I saw Led Zeppelin do this song live as a 5th encore in Raleigh in 1980. They came up with it after returning to the stage for the 5th time and Robert saying "We don't have anymore songs!" Best concert I ever saw.
You heard about this concert. WOW Considering Elvis and Led Zeppelin, never performed together. Guess you're no fan of either, and the 7 people who liked your comment haven't got any idea about it either.
Los Zeppelin vieron al rey en directo 2 o 3 veces, coincidieron con el y tuvieron alguna charla, puesto que tenían al mismo manager de giras, pero nunca tocaron juntos
@@cursino1 Yup, that happened in LA and Robert Plant has talked about how fabulous it was to not only meet but how they all talked about music for a good two hours. They were really surprised at his depth of knowledge of not only Mississippi Delta Blues but all kinds of music. Plant said EP was like an encyclopedia of music of all kinds. Then, LZ was in Memphis for something and EP invited them over to Graceland where they all hung out together. But the best one I’ve heard is that they both ended up in some city- I don’t remember where but they arrived at the airport and had the Lisa Marie park next to LZ’s plane at the gate. EP got off of his plane and went onto the LZ plane to chat. They didn’t stay together long, it was just a brief “hey, how you doin? Whatcha up to? OK, gotta go” and then EP went back on the LM and one of them taxied away and took off. But I don’t recall where this was.
Thanks Kim! Can't remember exactly since I did this a long time ago. But it definitely wasn't my own idea. I think someone in UA-cam mentioned that the unusual drum intro of Zep's Rock and Roll has a rhythm similar to the rhythm of Blue Suede Shoes melody. So I had to try it myself. It was surprisingly easy to put it together. Basically just some minor tempo adjustments and creative editing.
I love it, but would like to hear a version with Elvis’ vocals from the ‘68 Comeback Special. His delivery is more contemporary to the “Rock” era and would sound more feasible as a collaboration. Also I think it’s done faster so would require less speed alteration. Would hate to lose the Scotty Moore solos however, and not sure if the key is the same.
Elvis being a tubby is a little exaggerated and for the most part, just the last year of his life, 1976-1977 was he looking puffy. He was a little overweight but he was retaining a ton of water and was bloated because of health issues, one being a genetic condition with his bowel which was terribly worsened by his use of prescribed medications. In fact, during autopsy they found like 25 pounds of a concrete like substance in his bowels, obviously a byproduct of years of pill use. There are photos of Elvis at a show in 1977 looking really swollen and puffy-fat, and the next night he looked like a different person, like 20-30 pounds smaller looking. Likely because he flushed all the fluids from his system. I hate talking about that stuff, but people need to know that it wasn't like all the haters make it seem, that he was in his dark room eating pounds of bacon and peanut butter and banana sandwiches months on end.
I think the band sounds better with Elvis as Lead Vocalist. I always loved Jimmy Page, but never quite got used to Robert Plant's vocalisms. This is great!
I'm pleased I lived long enough to hear this classic ...
Wow this is great, I wish Elvis and zeppelins rocked together
this is 100% proof that they DID
Proto metal cover
They all met each other in 1974. They had the same agents.

I've heard about this concert!😃 LA 1974. It was actually Elvis' show. Robert Plant I guess still gets misty talking about it.😂
There is no concert, this is a mashup of the 2 recorded songs

Robert Plant was a big Elvis fan from way back.

Brilliant! I can't imagine how you did this so seamlessly, or even how you even realised the two could somehow be put together.

AMAZING HOLY SHIT!!!!
Led Zeppelin wasn't inspired by the Beatles they we're inspired by Elvis Presley (aka the king of rock n roll.
Um, there is no way Elvis was THAT THIN when Zeppelin was touring in the 1970s. The photo is pretty good, though.

King Elvis and goddess Marilyn are the greatest re Elvis e dea Marilyn sono i migliori

FAKING COOL!
It works
Led zeppelin must've been thinking about blue suede shoes when they wrote rock n roll
My thoughts exactly!
Same chord pattern
… and watching Gilligen’s Island when when he came up with the Stairway to heaven.
1,2,3 Macca in I saw her standing there
yep, that's him!
Is this real or somebody's fantasy mix ?
almost credible, good
anyone remember dread zeppelin?
Neato
Sounds little messy but cool
I loved hearing Elvis's voice and Jimmy Page's guitar. But putting Robert Plant's voice in with Elvis, didn't work.
I miss Bonham very much.

Same chords wow
Just Simple blues
What that annoying noise in the background?
What do you mean? What noise?
Elvis is too low in the mix.
