I love this boat. I think I've seen every UA-cam video on it. I don't know why it's taken me so long to view this one, but it is by far the best, most inclusive video of this boat! Thank you.
State of the Art on every level. Newest technology & features in a sexy package. Personally I’d lunch on the swim platform with the V12s every afternoon. Each engine: 600-hp, 7.6-liter V-12 weighs 1,260 pounds (Mercury’s 450R weighs 689 pounds).
Still waiting for that lottery win ,so I will keep on dreaming wow what a boat I know my descriptions doesn’t do the boat justice , another great video by boat test and Steve
Nice review of the features on the new Formula. I like the way you split the reviews on this one into a performance review and a features section. It was also very kind of you to release both videos close together LOL One request, if you can get the info from the manufacturer. Could you give an "at the time of publication" MSRP on these?
I like the 500 SSC, however, now they are $2.9 Million retail and I can't imagine spending that on this boat when the Azimut Verve 47, which has infinitely sexier lines and has much better staterooms, is over $1 Million cheaper.
Capt. Steve - Great reviews as usual. I love almost everything about this boat - they could've read my mind when they were designing it except for one detail that I'm curious about. The full beam greenhouse and fixed glass gives great interior salon space, but it effectively eliminates on board access to the port and starboard sides, including the midship cleats. How does this impact things like hanging fenders before docking or rafting up with a companion boat? One other question - for an outboard boat, the 51" draft is a bit high. Is that at the stern with outboards down? Thanks again for the fantastic reviews.
There's a lot to like about this boat its a shame they don't do an inboard diesel version though that alone unfortunately makes it impractical which is a shame
@@darthkek1953 it may well be but there's a massive lack of diesels in that day boat style seemingly world wide so unless you want to go with a bigger cruiser your options are kinda limited. Its unfortunate the nearest petrol supply to me is nearly 200 miles away and i'd love an open boat like this or an Axopar maybe but because of the insistence of sticking on massive outboards it completely rules me out of that style of boat which is a huge shame as it ticks a lot of boxes for what I use the boat for.
@@DavesBoat Fairline 33 and Princess R35 Dolvik D33 are the slightly shorter performance diesel inboard dayboats (with cabins). But what is a "dayboat style" here? It's a two cabin coupé.
@@darthkek1953 What is a day boat is a good question tbh and I think it depends which side of the Atlantic you live on :) Over here this would be categorised as a day boat as its very much focused around one level living great for entertaining and having a day out on the water messing around. The princess and fairlines yes have the diesel options but are also a lot smaller and cannot support as many people especially with the formula's massive bow rider section taken into account, which again is something you don't really get over here at all. The closest we really get over here are what seem to have started being termed SUV's Saxdor, Nimbus, Axopar. In the 50 foot range really over here you're looking at a Sunseeker Predator, Princess V series all have big inboard diesel options but aren't really the type of boat you'd load up with a few friends and just go have a party on the water in they're the kind you load up a few friends and go away for a weekend. Which brings me back round to my initial comment the boat has loads going for it from a socialising point of view and even just a you and the missus go away for an over nighter, doesn't really have fully separate cabins but its enough for you to do a one nighter on and the rest is focused around entertaining friends and having fun, the downside is boats like that always seem to be loaded with big petrol outboards and getting petrol in the UK is an exercise in insanity as you do a million runs back to the fuel station and back with jerry cans.
@@DavesBoat there are many berths not just in the UK but around France, etc., where gasoline (petrol) is not available and even when you can get it it's hellish expensive compared to the USA hence far fewer heavy duty petrol machines (you do get some, e.g. Anytec 1221 SPD). Another thing is certification is different, it'd be illegal to have as many people on water as US dayboats have.
@@tacodias The Mercs are $77k each MSRP so a little over $300k for the engines. Seaforce IX has a new one (61 feet long) under construction to take _SIX_ of those outboards.
@@tacodias The outboard configuration is often lighter in weight than inboards giving the _same_ power. 6 of the V12's would weigh about 3,423kg (7,500lbs). A pair of MAN 1,800hp engines (NOT including transmissions and drivetrain) weigh 4,760kg (10,500lbs). Outboards are also easier to maintain.
I am just a little “worrying” about our environment. Will there be a full electric version of this boat ???. That would be an awesome boat indeed !!!❤️❤️❤️
I posted a similar comment in the performance video. I actually thought you could get a 60 Evo or a Princess V 60 for that price. Well, in any event you could at least have a 55EVO or a V55. That’s a no brainer in my opinion.
🤯 I could easily live happily in that boat cruising around the caribbean islands❣️
Must be nice to have a dream without knowing the nightmare
That's one gorgeous, well-appointed, well-finished, high-value beast.
But enough about Steve, the boat is pretty great too.

I recently bought a 430ssc. great boat. Mine is a 2018. I definitely recommend a formula they are such great boats.
They're premium and fantastic customer service
Beautiful boat, great review Capt. Steve!
Wow, now that’s more than a day boat! Outstanding!
Well, I did want a Sea Ray 400 until I saw this. What a boat!
Absolutely beautiful, gran slam for Formula .
Amazing , every detail thought out to perfection. Beautiful boat!
Since these boats have been shown they have revolutionized the luxury boat industry . This is the perfect boat for anything .
Capt. Steve, you do the BEST reviews!

LOL, that MIB-CAB make you look like a basketball player, LOL. I love the lay out
I like the Hobbit hole mid cabin! Very cute. I’m sure it would be fine for a couple of days for adults. Might be perfect for children.
Let's face it, this is a weekender this is not a 6 months at a time cruiser. That mid-cabin will be fine.
Extremely nice looking boat...
Glam for sure . Mini cruise ship intimate charters will be the future fortune 500 business .
Wow. That is some boat! Bet it’s about 2 million bucks!
Really well sorted out power boat. The whole boat is complete package from performance to comfort as Well the designer touches. Good presentation 😎👍

I believe they're 2.8 without options added
@@Stayinurlanepal That sounds about right based on the pricing for their smaller boats.
Wow! So many thoughtful details!

That's a good point. Never thought about that. Hmmmm
Amazing! Come on Lotto!
I wondered if one could extend the range by shutting down the 2 inboards and raising them. If not, seems like a good option to have.
Awesome boat!
This boat is sweet!
I think this just passed the Sea Ray SLX 400 as my favorite boat
Definitely
@Tyrone Shoelaces once you start adding options that SeaRay gets close to a million quick
Nice boat!.lots of gadgets and gizmos, but the price is way too high..lots of cheaper choices!
This is a status ride for multi-millionaires.
As you say, plenty of alternatives for the working man!!
This is one of those boats they say if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it. The engines alone have to be close to 200k..

A perfect cruiser for the empty nesters.... like ME!

I'd like to see a pocket door to separate rear quarters.
Caribbean craft!
What in your opinion is the cheapest best boat to do the Great Loop?
Greenline -- It is in my opinion. What better boat economically than one that can shut down the main and still remain underway. - Capt Steve
Sure beats my Mirrocraft tiller steer.
Super awesome!!!

A cool 3 million 😎

Not practical as a day boat, too big, and not practical as a long time cruiser with only one head and gas engines. Makes no sense.
