Despite economic troubles they are got AIP subs and we despite having enough funds delay P75i.
Yes, but we don't have to wait for P75I. The Navy will integrate DRDO-developed AIP system in their 9 (including the upcoming 3) Kalvari-class submarines. So we'll have 9 submarines with AIP without P75I. But it's true that we desperately need 10-15 additional submarines to replace Navy's old fleet of Sindhughosh & Shishumar-class submarines. As per the plan, the navy will acquire 6 units under P75I and literally 12 indigenous units under P76. If this happens, the navy will have 27 fresh AIP submarines even after the retirement of the old 11 submarines.
In simple analogy it can be understood as Pakistan being the most desired prostitute for china, so china takes care of their military needs. Unlike them india is not interested in selling self dignity to another country. Despite not backed by any country for unlimited military aid, India is doing a great job in balancing both economical and military supremacy

Subodh jee, what's the use to know in details the entire configuration of Chinese submarines for layman like us. As an Indian I am worried at the rate China is supplying submarines to India. Whereas we are still stuck with our project 75i . We still couldn't decide which offer to consider Germany or Spain. Very sorry state of affairs to say the least.
Our defense forces should be very cognizant of these powerful platforms and evolve a strategy to counter. It is a fact that we all need to agree that the over all depth of Pakistan defense capabilities are increasing

Technically, Pakistan has only 3 attack submarines. Their 2 Agosta 70 submarines are too old to be used in any major conflict, so it is necessary for them to acquire new submarines for replacing old fleet.

I think both Navy and the Government should really get serious around defence equipment’s and take steps to cut the red tape so that production and induction is fast tracked. There should always be a plan B, and not stick to our traditional approach.
We should have invested more in our navy at least two decades back. Even though we are investing more now, it is not sufficient since we need to see the big picture two to three decades away and prepare ourselves for it

Bro it's true for china but Pakistan has quite same condition, most of the fighter aircrafts in Pakistani af is too old like f-7, Mirage 3 and Mirage 5 these aircrafts makes half of Pak. fighter aircraft number strength. And Pakistan has 5 active submarines 2 of these are 45-50 years old and same you'll see in artillery they are using literally howitzers like 25-pounder (1200+ units ). In next 10-15 years you'll see huge difference between Indian and Pakistani military in numbers , because Pakistan can't afford to replace a single weapon with another they'll retire 2 weapons and will induct one as a replacement they have to compromise with numbers, because of their economy. Most of their military weapons are just relying on upgrades , out of their 2000+ battle tanks 1000 are 1st generation tanks and 768 are 2nd generation tanks only 320 t-80s,410 Al Khalil & 174 vt-4 are 3rd generation tanks.

And Pakistan will induct 800 vt-4 according to you to replace 1768 1st and 2nd generation tanks so Pakistan will retire 1768 tanks and will induct 800 new tanks, it'll definitely reduce the overall number of tanks & fighters of Pakistani military. Pakistan is modernising their military and it'll cause reduced numbers if Pak want to maintain big numbers than they have to buy used old weapons and just have to rely on upgrades you can't maintain quality and quantity with this military budget, if Pakistani want than Pakistan need defence budget of atleast $25 Billion per year, and as per 2024 report's Pakistan's defence budget is just $8.5 billion it's reduced. And it's not possible for Pakistan to increase defence budget by 300% with such economic conditions.

Nuclear submarines are expensive but they gives you a big advantage over opponent, specially a ssbn Submarine India has 2 operation ssbn's and 5 more ssbn's & 7 ssn's will become operational in future. Ssbn gives you second nuclear strike capability which is a huuuge thing. That's why American navy is true blue water navy because of 50+ nuclear submarines and 11 nuclear power aircraft carriers.

China got the Stirling AIP system from Sweden. Only Sweden, Japan(imported from Sweden) and China use Stirling AIP, those are proven but kinda obsolete, much like French MESMA. India is developing a fuel-cell AIP, something that not many countries have developed yet, not even China.

It is not that they purchased it today. This decision was made long time ago & most likely the amount has been paid already because since then , 5-6 defense budgets were passed & implemented. It is a major purchase since TOT & manufacturing equipment etc are to be provided to the buyer.
There is a misconception also that Pak defense budget is 6-8 billion dollars. It is around 18-21 billion dollars since they don't include pension of aed forces in defense budget unlike India (USA also doesn't include pension in defence budget)

Pakistan going to acquire 8 subs suddenly some Indians forget we operate 8 Scorpenes with 3 more on order... No to mention S4 which was recently completed. Additionally we also operate the second largest fleet of anti-sub P8I aircraft equipped with missiles... We also have Kamortta class Anti-sub corvettes..
Scorpenes are great but we currently don't have any AIP subs.
