Best comparison. But how do you see sharpening mask in C1 like you do LRC?
There is a not a great visual way to see the mask for sharpening of CP1
It's not so much about color rending from the start, as you mentioned, but rather the tools and features you want or need, as both have pros/cons. For example, C1's tethering beats Nikons' tethering system to a pulp, but LRC's new masking features are lightyears ahead of C1's "magic brush" just as an example, so people should judge more on what features they need. Additionally, C1 does offer sessions whereas LR doesn't and just requires importing all images before you can work on them. But as far as things like color go, it can be manipulated in both and with a bit of effort, you can probably get them to match, it might take a little more work in one than the other, but in reality you can probably produce very similar results to a point where you wouldn't really notice (or the end user wouldn't). The other thing is the value. C1 is a bit expensive (even the subscription) whereas Adobe is cheaper, plus you do get Photoshop as well, whereas with C1 you'd have to find a pixel-based editor to work with which adds to the cost although it can be minimized if you go with something perpetual like Affinity photo. But it really comes down to features that you need/want and which one you feel fits your needs/workflow better. I will say that one thing that annoys me with CaptureOne is their 16 layer limit. Granted since they did fix the spot healing/cloning tools so that you can have multiple source points on a single layer (For different spots/areas) other things like masks generally have to be on their own layers especially if they have different tones or exposures, etc. LRC that I can tell, can have any number of masks although if you have A LOT of them, it can slow it down, but as far as I know, there isn't any artificial limit like there is with C1 in terms of layers (which are a bit analogous to LR's edit pins/local adjustments/masks).
But as someone else pointed out in another video elsewhere, C1 is really geared towards photographers photographing people and/or working with clients where the workflow is centered more around high-output and customization in those regards, whereas I see LR as more of a general tool that both professional and enthusiasts can use and learn, and so it's feature set is more basic (although they could maybe start to implement an "advanced mode" where you can access more advanced features like more detailed color grading, if ADobe does improve it's color wheel/grading system further).

I agree on C1 "Sessions" feature as I love that feature - I'm very tree-oriented and much prefer looking up something thru the tree.
No time to review at the moment but I will view this video later - I've used both LR and C1 - Got hooked up with C1 years ago primarily due to its tethering capability - Fell in love with the quality of the product - A year or two ago, or whenever it took place, I was seriously disappointed when I read C1 was purchased by an investment firm - When financial firms take over it typically does not work out well for the newly acquired business - It seems my worst fear may come to fruition as a recent story discussed financial issues at C1 - I haven't used LR in well over 10 years - I am hoping I don't need to give up on C1 but time will tell - I am a member of the Adobe Cloud and I do strongly believe in subscription plans as I'm a firm believer they give a software company the cash flow required for development as well as the ability to stay in business - That doesn't imply I don't like outright purchases - It does imply that subscription-based software provides for a steady cash flow which I think is important for small-sized and specialty businesses such as those who produce photograpy-related software.

I'm kind of in the process of leaving C1 for LR because I don't like the way the current owners of C1 are treating customers. (I left Adobe a few years back because I didn't like the way they were treating their customers! ☺)
I must say that I like about 98% of LR's masking - though why isn't there a feathering slider? It's NOT perfect, and we need a convenient way to manipulate the edges.
I also think that C1 is a more subtle tool than LR. I really miss C1's brightness slider and levels, and the colour controls. I also miss the input/output work flow options in C1, but I'm not a pro, so I can live with that.
I have all my images in a single LR catalogue (something I wouldn't try in C1) though I consider keywording in C1 to be far superior to LR.
If C1 would do something about masking, their catalogue and get their price increases under control I'd stay - but I can't see that happening.

Had bought Lightroom classic but suddenly stopped updating the program. Instead, I had to register as a subscription user and pay a monthly amount. On these terms Lightroom classic is absolutely out of the question and now considering capture one for my Fujifilm camera.

The starting point for RAW is NOT free of process settings. It's absurd to compare and say one program loads files better. Learn.
