Sucks to be a Montreal sports fan nowadays. The Als were once a powerhouse and now are in rebuilding mode. Habs haven't won, or even made it to the finals in nearly 25 years and we lost the Expos too. Impact are decent, but won't be a cup contender for a while.
I know, I miss the old Als with Calvillo, Chiu, Cahoon, ect. I remember those three Grey Cups we were in and haven't felt any like that in almost 7 years
@SuperVancouverBC Good point. It would be messed up for a few years until everyone got used to the different rules. How are the size of the players different? Sorry to sound stupid, I'm not overly familiar with the CFL.
Another great grey cup, another great superbowl this year. Is it me or all the past Grey Cups and Superbowls of the past 5 years have been for the most part pretty tight game. A lot of those were decided by the last play of the game.
Irishman here. I agree CFL is better than NFL. Shame that Toronto and Montreal don't get behind the game in the way Calgary and Edmonton do. its a great sport.
In a way Rider fans (and to a lesser extent some other teams fans) contributed to their team losing by running their mouths about how Montreal was lucky last year...it's hard to be as hungry after winning a championship, but you gave them fuel to their fire. Thanks! Champions...again!
It couldn't happen since it's not same football they're playing; also, it's not sure there could. be a great audience or that the Canadian players could match the American one (after all, there are way more of them in total).
The CFL and NFL actually played a few games head-to-head. Last time was 1960. If they were to renew the series, Baltimore should be the first US city to host the game as that city had the 1995 Grey Cup Champions.
@serdiann033 if you think about whats better us or the stamps lol have you even seen the game with riders vs the stamps on the finale and if you where watching after the game your whole team put up a lot of respect to our team so dont get cockie it was a great game over all u guys won congrats but remember how long has cahoon played now and how long has henery burris played now the rest of the league is done rebuilding u guys are just getting down that path
@Reginahomeboy I didnt say anything bad about the riders. They are a good team especially the Canadian air Force. I was just pointing out that even when it's over, some riders fan (not all of them) still insult the alouettes. It was a good game, dont get me wrong.
Toronto is full of American wannabees. Only in the GTA does the Super Bowl get higher TV ratings than the Grey Cup. EVERYWHERE ELSE in Canada (including Hamilton), the opposite is true by quite a margin.
Anthony Calvillo reminds me of a poor man's Kurt Warner. Share some of the same qualities in the way they play, obviously against different levels of competition, but similar nonetheless
Montreal hasn't sold out a single game since this win. Came close a couple of times and only in 2002 was there over 200,000 at their parade. 2010 wasn't even 100,000.
It is odd to say, but each Grey Cup win, the Als went down in popularity. The Als were at the peak of their popularity from 1999-2002, even more popular than...Les Canadiens. I'm not exagerating one bit.
im a als fan and i cant beleive that ssk put a banner in edm locker room with''home of ssk riders''on it. even tho they are huge division rival.if i was a eskimo i would beat the shit out of them next year and i hope they do.Go Als.
@jordwhit44 Actually, it was streamed on channelsurfing but most Americans are such ignorant navel-gazers that they don't even know that the CFL exists even though it's been in the USA and it's older than the NFL. With apologies to the great CFL fans in Baltimore. I know you're there and we appreciate you! :D
@setokaiba991 So the NHL should have folded long ago when MTL was always winning? You wouldn't think this way if Sask. had of won. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Why don't the Riders just get a better team
@serdiann033 k sry i read your comment wrong then im one of the guys that just likes football and likes to have a good time and unlike others not beek sayings oh you guys suck and all that other crap lol
@setokaiba991 You're an Argos fan aren't you? Only someone in Toronto would say something so anti-CFL. The Eskies once won 5 in a row. The Stamps won 3 with Flutie. It's not the Alouettes' fault that the Argos organization is about as good as every other Toronto sports franchise. It's not the Alouettes' fault that the Ticats can't beat the Argos and it's not the Alouettes' fault that the Blue Bombers sucked so bad this year. The 49ers dominated the 80s, did people say stupid shit like you do?
grey cup is always spectacular
I've been a huge CFL fan since 2005, it's fun and entertaining and they don't compete against the NFL which is why it's still alive and going
What a brilliant game!
I'd rather watch the grey cup then the super bowl!
TOTALLY!
Sucks to be a Montreal sports fan nowadays. The Als were once a powerhouse and now are in rebuilding mode. Habs haven't won, or even made it to the finals in nearly 25 years and we lost the Expos too. Impact are decent, but won't be a cup contender for a while.

