maryse going from stopping alec kissing magnus at his and lydia’s wedding to now walking magnus down the aisle to marry alec was such a full circle moment
I just found out something new a few days ago. Todd Slavin (one of the showrunners of Shadowhunters) answered a fan's question on Twitter. The question was "why the fans didn't get a Malec's kiss at their last scene?". He answered that in the script there was supposed to be a last kiss in their last scene when they are holding their drinks, but Harry and Matt suggested, on the day of shooting, that they should replace the kiss with both of them saying "to us" and the clinking of their drinks because they wanted to throw back to season 1. It is so genius! Matt and Harry are incredible in understanding their characters so well.
in the books, after alec, jace, clary, isabelle and simon go to save magnus after jonathan takes him to edom, they kill jonathan and they escape from edom only because of asmodeus who's price was simon's immortality and memories so simon became a mundane. he did get his memories back bit by bit tho and he became a shadowhunter and clary's parabatai !! this was just a bit of extra information lol. and the way you laughed when you said that alec killed jocelyn BYE the way we went from maryse hating magnus to her walking him down the aisle to her son- i'm in tears STOP THERES NO WAY ITS OVER. i'm crying this was so fast omg. i loved your every video and i loved rewatching the show with you !! i'm excited for the next videos and i will be supporting you for future shows too :) looking forward to the bloopers and extras

thats a wrap!! i loved the series so much. it made my emotions run wild, like one second i was fine and then the next, i’d be full out sobbing. i’m glad u liked it!!
The finale is so bittersweet! I have to point out that there are so many parallels going back to past episodes and I love it, but it makes it so much more emotional! I think the reason why the angels didn't immediately take her powers away is probably they want to her a second chance. Also, the little cliffhanger is just in case if the show ever gets picked up, they can continue from there instead of making a new storyline. Some little things I want to say is that Luke and Maia were supposed to be at the wedding, but Isaiah and Alisha were so busy that they couldn't. However, they did attend the wrap party and the final episode airing party. If Luke was at the wedding, there would have been the scene of Robert apologizing to Maryse and saying he is happy that she found love again. The wedding scene was the last ever scene that they filmed, so the scene that Clary ran out of the Institute sobbing was real. Kat said that Clary leaving the Institute and the shadow world behind was like her leaving the show and the show ending for good. Since everyone is at the final scene, the wrap party was right after the filming. It was so epic that it lasted till the morning of the next day. Also, fun fact: The people that Jonathan killed were not background actors, but the stunt team and the fact that the last place he attacked at is Toronto is a bit funny cause the show is filmed at Toronto. omg, I love these little tidbits regarding this episode and the fact that clary running out sobbing was like Kat leaving- ugh, I'm gonna go cry really quick. And so it comes full circle. In season 1, we saw the “you can see me” scene for the first time, saw a warlock and a shadowhunter flirt for the first time (the warlock toasted their relationship, before it even started), and saw the same two kiss for the first time, in front of the entire institute. In season 3, we saw the warlock and the shadowhunter get married, in front of the entire institute (and the Shadowhunter toasted their relationship once more). We saw a new shadowhunter, and a new downworlder flirt, and we saw the “you can see me” scene one last time. The entire plot, the entire show is one large circle, and I think it is perfect. So, as you know, I have been giving you book-to-screen facts since episode one, and I thought the best way to end this series was if I gave one large last comment with all the character’s book endings. The only people excluded are show-only characters, and characters who had the same endings in the books. This is a VERY long comment, so to prevent lag/annoying people, I’ll be dividing it into several parts and posting the other parts in the replies of my comment. This will be the case for both patreon and youtube. Before I give the full fact, the names of the songs in this episode are: Hymn 21 by Colouring, I Get To Love You by Ruelle, Holding Out For You by Lizzy Land, and This is Where We Come Alive by Ruelle. So without further delay, here we go, the book ending for every character in Shadowhunters: Simon Lovelace- I needed to start with Simon because what he goes through is very different than in the show. It also gives background context to everyone else’s story. Clary actually never loses her memories. The angels aren’t mad at her for using her powers, and she continues to live a normal shadowhunter life. But someone else does lose their memories. And that’s Simon. It’s going to take a lot of explaining, seeing as the show changed so much from the books, but here is the gist: Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, and Jace go to edom to save Raphael, Meliorn, Magnus, Luke, and Jocelyn (the downworlder delegates) from Jonathan, who had kidnapped them as a way to bait Clary into ruling demon beside him. They traveled through Edom, faced a dream demon, take down Sebastian and so on, but the group was left with no way to return home. Magnus was weakened from days of being trapped in his father’s realm, and before dying, Jonathan sealed the borders between the two