I watched something rom a nirvana documentary, and one of the producers that helped made this song, said kurt was frustrated at first because he couldn't hit some notes that he originally was supposed to sing. so then he just went to lay down on a couch in the studio, while doing that he randomly started to whisper/sing the lyrics, and it sounded good. that was when they brought the mic to him, and that's why this song is amazing, it's meaningful too
This was recorded in a room where Kurt was playing on the couch, Butch Vig walked in on him playing and he grabbed the mic put it up to kurts mouth then held his breath for like 3 minutes while kurt sang into the mic.
+Super Sanchez Actually, Kurt came out in the control room in frustration and he sat down on the couch and said "this is how it should be" and started singing, so Butch grabbed the mic and everything and put it at his mouth. So he didnt walk in on Kurt. This is Butch Vigs own story so.
When it comes to the sad nirvana song there was a quality of sadness and, agony in his voice that always added a creepy factor you can definitely hear the agony in where did you sleep last night as well
He didn't record this song in the recording room he recorded it in the main room they brought out the mics and everyone help there breath while he was playing and singing.
That's true. Someone noticed that Kurt wasn't hitting the notes so they told him to take a break, Kurt started mumbling the lyrics and the producers realised that was perfect so they brought out microphones and everyone had to hold his breath.
Are there lots of mementos of stuff in Aberdeen of Kurt? I'm thinking about making a pilgrimage there one day and looking for all the Kurt stuff around.
The doc was the making of nevermind. And it was butch vig who explained that he couldn't get the right tone from kurt. Kurt came in mixing room with a 4 string acoustic and played in there. He said. You can actually hear a small fan humming on some isolated tracks because there was one in the room he forgot to shut off. The original without the layering is very stripped and sleepy. But the layered chorus really makes it stand out
Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped Have all become my pets And I'm living off of grass And the drippings from the ceiling But it's okay to eat fish 'Cause they don't have any feelings Something in the way Ummmmm Something in the way, yeah Ummmmm Something in the way Ummmmm Something in the way, yeah Ummmmm Something in the way Ummmmm Something in the way, yeah Ummmmm Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped Have all become my pets And I'm living off of grass And the drippings from the ceiling But it's okay to eat fish 'Cause they don't have any feelings

How is this possible? I was under the impression that he did this vocal track and at the same time playing his guitar... If you watch the Making of Nirvana documentary Butch Vig states how Kurt came out of the recording locale in frustration and sat down with his guitar and started playing, this was the result... Hmmmm
But, apparently, Kurt was singing and playing very quietly, but at the same time. There should at least be a bit of bleed between the two channels, yet, it's completely nonexistent in both the guitar and vocal track.
yeah I know what you mean you should have bleed. I can hear bleed from other tracks. so i reckon he overdubbed the vocals... I think butch vig is a bit of a bullshitter haha

It was butch vig and he said “I held my breath for a solid 3 minutes while he sung and I unplugged everything in the room so we could record it”
It was bc everything was too loud
Butch Vig is a genius!
His voice so quiet, mournful and sad in this... Aww yess
This two chord song is better than anything the mainstream has shot out its ass
hey
I miss him a lot.
I miss him too 😞
his voice was so inspiring R.I.P Kurt

+Super Sanchez I actually heard or read he was laying on the floor.
Yeh laying on the floor or couch, either way, still pretty interesting :)

Yeah that's what I meant :)
Super Sanchez The walking in on him was off, but other than that I kinda just repeated what you meant in a better way lmao
The feels on this song. such a talented man
This is amazing yet so haunting

Beutiful
wow.. his vocals on this song sound so haunting
They were recorded at the same time through different mics, thats how you can get just the vocals
Somethin in the Way......Yeah
Underneath the bridge
The tarp has sprung a leak

If someone has Milk It as a vocal only track my life would find a purpose. I couldn't find it yet anywhere
Farewell to a legend

So sad :(
To me, it sounds like he's sitting in a dark, damp cave all alone, singing ...
Nossa, cara!
foda
I don't really know, but if you want I can also upload vocals from "Marijuana" and "Smells..."
i love this song, The Last Of Us
+Thiagu Gomes This song plays in The Last Of Us?
Yes... is cover of the Last of Us remastered!
Thiagu Gomes This isn't a cover of the last of us REMASTERED version. It's the other way around
No way this kid just said this was a cover of the last of us remastered

yesss
Thank you very much... I need it to make a new track...
this made cry
Please upload serve the servants! I beg
can you put a link on this?
Where do you get this from?
His voice has too many feelings and contrast to crack yourself
How is this possible? I was under the impression that he did this vocal track and at the same time playing his guitar...
If you watch the Making of Nirvana documentary Butch Vig states how Kurt came out of the recording locale in frustration and sat down with his guitar and started playing, this was the result... Hmmmm
pure rip kurt
I'm high as fuck and for like 20 seconds thought it was a video of him singing instead of just a pic 😂
Meri holy crap dude, me too XD
Marijuana vocal track -> /watch?v=JkWe6kuayJs
Or he did the vocals again by doing what Krist and Dave did. Most likely not but still a possibility
It looks like he's here
Why is his voice so whistling here? Is this some kind of a special technique?
I miss kurt Cobain
But, apparently, Kurt was singing and playing very quietly, but at the same time. There should at least be a bit of bleed between the two channels, yet, it's completely nonexistent in both the guitar and vocal track.
I think the laying on the couch thing is a little bulls hit or romanticism from vig. But it's a beautiful track
recorded with different mics
hmmmmmmmmmm...........
Batman
Jarhead
The vocals itself is just b
yeah I know what you mean you should have bleed. I can hear bleed from other tracks. so i reckon he overdubbed the vocals... I think butch vig is a bit of a bullshitter haha
Is it just me who thinks something in the way sounds a little like some xxxtentacion's songs?
💀💀
