( soft sideleg holster) In a close bear attack one wont have time to aim anyway so an optic is useless. Most natural point shooter ive ever had in my long life. With the Underwood 220 grain hard casts the power is the same as a 41 magnum hot load. The coating on the hardcasts makes them the smoothest of the hot loads & the dent it puts into my 3/4 inch thick stainless steel plate is equal to the buffalo bore monometal 190 grain slugs at 1/3 the price. Same box velocity on both slugs, 1300 FPS. I am WELL PLEASED! Thank You! Those mags actually hold 16 rounds as advertised and I've seen a video where the guy put 17 in those mags and it worked as long as he put the slide back first put the magazine in and let the slide go it shot with 17in the magazine.
Just bought one last month and finally shot it for the first time this past weekend. Hold up was finding affordable ammo until I could get supplies to reload my own. My word, this was worth every penny. I'm getting a optic and light for it next. This will be my SHTF weapon along with my M1A.
Look for Blazer 10mm 180 gr FMJ. It’s good range ammo super clean and accurate affordable. I use Underwood 200 gr for “game time”. Zero issues. Great weapon. I only had 1 fail when I first purchased it because the range only had cheap ammo. Blazer is great. I would prefer Underwood range ammo but it’s impossible to get your hands on.
I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. I've been wanting one for years. It does feel good in the hand. I stocked up on Underwood Ammo. I've got some smoking rounds up to 220 grain at 1200 fps. I bought the big package deal with five mags. It's so sweat! GREAT VIDEO!
I wish they would have at least advertised that they were going to release it. I bought a Glock 20 a week and a half ago, but this is the gun I wanted and have had my heart set on for a long time.

It's a long trigger pull, but it breaks clean, on the newer models there is no double reset, mines only 3months old. Does have excellent ergonomics. Holds 16 rounds +1 if you carry chambered, even though the mag only says 15 it does hold 16.

Excellent review, thank you. I was initially interested in getting the new Sig P320 x10 in 10mm but that's 800 bucks for the bare pistol, then another 600-800 bucks for a compatible red dot. This xdm with the red dot is about 800 bucks total and they both seem like comparable pistols, main difference being the Sig has a 5 inch barrel so I'm losing half an inch but I think 4.5 inch barrel is still enough.
Springer precision has 6inch barrels for the xdm4.5 in 10mm which is pretty sweet. Especially if your using optics , you wouldn't benefit from the longer sight base on something like the 5.25 model but because of the longer slide its bulkier and slightly heavier compared to having a 5.5 inch or 6inch barrel on the 4.5inch model .
My Girl loves it because it fits her hands so well. The grip is very ergonomic so she much prefers it over the Glock 20. It is rated for the hottest 10mm ammo out there as well so is an excellent bear gun.
Sootch luv all your reviews. I just purchased this pistol with the Gear up package 5 mags and a range bag couldn’t beat it. Wanted the Sig my buddy bought one and has had nothing but problems with the mags.
Excellant informative video. Thank you. My first SA pistol was the XDm 40 S&W 4.5" in all black. A really nice pistol with very good fit and finish. I then got the bi-tone XDm 45 ACP 4.5", which instantly became my favorite pistol, for a time. However, my hands sweat so much that the XDm grip texture just wasn't nearly enough. Talon grips offered a temporary reprieve, but with my sweaty hands they just didn't last more than a couple of months. For me, the S&W M&P M2.0 grip and grip texturing work by far the best in the polymer-framed pistol world. Good things! 👍
I’ve had the XDM-elite 9mm for 2 years and out of the box, man…what a phenomenal gun. Glad I didn’t buy into glock hype. Definitely check these out if you’re shopping. I couldn’t be happier. Think I paid about $600 for it with 2 20 rd mags and a case. Can’t go wrong.
glock has lower bore axis then your xd. 30 50 and 100rd options. Same price as your xd if not cheaper if you know what your doing. And why do government confiscate automatic glocks and not automatic xd's? Becuase glock is king and the most versatile with the most modifications for it. Why does the miltary use mainly glocks? glock haters are clueless.