worlds. The only way for them to get home was to summon Asmodeus (who in the books was not really interested in Magnus, had stayed in Edom during the entire ordeal on Earth, and for the most part did not care about having his son rule beside him) and ask him for help. Asmodeus agreed to send everybody back, as long as he was allowed to keep Magnus with him, and take away his magic and immortality. Just as Magnus was about to agree to allow his friends to be saved, Simon stepped in and took Magnus’ place. If Magnus’ immortality was taken away, 400 years of life would catch up to him and he would die. If Simon’s was taken away, he would remain a 17 year old boy. Asmodeus agreed, because daylighters were a rarity, and interesting, but he also said he would take Simon’s memories. Specifically, the ones about the shadow world. There are several reasons why he chose to do that, but one of them was that demons feed off of memories, and he wanted to cause as much pain as possible. So he did just that. He took Simon’s memories of the Shadow World, and for a year, Simon never remembered Isabelle, Clary, or anyone else he met during his journey. And he was human again. However after a year, he began remembering things. Magnus found out and had an idea. If Simon ascended and became a shadowhunter, then he would be protected from the demon’s curse. So Simon went to the Shadowhunter Academy for two years, and he ascended to become a shadowhunter. He made a friend there named George Lovelace, who passed away, and Simon changed his name to honor him. At one point during his journey, he and Isabelle began dating again, he became parabatai with Clary, and in 2012 he and Isabelle got engaged, and are most likely going to get married in the next few books. (Look in replies for parts 2-7)
(part 2) Isabelle Lightwood: After losing Simon in edom, she grieved for him, and the loss of her little brother for the better part of a year. As her life continued, she chose not to have a parabatai because she preferred not to be tied down to anyone when fighting. After having trouble reconnecting with Simon once he began to remember her, the two finally got together again after a two years and a half apart. She continues to live a very happy life as an aunt (as of 2009), and Simon’s fiance (as of 2012). Clary Fairchild and Jace Herondale: After attending her mother’s wedding to Luke, Clary chose to continue living as a shadowhunter. Jace trained her for a year, and that was when Simon began remembering them. She was there for him during his two years of training, and they became parabatai weeks after his ascension. When Maryse retired, she and Jace began to co-run the institute together, and the pair later got engaged in 2012 (she asked him with a sword that said “will you marry me?” in Latin). She and Jace have talked about having children, and she’s not opposed to it, but wants to wait a few years. Jace really wants kids. Jace quickly grew into his new identity of being a Herondale, and was pleasantly surprised to meet Kit Rook, a long-lost Herondale, and therefore a very distant relative to Jace. Thinking he was the only Herondale left, Jace was overwhelmed to learn about his existence, and he quickly grew close to the boy, acting like a cousin figure of sorts. Clary and Jace became aunt and uncle in 2009, and Jace has continued to prove to be a bad influence to children.
Part 3 Alec Lightwood Bane: After surviving the Mortal War (the Clave’s stand against Sebastian), Alec began the Shadowhunter-Downworlder alliance (which I have talked about before). His main focus was running that alongside Magnus, up until 2009. At the Academy, Simon and his new friends found an abandoned baby warlock, with a note attached saying “who could ever love it?”. He asked Magnus and Alec, who were going to be guest speakers at the Shadowhunter Academy, for help. They decided to look after the baby, and not two days later declared they were adopting him. He was an 8 month old warlock, with navy blue skin, even darker blue curly hair, and white horns. He was named Max Michael Lightwood Bane, after Alec’s late brother. The alliance continued to run, but now, their attention was split between taking care of a baby, and the alliance. Three years later, in 2011, Alec had to go on a mission to Buneos Aires, where he met a five year old orphaned Shadowhunter named Rafael. Rafael came back to New York with him, and Magnus happily agreed to adopt him. They gave him the middle name Santiago, after Raphael Santiago. Magnus and Alec agreed not to marry however, until the world would accept their wedding, and accept their love, and not disregard their wedding as not real, because they were a downworlder and a shadowhunter. In 2012, Alec helped lead one side of the civil war against the Cohort, a hate group in the Clave. After the civil war was won, he was then voted into the position of Consul. He changed the law to have downworlders be official members of the clave, and then he married Magnus a week later. Jace walked Alec down the aisle, and Catarina walked Magnus down the aisle. Alec, Magnus, Rafael, and Max continued to live in New York together. Magnus Lightwood Bane: Magnus became one of the most hated and loved downworlders. Hated for being in the laps of shadowhunters by some downworlders, and loved for bridging the connection and for helping both groups by others. He got terribly sick during the events of the Dark Artifices, when a blight from an alternate dimension was introduced. After a cure was found, he helped main characters from The Dark Artifices and The Mortal Instruments by joining the civil war, and using his magic to allow the vampires to join the fight in the middle of the day. He lives in New York with his husband and two sons, Rafael and Max.
