- This video is for demonstration of selected portions of machine operations and safe operating practices and applies to Vermeer chippers equipped with the patented lower feed stop bar. Consult your operator’s manual for additional instructions and safety messages that apply to your machine.
Great instructional video to go over basic operations! Thank you for answering my question in regards to feeding short logs.
I love the video but found for "constructive criticism" this to close? 10:42/34:34 I mean he is at the side with his hands 1-2" from rollers. If he was pulled into machine from side would not he be pulled over side into machine without Triggering the Safety Shut off?
Woodchippers are very dangerous bits of machinery
A safety device that requires the operator to activate it is inadequate. A man being pulled into a chipper has no time or presence of mind to actively push a bar or a button. In addition, that “safety bar” is way too low. Someone being pulled into the chipper can glide right over it or if feeding from the side as they suggested, they would not even contact the safety bar. There should be a deadman switch that stops the machine immediately if the operator is disabled.
Idk why I watched this whole thing. I’m in the automotive field.
How to start a Rayco power chipper
Great video
I think this video is great information what I noticed they don't mention is that if you have massive piles of brush to chip not just one branch at a time like the video shows it does increase the danger, the branches become Tangled and caught up on each other in that case branches will need to be cut up with a chainsaw and I think what works best if two people on either side of the chipper to run a lot of material, I think with fatigue the safety level goes down it is always great to have another person next to you if anything goes wrong and to help you with difficult to load branches

The best way to deal with code enforcement.
Am think how can purchase this type of machine
Avoid the new 2023 Brush Chippers at all costs! Vermeer chose to adopt a new all-electronic control panel that fails after about 17 hours. The engine starts (it is a Deutz, after all) but the control panel, after flashing the Vermeer logo, goes black. Dead in the water. Zero indication about what the problem is on the LCD screen. In fact, after the logo flashed, nothing...the machine worked all day the previous day just fine. With all of the sensors and firmware, one would think that it would at least give you SOME INDICATION of what the problem is. Nope. Stick with another brand or an older model with mechanical switches and analog gauges. At least those won't fail you on the job, and if they do, you can still work. Very expensive paperweight.

13:34 the most annoying feature of this machine. you need someone just to sit there and keep pressing the button because of that stupid bar. other than that there not bad chippers
Why am I watching this? I have never used a tree chipper in my life!
