Make a sidecar with it! 2oz cognac, 1oz lemon juice, and 1oz simple syrup. Shake with ice and serve upright in a coupe. You can also sugar the rim, but I don't think it adds much.
Enjoying these drink review videos lately, from one person who doesn’t like the taste of alcohol to another Rum Chata, baileys or any of the cream liqueurs are very easy to drink. Orange Fanta and original rum chata mixed together tastes just like an orange popsicle, definitely an easy drink to sip on.
Cognac is a very price-dependent drink, I hope you'll try some better ones. I'm a Scotch guy, but Cognac would be a close second for me for a sipping liquor. I've tried about 60 different Scotches in the past few years and about 12 Cognacs. Both have a bottom floor of price in terms of drinkability. I can recommend Courvoisier, Decourtet, ABK6, or Hennessy. Also, that ANSAC is a VS which means it was only aged 2 years. VSOP is aged 4 years. XO is aged 10 years. Most Cognac brands will make one of each, for example, Courvoisier VS is $26, Courvoisier VSOP is $50, and Courvoisier XO is $200 in my area. VSOP is usually the sweet spot, but I can say that the Decourtet VS punches above its price.
With liquors you really dont want to go cheap (for cognac, whiskey 16 is very cheap). You likely didnt like it for that reason - $20 scotch is awful but $40+ scotch is entirely different.
Yeah there is a very thin line between drinkable and not drinkable for liquor, particularly aged liquor. Johnny Walker Red (aged 3 years) is like $23 and basically undrinkable, makes me want to puke. Johnny Walker Black (aged 12 years) is like $28 and is one of my favorite scotches. This also applies to Cognac, rum etc.
@@farklestaxbaum4945 How do those prices calculate? Is it mostly taxes? In Europe they will throw JW red label at you for 10 Euros and never over 15. On the other hand, JW black label will cost around 25 Euros which is similar to 28$. All of the bottom shelf stuff seems to be really cheap around here...
@@reinermiteibidde1009 Both of my examples are in southern US for a 750ml bottle, before sales tax. $28 for Black Label may have been a sale price, it's more typical to see it around $30-32. There is probably some tax or fee built into the price due to shipping from Europe to US

Feel so good like a money machine.
Try brandy next?
Cognac is brandy... just from the Cognac region of France. It's like telling a guy drinking champagne to try sparkling wine.