Part 5 Jonathan/Sebastian Morgenstern: Jonathan remained evil until Clary and co. found him in edom, where she stabbed him with a weapon embedded with heavenly fire. It burned the demon blood in him, and therefore his evil, but not enough good was left to keep him alive. For five minutes he lived, apologizing to Clary during his final moments, for all he had done to her, and to the world. As he did, his blonde hair (which in the books was naturally blonde, inherited from his father) stayed the same, but his eyes, which were black, turned green. His last words were, “I’ve never felt so light.” While he died, the Seelie Queen survived. In the books, he never harmed the queen, and he did actually show some interest in her. He couldn’t love anyone but he didn’t disregard her like in the show. After he died, she found out she was pregnant, and their son, Ash, was raised in the faerie courts, until the events of the Dark Artifices. Because of the time difference in the land of fae, by 2012, four human years after his birth, he was already a fifteen year old boy. He is going to be one of the main characters in the yet to be released Wicked Powers. Maia Roberts: After Jordan passed away, Maia became the alpha of the New York pack. Less then a year later, she joined the Shadowhunter-Downworlder alliance, and became very close with Lily Chen and Alec Lightwood. The three of them also have game nights together. She started dating Bat Velasquez, and it was revealed that she started learning Spanish for him and his family. As of 2012, they have exchanged promise rings, and are still a happy couple. Despite being prominent in The Mortal Instruments, they have a very small role to play in The Dark Artifices, only appearing in an alternate dimension, the fight that would end the civil war, and Magnus and Alec’s wedding. Luke and Jocelyn Garroway/Fray: Luke never ended up with Maryse, and Jocelyn never died. They retired from Shadowhunting/leading the werewolves by the end of the books, and got married. They live together in an apartment in New York. Luke is not a shadowhunter. The plot with the heavenly fire was very different in the books. It was not a secret organization, but something they acquired briefly by asking an angel for help (as I’ve mentioned before). The heavenly fire was used to break the bond between Jace and Sebastian (as it was them bonded, not Sebastian and Clary), and only to save Jace. The fire then remained in Jace’s blood, until Clary transferred it into a weapon (using a special rune), which was used to kill Jonathan. Luke never had access to it, and would most likely not return to shadowhunting if he did.
Part 6 Maryse Trueblood: Maryse continued to live as a shadowhunter after her divorce from Robert. She led the New York institute, with the help of her second in command, a man named Kadir. It was never specified whether their relationship was romantic, but the two were very close regardless. She loved being a grandmother, and adored babysitting, even though raising a baby warlock proved to be a lot of work. Robert Lightwood: Robert Lightwood was made inquisitor during the period Alec led the alliance. He spent the rest of his life trying to rebuild his relationships with his children. Jace mistrusted him, Isabelle was mad at him for cheating, and Alec was mad for his father’s homophobic behavior towards him. After years of working on it, their relationships were much better, and Robert was very happy to become a grandfather to Max, and later Raphael. Unfortunately, in 2012, Robert was killed by a woman who had been recently resurrected from the dead (long story), and was about to be questioned about her ex’s crimes (don’t worry about it). The attack also killed a fifteen year old girl, and his and her funeral were held together in Alicante. Jia Penhallow: Jia retired after she started getting ill (it was never said with what, but I have a suspicion it was cancer) and her position of Consul was given to Alec. She officiated Alec and Magnus’ wedding.