I think Springfield should offer the 3.8 on a full size frame for all models for law enforcement. 4” is basically the ideal slide size for a duty pistol. Personally I like 4.5”-5” in a full size firearm. I will say the 4” barrel on the Hellcat Pro is absolutely my favorite. I can’t get enough of that gun for a sub compact pistol.
I’m going with the S&W 2.0 ten millimeter with the 4.6” barrel. If you’re going to sell an RDO mounted handgun, pair it up with optic height sights. It just seems like a “misaligned package” if you don’t co-witness.
Watch the turkeys opinion channel before you buy a m&p 10...or any m&p for that matter. They fire out of battery so solid pass and customer service sucks
I just traded my M&P 2.0 10mm to the XDM Elite OSP 10mm. Going to shoot it this evening. As bad as I hate to say it, the M&P was shit. Jammed on the last couple rounds with both supplied magazines…hit low 4 inches, left 4 inches..even off a rest. Customer service was no help. Called them last Thursday, girl was no help, made a video of it jamming that day and emailed it to them. Calked them again this past Wednesday and girl said wait for email reply. Today is Friday and still no answer…I traded it off a couple hours ago. S&W has been the only brand of gun I’ve carried for 27 years. Needless to say I’m disappointed.
S.A XD absolute best. Had mine since 2010 with not a single issue. As Croatian I had to buy one. Croatian manufacturing is on par with any other high class and at affordable price. These guns should be priced higher, but thanks to S A they are made in best place and kept at lower cost quality, pistol can be.
Glad they finally released a larger version as the other one was too short a grip even with the mag well removed. However, they are late to the game and I will stick with my Sig P220 10MM Legion SAO. Sure it may be a bit heavier but with the metal frame, it handles the 10MM very well.
@Kev Campbell, it’s quite unfortunate when your budget doesn’t match the model release date. We miss out on some great handguns. Now, our only hope is to stumble across them in a lesser known mom & pop gun store or pawnshop.
@Kev Campbell, I have a large collection of Sigs. My wife recently tightened my budget, therefore, I have to be more selective on future purchases. The P226 Legion was a good choice 👍🏼 👍🏼. Favorite Sig Models: 1. P227 2. P226
Dude, keep your Lululoader in your range bag! That way you never forget it. I make sure mine is always in my bag. I also picked up the XDm Elite in 9mm recently and just love it.

Bought mine 2 yrs ago during the Gear UP promotion, got the optics plate and the extra 3 stainless steel magazines and the pathetic mag portfolio instead of the range bag since they were out of stock.
Sean, i had the 9. Liked it so much i got the 10. LOVE IT! Best instinct shooters ive got. Bear country, no time to aim just pull/ shoot em in the face. Put 4 into a 5 inch circle in just a tad over 1 second @ 15 yards using Underwood 220 grain hot bear hardcasts. No sights. No problem. Bears brain is about 5 inches. The power of the Underwoods is roughly the same as a standard 41 mag in the same weight.
Looks like a great investment to me. Optic ready full-size and getting it ported by Mag-Na-Port would be my first move. I would like it for my new job as an Armed Dispensary Officer.
XDM OSP Elite 3.8 is fantastic. The SA optics are a no go for me. They should have designed so they do not have to be removed to change battery. Also, shoots .40 without a hitch.
I picked this up last weekend nice pistol and now my sig xten is at my lgs waiting to be picked up this weekend....I need some of that fiocchi ammunition 10mm is scarce in Michigan right now.. find some here and there but not a lot yet.
i like the Glock 20 and that those mags fit in a TNW Aero Survival Rifle or Pistol. SA is very tempting, esp. optics ready with the under-rail. You can have it all with this, including the extra safety grip safety feature.
