Hello. Kind of a beginner here. Trying to calculate something similar. Have an Array of cells in a row and every second cell ( every other cell has a drop down menu that does not contain cs, ck, cc or numbers, so should not interfere) in a row will contain something like ck33, cc22, cs13 for example. CK for Check, CS for Cash, CC for Credit card, amounts will vary. I would like it to calculate total of ck, cs and cc. There will be empty cells too. I am that new that I already don't know why when I copy your example here in C8 the formula just stood there, when starting with Auto sum and copy the formula, I get #Value! error. Wrote your B to C 8 to 19, but already stuck to replicate your example. Thanks.