what a series finale!! it is one of my fav Shadowhunters episodes and they knocked the ending out of the park (compared to the ending of most shows lately 🙄 ) im gonna be honest I cried so much during this ep lol the whole beginning was so epic, watching them all fight together and then bond with izzy to save her and take the heavenly fire on one by one, it was amazing and then the heavenly fire destroying edom we love it the sizzy scene at the beginning I’m crying they are so precious “why don’t we try to be better together” I waited so long for this endgame!!! I love that malec are having their wedding at the institute I mean sending a positive message I love it so much🥺 and alec being the first person magnus has married how special is that I love them tbh I’m glad jonanthan ended the queen she was such a menace and only wanted to be on the winning side and only looks out for herself it was time though I loved all the people who played the queen over the seasons! the alec and jace scene had me almost crying I love their relationship so much they’re brothers 🥹 the clizzy scene oh no, I love them so much, they are family and clary asking her to be her parabatai I teared up again! makes me sad we didn’t see much of luke in the finale and he wasn’t at the wedding but I know the actor was also about to or already working on IT 2 (which I loved him in) clary seeing her mom one last time, so sweet, but the message she brought sucks, like cmon why did the angels give her the power if she wasn’t allowed to use it that doesn’t make any sense 😭😭 magnus and lorenzo making up and what lorenzo said made me so happy, I think magnus/alec and their friends made lorenzo have hope, that’s beautiful alec having a good relationship with both parents & izzy too ofc makes me happy to where they started off in s1 and we got to see robert and max again! look at how much max has grown already, also him stabbing jonathan again an icon he’s definitely a lightwood, jonathan sucks just killing shadowhunters at every Institute ugh all because his sister didn’t love him, like how could she with everything you’ve done? it’s like a child throwing a hissy fit but with killing hundreds of people poor clary, having to kill her own brother, the scene was beautifully tragic and sad. kat killed this scene, it makes me sad for clary and what she could’ve had with her brother, I don’t think there was any other way to kill him except making her own rune so of course she sacrificed her powers and her memories and her family to save the entire world from jonathan she might’ve started the show selfish but she ended it selfless as ever and her character growth is 100% I started tearing up as soon as I saw madzie walk down the aisle with the leaves/flowers, I got so emotional so quick and this song was perfect for malecs wedding. if you notice almost every one is sitting in the exact same spots as alecs first wedding when he chose to kiss magnus, also having everyone there celebrating oh I just cried bc malec deserve this, they deserved their happy ending and seeing maryse walk magnus down the aisle stop I was a mess lorenzo and underhill👀 love to see it seeing clary say goodbye to everyone I hated it, her and simons friendship means so much to me, and her last dance and kiss with jace, the fact the writers hid from us that she was not only losing her powers but her memories too had me in tears again, she really didn’t deserve this after everything she did to help to save everyone it just really sucks the year later!!! alec and magnus working in alicante and showing every shadowhunter and downworlder a new way and a better way of acceptance, him being the inquisitor & magnus the high warlock of alicante also magnus looked so good in his last scene 👀😉 & it makes me so happy also their last shot being with drinks like their drink in the first season. maia being the leader of the pack and owning the restaurant!! and her working to bring all the downworlders together I’m so proud of her. izzy being the head of the institute I love it!!! & izzy and simon and still together and going strong and so so cute as always I’m so glad I got my endgame after so long of waiting!! the last fight scene in the training with jimon sign me up!!! they’re friends now and I love to see it the bittersweet ending!!! the parallel of “you can see me” and “of course I can see you” from the very first ep !!! we love a full circle moment, and it seems like clary will probably regain her memories in the future and regain her friendships and stuff, which makes me so happy this show is so great, I’m so glad I got to watch along with you and see you go through every storyline, every plot, every ship, all the ups and downs and I am also sooo sad the show didn’t get another season, this show had so much potential but the finale tied up everything for me and it was so so beautiful I really am so glad they didn’t screw their ending up! this is one of my comfort eps!

After the brutality of the cancellation, this is a finale to savour and cherish! And even with Clace's sad separation, I'm glad that the final shot implies their eventual happy ending (in defiance of the Angels)! Needless to say, Malec's wedding was a thing of beauty! So I’m gonna apologize right off the bat lol this is gonna be a long one but since it’s the finale… but you made it!! Lol so did you catch All the parallels from this episode to the first season?? First off let’s start with Clary, when I first watched this I also didn’t catch that warning from Jocelyn, I was just like oh that’s not too bad clary won’t be able to make new runes, oh well. It wasn’t until her runes started to disappear that I was like oh shit, it parallels the book kinda because in the books it was Simon who gave up his immortality and memories. As for how she was slowly starting to remember I think that’s all jacked doing, his conversation with Simon in the training room where he said that he prays to the angels every night that there love is stronger and at that point it had been a year later and it was the time she had seen him because Jace said he always glamoured himself so that means she got the sight back because just after she started to remember it pans upwards and stops in the Heavens. Also they repeated the same Lines from when they met in front of pandemonium “ you can see me? “ “ of course I can see you” Also there is a subtle hint that she was already starting to remember because the painting she was standing behind was from Magnus and Alecs wedding, there just blurred. You can look it up afterwards lol. But I digress it is kinda shitty because there was no other way to stop Johnathan other than to use clary because he was killing everything in his path, clary was the only one who get close enough. As for the rune, it looked like it just purified all the demonic blood out of him and since that was really all he had left in him, it killed him thou I did like the touch of his hair changing back to the original red. Now onto our boys! The way Magnus was just laying there watching Alec sleep like he couldn’t believe that it was real, also the parallel from season 1 where Magnus throughs out that quit “ marriage is a wonderful institution, not that I would know” only to literally be getting married now! And Alec actually feeling like he’s special because out of the whole time Magnus has been alive, no one has ever wanted to marry him 😭 cut to freaking Maryse walking him down the isle! When in season one she was like what is that warlock doing here?? And now she sees him as another son and Can we just say everything he “lost” he has gotten back 10 fold, his apartment, Alec is now his husband and now hes the First ever High Warlock of Alicante! And Alec is the Freaking Inquisitor! Alec did say he didn’t want to go to Alicante without him . As for Maia and her restaurant, that’s a call back to the book because Takis is a hangout where everyone goes and if I remember correctly the graphic novel and name is a call back to the books. But can I just say Even me and a lot of others had to dodge Spoilers about the Finale because they cancelled it Freeform started to auction off pieces from the set, one of those pieces being the letter that Jace reads on screen from clary, they auctioned it off before the ending he even aired thou! And they didn’t tell anyone so people who saw it immediately got spoiled for the ending. Such a dick move. “My Heart literally feel out of my butt” 😂 very accurate description for this whole show lol I gotta say I did really like how they wrapped up everything at the end, Malec wedding. I think people would have rioted even more if they didn’t get a happy ending and then the Open Ending with the possibility of Jace and clary getting back together. I think I remember the show runners saying they left it open ended for the possibility of it being continued if it got saved or In the future if I ever came back . I could totally see them doing a whole series of just the year in between we didn’t get to see but I think I’ve made this long enough, sorry agin lol look forward to rest of your videos! 😎🖤

I just found out something new a few days ago.
