Back in the early 1980s I was the editor of a national collecting magazine called Collectibles Illustrated. During that time I appeared on hundreds of radio and television programs all over North America promoting the magazine and talking about collectibles. On May 6, 1982, I appeared on the Roy Leonard Show on WGN in Chicago. Leonard was a very popular broadcast personality in the Windy City whose midday show on WGN ran for 31 years. I found him to be a very pleasant host who made his guests and radio listeners feel welcomed and relaxed. Roy Leonard came to WGN from Boston in 1967 and retired from the station in 1998. Roy Leonard passed away in 2014 at the age of 83.