Bring back the Expos!
you also lost the Montreal Express not to mention (National Lacrosse League)
godofwar2k6reborn I have some good news for you🥺
I like Montreal sports really I do I like the Canadians and wish the expos were back but we should have won 09
Should really stop putting the score in the title...I'm trying to explore! haha
@stlfatman It usually is a pretty sweet game every year. I think you can probably stream it online next year
If by some chance I took a job in Canada and the town I moved to had a CFL team, I'd follow the team, I'd go to games. It's a fun sport IMO.
It really is. I've been a fan for most of my life.
@99rojas5: Of course we like it. We've been playing it since the late 1800's.
If only this game would have been shown in the 'States... it looks like it was a sweet game!
always live on ESPN as well as so many other reg season and playoff games--BT Sport in uk too live
Im a Rider Fan From Regina and ya i think Calvillo is hard to stop when he's on fire. But Hey Time is On Our Side.
@SuperVancouverBC Oh okay, so it's been tried and failed before. Thanks for the info!
@SuperVancouverBC Good point. It would be messed up for a few years until everyone got used to the different rules. How are the size of the players different? Sorry to sound stupid, I'm not overly familiar with the CFL.

@rbjstang We Als fans thank you for your support and for losing to us in the Grey Cup twice! :D
MMM Grey Cup in sweet HD goodness.
Back to back, 2010 Grey Cup Champions, Montreal Alouettes, !! GO ALS GO !!
Irishman here. I agree CFL is better than NFL. Shame that Toronto and Montreal don't get behind the game in the way Calgary and Edmonton do. its a great sport.
Grey Cup Nation. Period.
In a way Rider fans (and to a lesser extent some other teams fans) contributed to their team losing by running their mouths about how Montreal was lucky last year...it's hard to be as hungry after winning a championship, but you gave them fuel to their fire. Thanks! Champions...again!
@The90sRock1995 umm we did a long time ago i think 4-5 of nfl teams came to play in the cfl a few seasons
chicago bears played the Alouettes in 1958
@SuperVancouverBC Oh, yes, that would put your players at a disadvantage. Merging would be more trouble than it would be worth.
@stlfatman it's called the cfl canadian football league so only canadians can watch it
@The90sRock1995 we cant because of the different rules plus the size of the players
The DYNASTY has just began people
@serdiann033 no shit lol congrats hopefully its a BC MTL GC next year
lool!! the durant throw for an interception is just priceless!!! why would u try to throw that ball in THOSE circumstances??!!
was trying to save the sack and throw it out of bounds
Have you guys ever considered merging with the NFL? Like how in hockey it's a Canada/US thing, not just Canada?
It couldn't happen since it's not same football they're playing; also, it's not sure there could. be a great audience or that the Canadian players could match the American one (after all, there are way more of them in total).

@CanadaEH96 I Agree Dude!
Oh come on! Don't spoil the result in the title... Some are new to CFL
@Herb615
Why? lol

@stlfatman replay on espn3.com....GO Als!
Actually Montreal has a good fan base I believe they sell out almost all their games it's just Toronto
Toronto is full of American wannabees. Only in the GTA does the Super Bowl get higher TV ratings than the Grey Cup. EVERYWHERE ELSE in Canada (including Hamilton), the opposite is true by quite a margin.
I miss these Argo uniforms
Those are the Montreal Alouettes
the fuck y talking
Anthony Calvillo reminds me of a poor man's Kurt Warner. Share some of the same qualities in the way they play, obviously against different levels of competition, but similar nonetheless
@teck9troublesome Trying to throw the football away so they don't lose yards and time on the clock.
well enough time 58 seconds

@jordwhit44 Actually, it was streamed on channelsurfing but most Americans are such ignorant navel-gazers that they don't even know that the CFL exists even though it's been in the USA and it's older than the NFL.
With apologies to the great CFL fans in Baltimore. I know you're there and we appreciate you! :D

No Redemption that night hahaha.
it was funny at the end because the staduim was empty lol
@Arsenal02071 Haha XD
I think montreal can sitback in 2011 and let some other teams win the grey cup. lol
@setokaiba991 So the NHL should have folded long ago when MTL was always winning? You wouldn't think this way if Sask. had of won. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Why don't the Riders just get a better team

you're fined for just playing agressive
@serdiann033 k sry i read your comment wrong then im one of the guys that just likes football and likes to have a good time and unlike others not beek sayings oh you guys suck and all that other crap lol
its funny how rider fans are still insulting the als when they lose lol
Sigh, what can you do, they have no class :D
Go Als Go!