Todd Slavin (one of the showrunners of Shadowhunters) answered a fan's question on Twitter. The question was "why the fans didn't get a Malec's kiss at their last scene?".
He answered that in the script there was supposed to be a last kiss in their last scene when they are holding their drinks, but Harry and Matt suggested, on the day of shooting, that they should replace the kiss with both of them saying "to us" and the clinking of their drinks because they wanted to throw back to season 1.
It is so genius! Matt and Harry are incredible in understanding their characters so well.

The finale is so bittersweet!
I have to point out that there are so many parallels going back to past episodes and I love it, but it makes it so much more emotional!
I think the reason why the angels didn't immediately take her powers away is probably they want to her a second chance. Also, the little cliffhanger is just in case if the show ever gets picked up, they can continue from there instead of making a new storyline.
Some little things I want to say is that Luke and Maia were supposed to be at the wedding, but Isaiah and Alisha were so busy that they couldn't. However, they did attend the wrap party and the final episode airing party. If Luke was at the wedding, there would have been the scene of Robert apologizing to Maryse and saying he is happy that she found love again.
The wedding scene was the last ever scene that they filmed, so the scene that Clary ran out of the Institute sobbing was real. Kat said that Clary leaving the Institute and the shadow world behind was like her leaving the show and the show ending for good.
Since everyone is at the final scene, the wrap party was right after the filming. It was so epic that it lasted till the morning of the next day.
Also, fun fact: The people that Jonathan killed were not background actors, but the stunt team and the fact that the last place he attacked at is Toronto is a bit funny cause the show is filmed at Toronto.

And so it comes full circle. In season 1, we saw the “you can see me” scene for the first time, saw a warlock and a shadowhunter flirt for the first time (the warlock toasted their relationship, before it even started), and saw the same two kiss for the first time, in front of the entire institute. In season 3, we saw the warlock and the shadowhunter get married, in front of the entire institute (and the Shadowhunter toasted their relationship once more). We saw a new shadowhunter, and a new downworlder flirt, and we saw the “you can see me” scene one last time. The entire plot, the entire show is one large circle, and I think it is perfect. So, as you know, I have been giving you book-to-screen facts since episode one, and I thought the best way to end this series was if I gave one large last comment with all the character’s book endings. The only people excluded are show-only characters, and characters who had the same endings in the books. This is a VERY long comment, so to prevent lag/annoying people, I’ll be dividing it into several parts and posting the other parts in the replies of my comment. This will be the case for both patreon and youtube. Before I give the full fact, the names of the songs in this episode are: Hymn 21 by Colouring, I Get To Love You by Ruelle, Holding Out For You by Lizzy Land, and This is Where We Come Alive by Ruelle. So without further delay, here we go, the book ending for every character in Shadowhunters:
Simon Lovelace- I needed to start with Simon because what he goes through is very different than in the show. It also gives background context to everyone else’s story. Clary actually never loses her memories. The angels aren’t mad at her for using her powers, and she continues to live a normal shadowhunter life. But someone else does lose their memories. And that’s Simon. It’s going to take a lot of explaining, seeing as the show changed so much from the books, but here is the gist: Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, and Jace go to edom to save Raphael, Meliorn, Magnus, Luke, and Jocelyn (the downworlder delegates) from Jonathan, who had kidnapped them as a way to bait Clary into ruling demon beside him. They traveled through Edom, faced a dream demon, take down Sebastian and so on, but the group was left with no way to return home. Magnus was weakened from days of being trapped in his father’s realm, and before dying, Jonathan sealed the borders between the two worlds. The only way for them to get home was to summon Asmodeus (who in the books was not really interested in Magnus, had stayed in Edom during the entire ordeal on Earth, and for the most part did not care about having his son rule beside him) and ask him for help. Asmodeus agreed to send everybody back, as long as he was allowed to keep Magnus with him, and take away his magic and immortality. Just as Magnus was about to agree to allow his friends to be saved, Simon stepped in and took Magnus’ place. If Magnus’ immortality was taken away, 400 years of life would catch up to him and he would die. If Simon’s was taken away, he would remain a 17 year old boy. Asmodeus