The grip safety makes the XD series very safe to holster. If the trigger is caught and pressed during holstering as long as you don't depress the grip safety the gun won't fire. I push on the slide and not the grip to holster. Another benefit in my opinion is if I were in a fight for my gun my opponent likely wont know about the grip safety. If they got it pointed toward me and press the trigger but I was able to protect the grip safety it would not shoot. But if I got it pointed at them I would know to press both the trigger and grip safety. This can be done with your thumb and a finger. I have never heard anyone complain about the grip safety on a 1911 but many bash Springfield for it on XD's. I never notice it when grabbing and firing XD's. I don't want a latching safety so the added passive safety is a plus to me.
The price is very reasonable. The 3.8 OSP 10 mm is freaking nice. I like it more than the Hellcat. Well, the pricing and availablity on 10 mm sucks a little.
@@frankcastle9691 I had commented they are reasonably priced. Now I’m starting to think they are dirt cheap. I just got mine last month. I would’ve waited for the full size, but still very happy with my purchase
The NRA Exhibit Hall at Houston's George R Brown Convention center, I asked about the full size 10mm at the SA display and he pointed at it, said it was announced 2 days ago.
I have both this pistol and the Glock. I prefer the sights on the XD…Like the trigger better…am getting used to the grip safety, but it gives me increased confidence when reholstering…VERY much prefer the takedown on the Springfield. I will keep both. With a simple Versacarry holster, I can carry either on my belt when out hiking around our ranch in bear country and I’m not a big guy (5’8” 175 lbs) and I am 73 years old. BTW..I DO have rather large hands…
Another excellent review...that 10mm is a bear to shoot, pun intended. Right tool, for the right job :) Even in New Jersey, it's not uncommon to encounter Black bears while deer hunting.....or tasty turkey, damn...not in their hunting season :) Don't know anyone who has had an issue with a bear, but best to feel secure. Need SCOTUS to overturn NJ's 11+ round mag ban.

@@briarjumper125, I appreciate the honest post.
Thanks for your insight and demo, always enjoy your vids, thanks again Sootch!
Excellent review. Love your channel. Let's keep em comming
Thanks Lemar!
New subscriber. Been eyeing this exact model. You've helped me pull the trigger!
Glad they finally released a larger version as the other one was too short a grip even with the mag well removed. However, they are late to the game and I will stick with my Sig P220 10MM Legion SAO. Sure it may be a bit heavier but with the metal frame, it handles the 10MM very well.
You should try the 3.8 elite 10mm compact with the extension magazine
Really want a legion p220 10mm
👍🏼👍🏼 for the P220 Legion SAO 10MM. It’s decent, however, I would’ve preferred the P227 Elite Tacops in 10MM. Big ✋🏽🤚🏽.
Favorite Sig Models:
1. P227
2. P226
I have the 3.8 osp 10mm and I love it
Well, this and the Sig X-Five just came out in 10mm.
It's a good time for the Centimeter!
Dude, keep your Lululoader in your range bag! That way you never forget it. I make sure mine is always in my bag. I also picked up the XDm Elite in 9mm recently and just love it.
It was in my range bag! lol! I have a bunch of them but keep taking them out of my shop : ) Definitely a great loader Thanks Scott
@@sootch00
Random question. Based on your experiences and knowledge, where’s the best place to purchase ammo online? I’ve never considered buying ammo from anywhere other than physical stores, but I’ve recently moved to a state/city that (for lack of a better term) suck.
Thanks! 🇺🇸
@@2K9s I've had real good experience with "lucky gunner"
super fast shipping , decent prices 👌 ps : nice hounds !
just got a mal/gsd × after having gsd's for 40 years ... we'll I needed to get in shape anyways... 🤣
@@796andy2 awesome, thanks for the info. I literally Lol’d at your comment on my channel! They’re great dogs, my brother just retired his gsd after 8 years on the streets and have only been witness to Mal/Gsd’s getting some. My mals definitely keep us busy but I just had my 5th back surgery so no running any time soon.
