Next time I buy dice at the store I'm whipping out a salt bath right there.

      Ingenious! Bonkers but ingenious nonetheless.

Did you check to see if any if your "unbalanced dice" actually delivered a noticeable difference in practice? This salt bath test detects irregularities that will not be noticeable in playing an rpg with the limited number of rolls made. The "gut feel" needs to be really tested by rolling a statistically significant number of times. And you are most likely going to see little to be worried about. These irregularities are nothing like weighted dice used in gambling cheating. Nicely made video, but the salt bath thing is just way over the top.

@jameshenderson4876 Heya! I'll first take the compliment on it being nicely made! Thanks!
But to your point, I do indeed roll my separated dice that fail the saltwater test afterward. Some (like that red D20 shown) demonstrate issues that are incredibly obvious with the result of the test in context, while others had more of a general tendency. But in every case, I found there was a verified issue. I totally understand if these minor rolling tendencies aren't that important to many players. To each their own! It's just my own personal bugbear, and seeing how paranoia about dice got under the skin of other players I know, I thought I'd share my approach to better mental calm about it.
I very much appreciate you voicing this counterpoint! Thank you for offering it.
      Sidenote:
I apologise if I made weighted and naturally unbalanced dice sound synonymous, I was actually trying to make the difference between the two clear as I have encountered players who were interested in having the difference explained.

@therocketboost Tha k you for the polite reply with your findings! If something is way off, then indeed good to remove! And if generally doing the test feels right for you, then is definitely worth doing!