agreed, because daylighters were a rarity, and interesting, but he also said he would take Simon’s memories. Specifically, the ones about the shadow world. There are several reasons why he chose to do that, but one of them was that demons feed off of memories, and he wanted to cause as much pain as possible. So he did just that. He took Simon’s memories of the Shadow World, and for a year, Simon never remembered Isabelle, Clary, or anyone else he met during his journey. And he was human again. However after a year, he began remembering things. Magnus found out and had an idea. If Simon ascended and became a shadowhunter, then he would be protected from the demon’s curse. So Simon went to the Shadowhunter Academy for two years, and he ascended to become a shadowhunter. He made a friend there named George Lovelace, who passed away, and Simon changed his name to honor him. At one point during his journey, he and Isabelle began dating again, he became parabatai with Clary, and in 2012 he and Isabelle got engaged, and are most likely going to get married in the next few books. (Look in replies for parts 2-7)
(part 2) Isabelle Lightwood: After losing Simon in edom, she grieved for him, and the loss of her little brother for the better part of a year. As her life continued, she chose not to have a parabatai because she preferred not to be tied down to anyone when fighting. After having trouble reconnecting with Simon once he began to remember her, the two finally got together again after a two years and a half apart. She continues to live a very happy life as an aunt (as of 2009), and Simon’s fiance (as of 2012).
Clary Fairchild and Jace Herondale: After attending her mother’s wedding to Luke, Clary chose to continue living as a shadowhunter. Jace trained her for a year, and that was when Simon began remembering them. She was there for him during his two years of training, and they became parabatai weeks after his ascension. When Maryse retired, she and Jace began to co-run the institute together, and the pair later got engaged in 2012 (she asked him with a sword that said “will you marry me?” in Latin). She and Jace have talked about having children, and she’s not opposed to it, but wants to wait a few years. Jace really wants kids. Jace quickly grew into his new identity of being a Herondale, and was pleasantly surprised to meet Kit Rook, a long-lost Herondale, and therefore a very distant relative to Jace. Thinking he was the only Herondale left, Jace was overwhelmed to learn about his existence, and he quickly grew close to the boy, acting like a cousin figure of sorts. Clary and Jace became aunt and uncle in 2009, and Jace has continued to prove to be a bad influence to children.
Part 3 Alec Lightwood Bane: After surviving the Mortal War (the Clave’s stand against Sebastian), Alec began the Shadowhunter-Downworlder alliance (which I have talked about before). His main focus was running that alongside Magnus, up until 2009. At the Academy, Simon and his new friends found an abandoned baby warlock, with a note attached saying “who could ever love it?”. He asked Magnus and Alec, who were going to be guest speakers at the Shadowhunter Academy, for help. They decided to look after the baby, and not two days later declared they were adopting him. He was an 8 month old warlock, with navy blue skin, even darker blue curly hair, and white horns. He was named Max Michael Lightwood Bane, after Alec’s late brother. The alliance continued to run, but now, their attention was split between taking care of a baby, and the alliance. Three years later, in 2011, Alec had to go on a mission to Buneos Aires, where he met a five year old orphaned Shadowhunter named Rafael. Rafael came back to New York with him, and Magnus happily agreed to adopt him. They gave him the middle name Santiago, after Raphael Santiago. Magnus and Alec agreed not to marry however, until the world would accept their wedding, and accept their love, and not disregard their wedding as not real, because they were a downworlder and a shadowhunter. In 2012, Alec helped lead one side of the civil war against the Cohort, a hate group in the Clave. After the civil war was won, he was then voted into the position of Consul. He changed the law to have downworlders be official members of the clave, and then he married Magnus a week later. Jace walked Alec down the aisle, and Catarina walked Magnus down the aisle. Alec, Magnus, Rafael, and Max continued to live in New York together.
Magnus Lightwood Bane: Magnus became one of the most hated and loved downworlders. Hated for being in the laps of shadowhunters by some downworlders, and loved for bridging the connection and for helping both groups by others. He got terribly sick during the events of the Dark Artifices, when a blight from an alternate dimension was introduced. After a cure was found, he helped main characters from The Dark Artifices and The Mortal Instruments by joining the civil war, and using his magic to allow the vampires to join the fight in the middle of the day. He lives in New York with his husband and two sons, Rafael and Max.
