OMG I screamed and almost cried when the wood stain spilled. You have such a calm temperament. I would have still been crying and cursing. This too shall pass. Can’t wait for you to get everything put away. It will be gorgeous.
It's always darkest before the dawn. 🌆 You will overcome these temporary setbacks, sweet Kirsten. You are so resilient and resourceful....but you are also perfectly entitled to your feelings of frustration. Just know that soon your home will be a place of beauty, refuge, comfort and wonderful life experiences!🫂👼🏽 Believing with you for awesome days ahead❣️
Don’t give up the snake plant. It will perk back up. Mine makes new plants within the pot Which means. I have to re pot it in a bigger planter. Give it some water. And then wait.
Kirsten loving the new rug and the shelf you put up. I’m so glad your chairs and the floor didn’t get messed up. We all have moments like that and you stayed calm. For your dresser I would try to attach a solid piece of wood much like the piece you used for the closet, screw it into the edges to add stability and give you better placement for the legs. Your apartment is coming along lovely can’t wait to see everything come together.
I admire your patience and tenacity. I in your shoes would’ve gone on a coffee break, walk to the park, lunch/ dinner with a friend, napped and still have the work to come back to to persevere through, and I’d keep putting it off
I just discovered your channel tonight and have watched several of your videos. I'm already a new subscriber. The first vid that popped up on my feed, was your other apt that you showed after decorating. I was immediately hooked by your style, your sweet demeanor and impeccable taste. Watching your move to the new place now and I know it's six months ago in this video, but when that stain spilled, I wanted to just give you the biggest mama hug!! I can't wait to see how it all comes together as I'm watching them in order. Excited to see what lies ahead in future vlogs. ❤️
Girl!!!! I screamed for you when that stain spilled over!! You have such a calming frustration. I can NOT…..And at least 1 of the 3 projects went well! What a way to persevere!! You did so well with that shelf! I love it. Can’t wait to see more! Thank you for sharing!!
The diy shelf and the rug were much needed wins after the dresser mishaps! My heart goes out to you, I can't wait until it all falls into place for you 🥰
🕊❤️🕊Hi Kirsten! Oh my goodness!😳 You are enduring some irritating trials throughout this BIG move! I know there is a GINORMOUS BLESSING around the corner! What craziness! One thing after another! Your character is pleasantly impressive! You are moving along! I wanted to jump in and help YOU!🤨 I know it’s nothing but better coming your way! I love the laundry room it came out super nice with the shelf! The rug is BEAUTIFUL! Prayers of peace and joy coming your way!💜. STAY hopeful!
You have a calm temperament love to see. Seeing how you handle things not working out has really healed me for sure. Assured me that I'm not the only who fails at things but you try again and again
WOW the struggle is real! I’m so sorry you had to go through all that stress, but at least one of the projects turned out well. Focus on the positive, your chairs didn’t get stained and neither did the floor, (the gasp when i saw that stain flow!), and that dresser can still be fixed, so don’t give up on it, nor that snake plant. It’s still alive, just a little beat up. Snake plants are really hearty, just show it some love and attention and it will be back to perfect soon enough. Hope the rest of your projects go well for you, I think you’ve had enough fails, so you’re good. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together! Hang in there!
Kirsten, you are doing an amazing job. You have so much more patience than I do. Would you be able to put a stake by the snake plant to secure it so maybe you could tie it up and save it? And just a thought but is there enough room by your waher/dryer for air to circulate when they are running so they don't overheat? Love the rug and picture in the bathroom but I almost had heart failure when the stain spilled. You are doing an amazing job! 👍💯❤️
Thank you! I think the W/D units are ok - I had a similar situation at my old apartment and it worked but it might be worth me looking into it to be sure! Thanks for the positive words - I'm soaking it all in for my next attempt!!

Move in tings! It happens but we go through it lol. A tip I've used is to use my phone's hotspot and watch stuff on my smarttv :) it helps for those times when your wifi is out!

See you soon in the next vlog! 😉💕
The dresser is salvageable! Take the drawers out (always makes it lighter!) and flip it upside down. You need a piece of mdf cut to the size of the base of the dresser. Then wood glue the edges, let dry and screw into the white part of the dresser. Then attach the legs to that and place them more evenly towards the outer edges…& voila! Ps I’d totally hire a task rabbit for the job lol. Love your channel & good luck settling in! xx
The way I screamed when the can fell over 😭 so sorry!!! I hope things are going much smoother for you. And you can get wood pieces cut and attach it to the bottom of the dresser for more stability to add the legs!
