It would be cool if boat builders made some useful space where the engines were on inboards when you change it to outboards.
They do, they call them a lazaret and they are huge on the formulas. They normally house a sea keeper gyro stabilizer and a generator and have ample space for paddle boards, seabobs, and all your lines and fenders with room to spare.