Part 5 Jonathan/Sebastian Morgenstern: Jonathan remained evil until Clary and co. found him in edom, where she stabbed him with a weapon embedded with heavenly fire. It burned the demon blood in him, and therefore his evil, but not enough good was left to keep him alive. For five minutes he lived, apologizing to Clary during his final moments, for all he had done to her, and to the world. As he did, his blonde hair (which in the books was naturally blonde, inherited from his father) stayed the same, but his eyes, which were black, turned green. His last words were, “I’ve never felt so light.” While he died, the Seelie Queen survived. In the books, he never harmed the queen, and he did actually show some interest in her. He couldn’t love anyone but he didn’t disregard her like in the show. After he died, she found out she was pregnant, and their son, Ash, was raised in the faerie courts, until the events of the Dark Artifices. Because of the time difference in the land of fae, by 2012, four human years after his birth, he was already a fifteen year old boy. He is going to be one of the main characters in the yet to be released Wicked Powers.
Maia Roberts: After Jordan passed away, Maia became the alpha of the New York pack. Less then a year later, she joined the Shadowhunter-Downworlder alliance, and became very close with Lily Chen and Alec Lightwood. The three of them also have game nights together. She started dating Bat Velasquez, and it was revealed that she started learning Spanish for him and his family. As of 2012, they have exchanged promise rings, and are still a happy couple. Despite being prominent in The Mortal Instruments, they have a very small role to play in The Dark Artifices, only appearing in an alternate dimension, the fight that would end the civil war, and Magnus and Alec’s wedding.
Luke and Jocelyn Garroway/Fray: Luke never ended up with Maryse, and Jocelyn never died. They retired from Shadowhunting/leading the werewolves by the end of the books, and got married. They live together in an apartment in New York. Luke is not a shadowhunter. The plot with the heavenly fire was very different in the books. It was not a secret organization, but something they acquired briefly by asking an angel for help (as I’ve mentioned before). The heavenly fire was used to break the bond between Jace and Sebastian (as it was them bonded, not Sebastian and Clary), and only to save Jace. The fire then remained in Jace’s blood, until Clary transferred it into a weapon (using a special rune), which was used to kill Jonathan. Luke never had access to it, and would most likely not return to shadowhunting if he did.
Part 6 Maryse Trueblood: Maryse continued to live as a shadowhunter after her divorce from Robert. She led the New York institute, with the help of her second in command, a man named Kadir. It was never specified whether their relationship was romantic, but the two were very close regardless. She loved being a grandmother, and adored babysitting, even though raising a baby warlock proved to be a lot of work.
Robert Lightwood: Robert Lightwood was made inquisitor during the period Alec led the alliance. He spent the rest of his life trying to rebuild his relationships with his children. Jace mistrusted him, Isabelle was mad at him for cheating, and Alec was mad for his father’s homophobic behavior towards him. After years of working on it, their relationships were much better, and Robert was very happy to become a grandfather to Max, and later Raphael. Unfortunately, in 2012, Robert was killed by a woman who had been recently resurrected from the dead (long story), and was about to be questioned about her ex’s crimes (don’t worry about it). The attack also killed a fifteen year old girl, and his and her funeral were held together in Alicante.
Jia Penhallow: Jia retired after she started getting ill (it was never said with what, but I have a suspicion it was cancer) and her position of Consul was given to Alec. She officiated Alec and Magnus’ wedding.

alec having a good relationship with both parents & izzy too ofc makes me happy to where they started off in s1 and we got to see robert and max again! look at how much max has grown already, also him stabbing jonathan again an icon he’s definitely a lightwood, jonathan sucks just killing shadowhunters at every Institute ugh all because his sister didn’t love him, like how could she with everything you’ve done? it’s like a child throwing a hissy fit but with killing hundreds of people
poor clary, having to kill her own brother, the scene was beautifully tragic and sad. kat killed this scene, it makes me sad for clary and what she could’ve had with her brother, I don’t think there was any other way to kill him except making her own rune so of course she sacrificed her powers and her memories and her family to save the entire world from jonathan she might’ve started the show selfish but she ended it selfless as ever and her character growth is 100%
I started tearing up as soon as I saw madzie walk down the aisle with the leaves/flowers, I got so emotional so quick and this song was perfect for malecs wedding. if you notice almost every one is sitting in the exact same spots as alecs first wedding when he chose to kiss magnus, also having everyone there celebrating oh I just cried bc malec deserve this, they deserved their happy ending and seeing maryse walk magnus down the aisle stop I was a mess

seeing clary say goodbye to everyone I hated it, her and simons friendship means so much to me, and her last dance and kiss with jace, the fact the writers hid from us that she was not only losing her powers but her memories too had me in tears again, she really didn’t deserve this after everything she did to help to save everyone it just really sucks
the year later!!! alec and magnus working in alicante and showing every shadowhunter and downworlder a new way and a better way of acceptance, him being the inquisitor & magnus the high warlock of alicante also magnus looked so good in his last scene 👀😉 & it makes me so happy also their last shot being with drinks like their drink in the first season. maia being the leader of the pack and owning the restaurant!! and her working to bring all the downworlders together I’m so proud of her. izzy being the head of the institute I love it!!! & izzy and simon and still together and going strong and so so cute as always I’m so glad I got my endgame after so long of waiting!!