Baby girl I'm your new subbie🙋♀🙋♀I've been watching you since your first and second move, yep even the second one with the noisy neighbours, and your Mum has always been there for you, She's a real treasure!! Somehow I lost you, and i honestly thought you had stopped vlogging 💁♀💁♀, then i saw you yesterday, and i recognised you again🙋♀, I'm looking to move too and the situation seems so dire, the prices are up the roof, but i don't really have a choice💁♀👀so pleased to see what you can do, and have been doing with small spaces✌
Aw I'm so glad you found me again!! Yes ugh this market is so tough right now. the costs are insanely high but I really hope you find something that you love ❤️
You’re so patient!! The way I gasped when the wood stain spilled over 😱 I pray for patience like you! Try getting a thick piece of wood to put on the bottom of the dresser before adding the legs that can hold the weight. You got this! 🙂
Hi Kirsten! I love how everything is coming together. Sending well wishes your way. Do you mind sharing where your lamp is from? I’m obsessed with it & would love to secure one as well!
Hi Kirsten! You can still save the dresser. Simply take the measurements of the base and go to Home Depot and get a piece of plywood cut to those dimensions. You’ll have to decide whether you want to paint or stain the plywood before you attach it. Then using a drill, screw the plywood to the base of the dresser. You can then attach the legs to the plywood. Hope this helps!
Hi Kirsten so happy to see you.Girl you are truly the calmness person that I’ve watched on UA-cam. I would have been all over the place showing my anger😡😡😡 especially that dresser , episode.Have to learn from you.Hope getting your place together go’s well.Thank you for sharing.
I just finished The Flight Attendant. I hope there will be a third season. Did you get the stain out? How about a thick piece of wood going across the left and right side of the bottom of the dresser?
Yeah! They're still releasing episodes for season 2 every thursday :) The stain is mostly gone thank goodness. I'm going to purchase a wooden board as support for the dresser and try again tomorrow, we'll see how it goes!
My heart literally jumped to my mouth when that can tipped over. Your beautiful chairs, your beautiful floors..and you didn't wear gloves so you couldn't pick the chair up straight away!!! Oh my! I am so sorry 🥺. Please don't be disheartened..I know you will fix it 🙏🏽💕. Scared to watch the rest but I will 🙏🏽🥰
Ahh it was the worst - I had hot sweats when it happened lol. But there has definitely been a nice turnaround. I think you'll feel better watching the next videos hahaha
@@kirsten-ashley yeah I watched it. You've done so well, I'm now a subscriber and loving your videos. My best friend and favourite cousin both live in New York too 😊
Kirsten! This vlog was hard to watch, I felt your pain all throughout. Hopefully the end of this rough patch is over and it’s brighter days from here! When the wood stain tipped my heart dropped. I know you wish you had a time machine lol. Sending best wishes and good karma ♥️
😱 Thank goodness that wasn't wall-to-wall carpeting. As a retired landlord, watching that stain spill made me cringe - for you and for the floor! Plastic drop cloth, or a big trash bag cut open, under the cardboard is always a good idea. I occasionally refinished furniture and using stains or any oil-based finishes is best done outdoors or in a cross-ventilated space, which you don't have here. The fumes are really bad not only for the lungs but for the brain and the nervous system. On the positive side, things are coming together nicely and you're well on your way to making this apartment a lovely home. 💗
So glad it wasn't carpeting! I've definitely learned my lesson and will be better prepared if I try this project again. I'll try to find somewhere outdoors to work on it!
Ok, so get 2 prices of wood just like what you used to hold your shelf, put those on the bottom of the dresser then attach the legs to those prices of wood. Make sure to figure out the most sturdy positioning for the straps of wood before you measure the length. I think the two outer sides might be best though. 🤷🏾♀️. Good luck. 🤞🏾
Kirsten… You’re an AMAZING soul. This video had my anxiety on 10@times but… “We” made it through!!! lol You’re doing an awesome job. You know there’s always gonna be a few bumps in the road but… You got this! You’re determined and resilient. Can’t wait to see the end results! 🤍
For the drawer find some legs u can install on the inner sides or skinny ones that go across and that can attach to rhe inner permiter of the base. I suggest getting help though. No more getting hurt.
Just glad that the new rug wasn't down before the stain incident 😬 Honestly, stuff like this happens to me all the time, living solo just means having to crack on as best as you can but It does give a great sense of achievement when things work out though (even if they're a little wonky). I've seen so many YT'ers who don't also have another full time job who never ever attempt anything practical. I'd honestly much rather watch someone like you, as your daily life, mishaps and achievements are much more relatable (and intetesting tbh) 👍😊
I'm so glad it wasn't either! The rug was the win I needed that day. I'm trying to be more handy on my own, because like you said, we have to when living alone. Hopefully practice makes perfect!
Hi Kristen, you have such a sweet and enduring spirit. Things will get better.🙏 I love how the rug looks and l know all will come together and will look beautiful. The Lord will work it out.😊❤
I literally hollered when the can of stain fell over. I thought it was your hand but I had to watch it again and as you said, it was your foot that tipped the can over. What will they charge you for ruining the floor in the living room? Seems like the only way you could fix that is to replace the flooring in that area.
