1. Go in with low expectations but make sure your standards are very high. Go into it with sober expectations (friend instead of potential partner). Go to have a good time and keep conversations light. 2. Let boundaries be known up front (e.g. don’t take calls after 9 p.m.). 3. Don’t give premium service for someone who’s on a trial period. Don’t give him access to your life and body until he makes the cut. Don’t let a man dictate the pace.