the last fight scene in the training with jimon sign me up!!! they’re friends now and I love to see it
the bittersweet ending!!! the parallel of “you can see me” and “of course I can see you” from the very first ep !!! we love a full circle moment, and it seems like clary will probably regain her memories in the future and regain her friendships and stuff, which makes me so happy
this show is so great, I’m so glad I got to watch along with you and see you go through every storyline, every plot, every ship, all the ups and downs and I am also sooo sad the show didn’t get another season, this show had so much potential but the finale tied up everything for me and it was so so beautiful I really am so glad they didn’t screw their ending up! this is one of my comfort eps!

And even with Clace's sad separation, I'm glad that the final shot implies their eventual happy ending (in defiance of the Angels)! Needless to say, Malec's wedding was a thing of beauty! So I’m gonna apologize right off the bat lol this is gonna be a long one but since it’s the finale… but you made it!! Lol so did you catch All the parallels from this episode to the first season?? First off let’s start with Clary, when I first watched this I also didn’t catch that warning from Jocelyn, I was just like oh that’s not too bad clary won’t be able to make new runes, oh well. It wasn’t until her runes started to disappear that I was like oh shit, it parallels the book kinda because in the books it was Simon who gave up his immortality and memories. As for how she was slowly starting to remember I think that’s all jacked doing, his conversation with Simon in the training room where he said that he prays to the angels every night that there love is stronger and at that point it had been a year later and it was the time she had seen him because Jace said he always glamoured himself so that means she got the sight back because just after she started to remember it pans upwards and stops in the Heavens. Also they repeated the same Lines from when they met in front of pandemonium “ you can see me? “ “ of course I can see you” Also there is a subtle hint that she was already starting to remember because the painting she was standing behind was from Magnus and Alecs wedding, there just blurred. You can look it up afterwards lol. But I digress it is kinda shitty because there was no other way to stop Johnathan other than to use clary because he was killing everything in his path, clary was the only one who get close enough. As for the rune, it looked like it just purified all the demonic blood out of him and since that was really all he had left in him, it killed him thou I did like the touch of his hair changing back to the original red. Now onto our boys! The way Magnus was just laying there watching Alec sleep like he couldn’t believe that it was real, also the parallel from season 1 where Magnus throughs out that quit “ marriage is a wonderful institution, not that I would know” only to literally be getting married now! And Alec actually feeling like he’s special because out of the whole time Magnus has been alive, no one has ever wanted to marry him 😭 cut to freaking Maryse walking him down the isle! When in season one she was like what is that warlock doing here?? And now she sees him as another son and Can we just say everything he “lost” he has gotten back 10 fold, his apartment, Alec is now his husband and now hes the First ever High Warlock of Alicante! And Alec is the Freaking Inquisitor! Alec did say he didn’t want to go to Alicante without him . As for Maia and her restaurant, that’s a call back to the book because Takis is a hangout where everyone goes and if I remember correctly the graphic novel and name is a call back to the books. But can I just say Even me and a lot of others had to dodge Spoilers about the Finale because they cancelled it Freeform started to auction off pieces from the set, one of those pieces being the letter that Jace reads on screen from clary, they auctioned it off before the ending he even aired thou! And they didn’t tell anyone so people who saw it immediately got spoiled for the ending. Such a dick move. “My Heart literally feel out of my butt” 😂 very accurate description for this whole show lol I gotta say I did really like how they wrapped up everything at the end, Malec wedding. I think people would have rioted even more if they didn’t get a happy ending and then the Open Ending with the possibility of Jace and clary getting back together. I think I remember the show runners saying they left it open ended for the possibility of it being continued if it got saved or In the future if I ever came back . I could totally see them doing a whole series of just the year in between we didn’t get to see but I think I’ve made this long enough, sorry agin lol look forward to rest of your videos! 😎🖤

Finally, here we are. The finale :')). I am so not ready for this 😭😭💔❤️. I can't believe it's over :'( xd. But, there will be time for that in (let's be real, much longer than) a minute. For now, I guess it's time to go through basically every scene because I'm me xD.
