My real question is about presets. Can capture one use lightroom presets? If it does I can finally stop pirating Lightroom once and for all.

I've always felt the 50 is MEH. So, I bought one (Sony 50 1.2) and used it for almost a year (last year) to see if that opinion changed. The beginning of this year, I sold it. I still feel it MEH. It's a jack of all trades and master of none.

When I right click on the photo, only the "Remove from Collection" option appears. When you click on the "Photo" section in the menu above, the options "Remove from Collection", "Remove Selected Photo From Collection", "Remove Photo From Catalog" and "Delete Rejected Photos" appear. I cannot delete photos from Disk.

Great video, just wanted to chime in on the last bit at the end, although ignore me if you've figured it out since!😆 You *can* edit multiple images directly at once, but you have to use the "Speed Edit Keys", you can't just use the sliders. This caught me out for ages as you would think "Edit Selected" would do just that but it doesn't, which is silly I agree. But when you use the "Speed Edit Keys", by holding down the shortcut key (E for brightness for example) and *then* use the slider you want to adjust (or the arrow keys), you can adjust all the images you have selected at the same time. I don't know if it works on every adjustment, but it will with the ones that have keys assigned. The default keys for the "Speed Edit Keys" are in a sub-menu in the Keyboard Shortcuts menu. It still doesn't do everything that LR's Auto Sync does, like the metadata stuff, but you can at least multi-edit. C1 is kinda bad at telling you that this stuff even exists to be honest. p.s; in one of your other videos you talked about being able to set star ratings but not color ratings on multiple images at once, again if you use keyboard shortcuts for the colours it'll change all the photos you've got selected together. Clicking to change will only affect that one photo. I can see the logic as to why, but i wish it was a bit more obvious.

A small note about the 35 being close to a 40 field of view but a little wider.... If you ever make prints in the old formats, 5x7, 8x10, the 35mm excels. The side cropping means the 35 performs like a 40 does in the 2x3 format of the sensor. Please don't take my 35mm away! You already took my Kodachrome!

Did the same, but didn't go so far back in time. I picked up a used Pro-10 pack and a ProHead. Totally agree that the flat-face monolights are great for travel and work will with certain modifiers. But they're no match to a pack & head system across Profoto's full line of modifiers. Pack heads have an exposed flash tube that do a much better job filling larger modifiers. The flat-face units already have a built-in reflector that works well, but also limits its ability to fill a modifier larger than about 36-inches. Also a caveat on Profoto ProHeads... In 2023 Profoto changed the connector end on new ProHead production to meet EU requirements. The new connector still works with Pro-8 thru Pro-11 packs, but not with older packs. This also applies to old vs new ProHead extension cables.

How about this idea similar to what you did in this video. Use the point curve for contrast set as "medium contrast." Then save the adjustment as a user preset only saving the "point curve" with the amount slider. Then when you select the preset, you can adjust the amount of contrast using the preset slider.

Great tip never thought of using masks in that way and as an add on you can turn that into a preset to add to any other image in one click with full adjustability.

2-1/2 minutes and I have no idea where you're going or what you are talking about - the big "Secret Feature". Gotta go somewhere else to spend my daily hour of LR/PS learning. Please get to the point. 2-1/2 minutes is more than generous on the part of your audience.

Thanks for sharing ! I hadn't looked to masking this way. I usually do the global adjustments not overdoing it and use masks to desaturate parts of the image. I'd keep this in mind next time, thanks

To select / create your layers, rather than using the dot/invert/fill in dot, it is much easier simply to use a gradient pulled away from just outside the edge of the image holding shift to keep it straight - then the whole of the image is immediately selected for the mask.

So using masks as adjustment layers as you would in PS - brilliant. I shoot fine art and print and prefer to work in Lightroom direct from my camera files as the difference between contrast and saturation can be quite subtle for printing.

Great video :-) To create a filled layer, take the linear gradient tool and start outside the picture! on the right side. Then swipe to the left side outside of the picture. You have created a filled mask with just one tool.

As a high volume portrait photographer my workflow is I shoot tethered into a laptop. I share online and my assistant accesses the session on her laptop and reviews the images with the person to pick ONE for retouching. I WISH CO would allow a compare mode on the “shared” laptop. People find it easier to pick the one image they love if multiple images can be viewed side-by-side. It can be done on my laptop but not my assistant’s. Any thoughts?