I don’t keep a Lula Loader in the range bag…
…I keep MULTIPLE LuLa Loaders in my range bag.
I really enjoy the Springfield XD'-M in the 40. It would be nice if they added adjustment rear sights and a holster for this 10mm.
Bought mine 2 yrs ago during the Gear UP promotion, got the optics plate and the extra 3 stainless steel magazines and the pathetic mag portfolio instead of the range bag since they were out of stock.
I have a XDM 10mm 5.25” with a utg red dot it’s sweet!
Controlled lightning....followed by evil laugh....LMAO. Keep the videos coming.
Great video Sir! You made me buy one just now! Lol!!! I should get it soon 👍🏻 Is not my first Springfield but is my first time on 10mm
What’s with the gap on the back of the slide at 4:26?
Great review Sootch! 10mm is very popular now!
Great review!! I'm getting the 9mm in this same specs and I'm excited 👍🏽
Good time to grab it ,they running special where you get 3 mags snd range bag. So you can use the 4.5 mags in the 3.8🤔
Looks like a great investment to me.
Which one do you think is better this version or the 3.8? Or should I ask you which one do you prefer?
@@darrendyson8347 everyday carry or do you plan to go into the woods?

Just picked this up and it is great
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING LOOKING FIREARM
BEAUTIFUL LITTLE CANON🏆
I'm thinking about making one of these as a EDC. 10mm is my favorite caliber in a semi auto.
I picked this up last weekend nice pistol and now my sig xten is at my lgs waiting to be picked up this weekend....I need some of that fiocchi ammunition 10mm is scarce in Michigan right now.. find some here and there but not a lot yet.
It just came back in stock on Buds and I grabbed it fast!
17:33 "Go ahead and check the chamber to make sure it's loaded." Ackshually...
My favorite pistol. 10mm Slamhammer
Great review! Thank you!
i like the Glock 20 and that those mags fit in a TNW Aero Survival Rifle or Pistol.
Great review!
Springfield. The best subcontractor of the gun industry.
Another great review, love your work.. Sootch00, do you get to keep all these guns, if you do, you have one heck of a collection. (Y)
Every Springfield gun seems to be price very high even the old XDS used are expensive it's just unbelievable but thanks for the update scooch
The price is very reasonable. The 3.8 OSP 10 mm is freaking nice. I like it more than the Hellcat. Well, the pricing and availablity on 10 mm sucks a little.
Its 650$. Sig sauer just came out with a p320 10mm and its 800$.
@@frankcastle9691 I had commented they are reasonably priced. Now I’m starting to think they are dirt cheap. I just got mine last month. I would’ve waited for the full size, but still very happy with my purchase
@@OneGodoneIsrael agree I was responding to sammy prestwood
@@frankcastle9691 I was agreeing with urs 👍
This 10mm will be my next gun purchase.
I like the original XD design, wish they made it in 10mm.
The NRA Exhibit Hall at Houston's George R Brown Convention center, I asked about the full size 10mm at the SA display and he pointed at it, said it was announced 2 days ago.
At this price point, I don't think there is a better 10mm out there. Just wish it had a threaded barrel, but you can guy aftermarket for sure.
I have this same pistol my optic is the Swamp Fox King Slayer circle dot.
another great video! thank you!
Another excellent review...that 10mm is a bear to shoot, pun intended.
Right tool, for the right job :)
Even in New Jersey, it's not uncommon to encounter Black bears while deer hunting.....or tasty turkey, damn...not in their hunting season :)
Don't know anyone who has had an issue with a bear, but best to feel secure.
Need SCOTUS to overturn NJ's 11+ round mag ban.
Just hide your goodies and keep the state requirements on you.
adding the "Gas Pedal" greatly enhances your shooting experience on this one.
I see they have not yet fixed the double click reset of the META trigger. My XDM Elite OSP 9mm drives me nuts.
