#MNHR Team replay for the win. The more I see of different radios, the more I'm realizing that each brand has almost a language. If you learn iCom, you can probably program any iCom, but would be lost on a Yaesu.
Thanks for watching! You are right... they all have their own flavor. I just happen to really like the Icom flavor. Great combo in ease of use and quality of radio.
Another good video. I’m going to try and do the repeater list tomorrow on the 7100. We don’t have but a couple d-star repeaters anywhere near my location, so I have to use a hotspot, but I’m not sure how to connect all that up with d-star. I’ll stick with regular repeaters to program.
there is no reason not to have a colored screen in every radio these days. If a company refuses to put a color screen in a radio they are just cheating out on us. Those color screens are cheap and look amazing compared to the old monochrome blue or green colored screens.
That may be true for off the shelf displays, but ham radio products are a niche market. They have low volume/year. Consider that consumer electronics are produced in volumes in a day what most ham radio products would do in the lifetime of a product, then I wouldn't think the display and support components along with software would be as cheap as you think.
I'm bummed I missed this live
Fabulous content!!♡

Perfect timing! Just got my 5100 today and am looking forward to setting it up.
You will love that radio! I absolutely love mine! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Just got my 5100 a month ago, and you revealed how to add repeaters without software... very helpful
Glad it helped, and thanks for watching!

Any way to make the 5100's screen more readable? It is so washed out.
nope, unless you put a blanket over your head. Its really a shame.
