Honestly unique video choice. Not something obviously that is necessary but this came across my feed and i really applaud you making such a unique video idea
Like whistling, instruction only goes so far. This is a "get the feel and it clicks" type thing. Been doing it for 20+ years. Bigger objects like a serving tray are way easier than our disc golf discs due to the higher moment of inertia.
Couldn’t have said it better. Thank you for sharing! My goal for the video was to simply get people who didn’t know on the right track. Hopefully I’ve done that well.
I can do this too. It just takes practice and balance and eventually it just clicks. I can do it with any plastic, and can even switch between my middle and idex finger while the disc spins. So can all of you, reading this comment. Took me about a month to get to my level and im still improving.
I actually prefer slick plastic and flat drivers for spinning. My favorite spin disc and the one I learned to spin with is a 167 g plasma Photon. Lighter weight is wears less on my finger too.
While I do enjoy slicker discs for spinning as fast as I can, when it comes to doing tricks (especially the one where I jump it in the air a bit) I enjoy the base softer plastic. I will say your point about light weight interests me.
The hardest thing for me to comprehend is the circular motion on the finger. The side of the disc just keeps falling over and then it catches on my finger. But ima keep working on it. I tried it on one of my slimmer plasma drivers and it felt more natural i might just back and forth between the discs and hopefully something will click and i can do both. Thanks for the video dude
Thanks for posting this video. I’ve been trying off and on for the last 6 months or so with no success. A big problem I’m having is when I begin spinning the disc my finger, which is originally extended up, starts bending exposing the pad of the finger instead of the fingertip. The disc then begins to travel down my finger and falls to the floor. I’m guessing it just takes consistent practice but do you have any suggestions that might help?
Hmmm. The two things that originally come to my mind is maybe getting a stronger initial spin from the thumb/wrist combo, and maybe try bringing your middle and Pinter finger together 🤞🤞🤞to keep that middle finger from bending. Obviously practice will help as well.
Best I can say is don’t move your wrist too much besides the initial spin to get it going. After that I kind of rotate everything from the elbow upwards (your forearm) using the elbow. It should be a very small tight circular movement with nothing too drastic. Maybe try sitting at a desk/table and put your elbow on top so your inner elbow/arm is at a ~45° angle almost like if you were sitting back in your chair and putting your hand under your chin. You should be able to keep it spinning just with your forearm as the main spinner. Hopefully that helps
Notice his arm position like saying "number one" instead of in front of him like flipping someone off. This made it easier for me although i just started twn minutes ago lol
But why!? I feel so much more comfortable as a righty spinning it the other way ugh! Like stirring something. Now I’m back to square 1 not even close 😂
Just keep trying, it’s gonna take some time/practice. 👍 Remember to use the starting position that I mention, then spin the disc with your thumb and wrist for that liftoff so it slowly spins on your middle finger on the nipple of the disc. After that then you need to feel it out/practice to keep it spinning.
Rather the tip of my middle finger like Simon Lizotte in the thumbnail. This isn’t easy, and takes practice. Just keep trying and you’ll get it. Edit: you can spin on your nail, and it can work depending on the cut on the nipple of the disc, but I still spin on the tip of my fingers.
@@LearyTheCablGiDiscGolf i just cant do it and im jealous . I suck. I cant extend my fingers straight up like that. My palm is always up and i cant keep the spin
It takes a lot of time my friend. Took me 4 months to get it to spin by itself. If you are ever sitting on the couch or desk watching tv bring a disc and just try mindlessly. I understand it can be super frustrating to try again and again to continue to fail. I’ve been there 😀

I appreciate the kind words!
@@LearyTheCablGiDiscGolf And you did a piss-poor job of it. Congratulations, I guess?
Thx Ron 🤗 🖕
Im supposed to be studying, but this is something i can do the rest of my life now

Super Chill vid, Loved your vibe man
Thank you, my friend 🙏🙌
Apparently throwing isn’t the only part of disc golf I suck at 🤣🤣

Of course! The part you are struggling with is the most difficult part so just keep trying!
Great video buddy 👏 jump + finger switch is elite 👌
Thank you 🙂

Do you file down the uneven flashing from the “nipple?”
I do not, no. It’s just a good reference point for where to start and focus balence 😀
When I try to keep it going it seems impossible with the wrist movement...pointers?

Despite you starting recently that’s still a fantastic point to make
Hey I know this guy. #discgolfhomies
(Honestly, this is what I've been wondering for so long. Thank you. 😂👏🏼)
Duuuude what’s up?! 🤣
Do you want it in the tip of finger or on the pad?
More on the tip of my finger. Look at Lizotte on the thumbnail. Kinda close to flipping someone off or point the number one
Nipple of the disc, aka injection point :D
But why!? I feel so much more comfortable as a righty spinning it the other way ugh! Like stirring something. Now I’m back to square 1 not even close 😂
my girlfriend was very pleased with this technique

Tryed for an hour and discs just slide off my finger lol I'm just a rim spiner now haha
Just keep trying, it’s gonna take some time/practice. 👍

is it your fingernail or the tip you are spinning on?

Rounding
Lmao
Bro did not just call it the nipple💀
As another comment correctly states, “the injection point of the disc AKA the nipple.”
did not teach anything
How so? I feel like I taught the basics and the other comments seem to agree with me

Is it okay to spin it counter clockwise as a righty if that feels more natural?
