- This is the Citroen Oli. It’s a concept car but I think this is the most important electric car I’ve ever driven. And yes…. I will be getting behind the wheel in this video.
So then, why is this car getting motoring journalists like me all hot under the collar? Well, simply, it marks a break from manufacturers just churning out the current crop of electric cars and instead confronting the challenges that are inherent with electric cars - namely weight, efficiency and longevity.
Citroen invited me to take a look around and take the Oli for a drive. This is what I found out.

Nice presentation, clever and cool concept. I wonder how it fares on a crash test since it has a significant amount of cardboard compound, or how expensive it would be to fix if it crashes.
Will Citroën put the Oli into production without making any substantial changes.
Looks great
🤞😁👍
💯 WANT ONE! 😁👍
I think this car is really important, we need to get the cost of electric vehicles down. One way to do this is to get rid of all the unnecessary technology in modern cars especially infotainment screens which so many drivers don't want & can be a dangerous distraction. I want one & if I get one it will be my 6th Citroen.
Couldn’t agree more.
I love Citroen, I am a big fan of the cars and their art marries engineering ethos, but they really have to improve customer service, at least in the UK. Great cars with mediocre sales and after sales service is not gonna help Citroen and I'd like to see Citroen doing better at least in the UK
Fantastic
on the contrary I have seen something like that before... the 2CV...
Nope..., I've looked at this once, twice and three times already...., and I still think it looks like Citroen's take on a Hummer.
So where's the machine gun slats ?
The EV of EVs - Environmental Vehicle of Electric Vehicles.
My Citroen C4 Cactus (1060 kg) and my 2CV6 (585 kg) had an electric love child with an Ami.... More Smile Per Mile...
How can you use your google maps when it’s put into that slot ,
You follow directions on the screen below the windscreen. 🙄. Keep up.
This may be the first vehicle to receive a negative Euro NCAP rating if it were put into production 😂
I’ll bet it will fare better than you think. A lot of the time it will be driven on slow traffic congested roads so low speed impacts will bounce off not dent. 😉
