Both environments demand infantrymen that are extremely fit and agile, only lightly equipped (less than 20 kilograms for a 48 hour fighting load) and stealthy. Weighing down troops with all aspect armour, giving them 7.62 NATO or equivalent muzzle energy rifles, giving them exoskeletons and datalinks and a thousand gadgets does not improve upon the fact that in recent, infantry intensive operations such as Afghanistan and Iraq, Coalition troops were overburdened with over 50kg of kit, too slow to close with the enemy and overdependant upon fast air. If anything, exoskeletons will only make commanders more free to overburden troops even more, while all that gadgetry will not be conducive to stealth or agility. Cue the stories of worn out knees, compressed vertebrae and neck and hip injuries. If there is going to be a Third World War that does not end in nuclear escalation, the Cold War equipment and mindset of NATO armies is still as relevant and as effective. The infantryman is to close with and destroy opponents within 300 meters, or at least pin them long enough for fire support. Similarly they must be stealthy enough and quick enough to get close enough to engage, and get away from incoming enemy artillery and heavy weapons. Weighing them down with enough kit to rival their body weight is not going to be conducive to either. And there is no amount of armour you can slap on a soldier to protect against 152mm artillery shells or a volley of grenades from an AGS-30, or thermobaric warheads. But efficacy and doctrine that doesn't justify billion dollar boondoggles and wasteful budgets and procurement programs seems to be light on the ground.

It was modular as fuck and a really nice, slick little rifle but it had too many issues for them to undergo the collossal undertaking and logistical clusterfuck that would've been replacing the m16. Now I'm certain with some tender love and field trials, those issues could've been remediated down the line, but the powers that be decided it wasn't good enough to warrant uprooting our tried and true platform that would only end up getting better with time. Even if we had adopted the XM8, I have a feeling we probably would still be in the market for a new rifle at this point in time due to the fact that pretty much all of our weapons systems are currently considered legacy systems.

Having a minimap connected to a drone will only distract and confuse you, in fact the whole mask itself is just one massive confusing mess that WILL inevitably reduce performance, it's worth it if it's armored, otherwise don't bother.
They were eventually able to equip everyone with assault rifles. I'm sure it will be Spec Ops first, but then later on when production tech gets better, it will be included for every soldier.
They're working on bullets that alter their flight and there's scopes that make all the calculations for you and track targets. It makes a cross hair in your sights. You just line up your crosshair with the one it makes. Or at least that's how i understood it...

Not nearly as many augmentations having to sprint and lower their weapon (Bro, Spartan-IIs and IIIs constantly sprint, the speed Madter Chief moved at in Combat evolved, to Halo 3 (Full speed.) was Master Chief Sprinting, that’s why I say Halo Infinite should give us options. If we’re a Spartan 2 make us automatically the same speed as a Sprinting S-4 without sprinting, instead turn the sprint where you lower your gun, into a armor ability like it was in Reach, since it’s more of a speed boost than actual sprint. Besides the fact that they will probably be armour plated, regular lithium ion batteries will not be powerful enough to run the suit, they will more likely be powered by solid state batteries which preform the same regardless of climate and only loose a little energy if punctured.

apparently we are fighting across the world with technology like this. if i were to command soldiers in a foreign country how to fight, i would have them 1. outnumber the enemy army 2. learn to watch your back once in a while 3. always fall back if outnumbered. 4. if you manage to kill a high tech soldier, check your surroundings, go with your team, and take the suit. run back, reverse engineer it, then you can fight the us army like that.

Having a minimap connected to a drone will only distract and confuse you, in fact the whole mask itself is just one massive confusing mess that WILL inevitably reduce performance, it's worth it if it's armored, otherwise don't bother.

WeBe Flexin well if the battery dies and leaks acid all over you while you’re stuck in a suit of power armor you’re fucked, and immobile. Many shots can be survived, especially with armor, and even more so with the armor they would supposedly be able to pack on to this suit since it can handle more weight.

You dont even need to shoot at them, just wait for bad weather. Be it heavy prolonged rain, snow/cold, sandstorms, extreme heat, muddy conditions. With such a high tech suit breakdowns are going to happen, and the worse the weather, the more breakdowns, the US army is going to end up haveing as many technicians as they have combat troops, since i doubt you can trust your regular grunt with maintanance of hig tech stuf.

Because of this the weapon company will make weapons capable of destroying that vest
Besides the fact that they will probably be armour plated, regular lithium ion batteries will not be powerful enough to run the suit, they will more likely be powered by solid state batteries which preform the same regardless of climate and only loose a little energy if punctured.

if i were to command soldiers in a foreign country how to fight, i would have them 1. outnumber the enemy army 2. learn to watch your back once in a while 3. always fall back if outnumbered. 4. if you manage to kill a high tech soldier, check your surroundings, go with your team, and take the suit. run back, reverse engineer it, then you can fight the us army like that.
