shake around in there for like 30 minutes. Then I just let it air dry under the sun for 2 days. After that point, I put it under UV light just to be safe (for like 10 minutes) before attempting to make a mold out of it. I know it sounds like a lot... but this is what I found works for making sure it is clean. Better than wasting your silicone!
Thank you for sharing your behind the scenes! It's so interesting to watch your trial and error process. Was kinda curious how long some of these steps typically take you? (like waiting for things to cure, sculpting, or making 7 production molds one at a time)
thank you so much for watching!!!! The sculpting took place over a couple months.. (not continuously.. just whenever I had time). Curing usually takes several hours at a time - since I tend to use resin with slow cure times! Making the 7 production molds took like a week? since it was basically waiting for curing on repeat haha.