I feel for you on the diy...it is not my forte' so I had to stop trying lol. You're doing great and we're all here cheering you on!! My only add is to please get safety glasses just in case a tiny bit of wood flies out when you're drilling, etc. Also would love to know where you got your rug, if you don't mind. It's beautiful and you have great taste which is also similar to my style! Thanks for sharing, Kirsten!!
Thank you! It can be so tough, but I have all of these ideas and love doing things myself when I can. The rug is from rugs USA! it's the Ivory Jute Harlequin Trellis Area Rug
Girl when I saw you trying to stain that the first thing I thought in my mind was maybe she should have put some plastic down and then the cardboard I hope nothing happens.; but hey you know what no one died 😭😂
Omg I poor thing that , was just awful I feel for u ... I thought too would if she spills that can n u did ! How terrible !! Did the floor get damaged ? I hope u can fix it ? Let us know ? I'm praying for ur finger ur floor ur foot ...just a very bad day everyone has them once in awhile . I pray that it will get better for u ...🙏😇
Thanks so much! Luckily I was able to clean the spill so the floor looks mostly fine, but it did give me such a scare! I will absolutely be more careful the next time around!
It’s ok, Kirsten. I’ve never purchased anything from Facebook Marketplace but I hear that people can get great deals. You just need someone who knows how to DIY for you. I watch a channel on UA-cam called Dumpster Diving (hopefully, I remembered the name right).
OMG, I think I cried with you or for you! I had a feeling that was going to happen, how bad did it stain you chairs and floor? Always sit a can of stain/ paint into a piece of plastic ware or the kitchen sink. Hopefully it wasn't the foot you broke. Things will get better, until then burn some sage in your apartment..
Ahh it was so bad! Luckily, only the bottom of the chairs were stained (where you can't see) and I wiped up the floor immediately so it didn't have much time to penetrate but it was really scary there for a second! I've learned my lesson 😅 I saged yesterday haha
OMG I screamed and almost cried when the wood stain spilled. You have such a calm temperament. I would have still been crying and cursing. This too shall pass. Can’t wait for you to get everything put away. It will be gorgeous.

I literally hollered when the can of stain fell over. I thought it was your hand but I had to watch it again and as you said, it was your foot that tipped the can over. What will they charge you for ruining the floor in the living room? Seems like the only way you could fix that is to replace the flooring in that area.
It was so scary!! Luckily, I wiped it up right away and it looks like nothing even happened!
Kirsten, did you get your rug from Ruggable?
It's from rugs USA!
Little by little mama - it’ll all be fly again 🥰
Yes, thank you girlie!!
Where will the couch go
Where the chairs are currently - I'll be moving them next to the tv stand when it comes in
The snake plant is not dead. Cortale lo feo dsd abajo y un poco d agua y ella coje fuerza.
Gracias! Eso es lo que voy hacer :)
Where did you get your rug?
Kirsten, I think it’s called baseboard.
Girl when I saw you trying to stain that the first thing I thought in my mind was maybe she should have put some plastic down and then the cardboard I hope nothing happens.; but hey you know what no one died 😭😂
LOL!! Yes, I'm counting my blessings. 😅
Noooooo!! All our hard work 😭 damn you spectrum
LOL they really tried it
It’s ok, Kirsten. I’ve never purchased anything from Facebook Marketplace but I hear that people can get great deals. You just need someone who knows how to DIY for you. I watch a channel on UA-cam called Dumpster Diving (hopefully, I remembered the name right).
The plant is not dead Baby Girl. Keep it. It's just in shock from the move.
Thank you! Haha it's had it rough
Girl, I wish I had your patience, I would be a much better person…….seriously tho🦋
Haha! Thank you 😌
OMG, I think I cried with you or for you! I had a feeling that was going to happen, how bad did it stain you chairs and floor?
Always sit a can of stain/ paint into a piece of plastic ware or the kitchen sink.
Hopefully it wasn't the foot you broke.
Things will get better, until then
burn some sage in your apartment..
Ahh it was so bad! Luckily, only the bottom of the chairs were stained (where you can't see) and I wiped up the floor immediately so it didn't have much time to penetrate but it was really scary there for a second! I've learned my lesson 😅 I saged yesterday haha
Always put paint cans or stain cans inside a large bowl…
I've learned my lesson!
Darn I need 2 hooks not 3. I’m too short for 3
The snake plant needs water 💦
That dresser is definitely cursed
Lol 😭
Awwww boo
If you move again don't forget to take your shower rod with you you paid money for it
Yes haha, everything is coming with me!
Your snake plant is still alive. Just cut the limp leaf. You could actually propagate it if you wanted. The rest of the plant is fine. 🪴💚
Thank you! 😌
I make my own Tres leche cake look on Utube for several homade recipes it's very easy try it ... 🦋
Sounds yummy, I'll definitely have to look into it!
