As a lifelong American NFL fan, this is one of the best football games I’ve ever seen played. This is the game that made me appreciate and become a fan of the CFL. It’s a great league!
I saw that crazy one-handed catch on that two-point conversion on a "crazy plays in sports history" compilation, saw the score, and just HAD to look for this game. What a crazy game... and it was in 2010? CFL should get a lot more attention.
I beg to differ ... when it comes to the Riders, the BEST game played was the 1989 Grey Cup. Propr to SJ Green as that was a phenomenal catch but again . let's not forget Duron Carter's end zone catch in 2018.
I will never forget Glen Suitor's reaction: 'Oh my, you have got to be kidding me". After what happened at the 2009 Grey Cup, to have this happen again was just too much.
One of only three games I've attended so far. And I was sitting center field, 15 rows back from the ALS bench! I got to witness the third highest scoring cfl game EVER!
Of course, certain "purists" will say that a game like this is awful. Their idea of s great game is one consisting of a defensive struggle consisting of thrilling 1 and 2 yard runs into the pile at the line of scrimmage with a 2-0 or 3-0 final score.
Considering the circumstances, (rematch of Grey Cup heartbreak of historical proportions. First game aired live on the NFL channel) this may well be the best game ever to be played in the CFL.
have season tickets. this was the only game i missed that year due to vacation, but was watching the game at my hotel. turned off the tv at 2:10 and went into the hotel pool. couldnt believe the final score when i saw it later, thought it was a typo. i have watched every rider game im not at until the end of the game since then.
I made that mistake with the Riders-Als game last August where Durant fumbled for a touchdown late in the 4th. I stormed out of the sports bar I was in to go meet up with friends. Didn't even bother to listen to the rest of the game on the radio. In the 15 minutes it took me to get across down, we tied it right back up and won on a last minute field goal.
@SexSteakSoda sometimes shootouts happen. THe shootout in the desert in the playoffs? Arizona 51, Green bay 45? what about pitt vs greenbay in week 15 where there were over 850 yards passing, and near a thousand yards total offense?
i live in the u.s. but i think cfl is just as good as any other game of football. the only thing i don't like is the field goal post right in the middle on the endzone, that's a safety hazard for sure.
a rouge is when the kicker misses a field goal attempt and the receiving team has the choice of giving up 1 point or running out of the end zone and no point is awarded, but that may put you in bad field position. Canadians universities play the 3 down game and use CFL rules.
Nicko7200, in OT each team gets a series with possession of the football. The team with the most points after a even number of possessions wins. If after two possessions the score remains tied then the game ends in a tie. New this year that on a touchdown in OT, the team must go for a 2 point convert.
It's funny, I was just watching NFL highlights and now I'm thinking, that field is huge. I'll watch some CFL highlights and later go back to NFL and think, that field is small.
CFL obviously has diffrent rules than NFL but our players get like 80k a season to play they dont cry for 10 million in my opinion NFL players =money hungry....CFL players= love the game
@nguyennathan agreed, but it does make for some funny plays lol. ive never actually seen someone run into it, unfortunately :P though i have seen passes go off of it
***** Not shown here are a bunch of pictures the sideline photographers got, and a couple camera angles. He got his elbow down in bounds with possession of the ball. In the CFL that's certainly a catch.
Craigmw45 his shoulder slid out of bounds before he had full possession. And yes I do watch CFL I'm from Regina. Don't know why I'm responding to a 2 year old comment😂
7 years later... I hope you have enjoyed the CFL in that time. Hopefully you're a Rider fan as well :) For anyone else wondering about the rules... It's similar to the NFL except it's a much larger field, larger endzones and the ball is bigger as well. Instead of 4 downs there is only 3, which makes it a pass-heavy game as there aren't enough downs to establish enough of a run game. This also makes the game move a lot quicker, and gives many opportunities for big plays. The other major difference is the Overtime rules. Each team gets a chance to score each round. Even if the first team scores a touchdown, the defending team gets the chance to respond. If they tie in points after the first round, the move on to the next round and try again. If they are still tied after three rounds, then the game ends with a tie. Whoever scores the most points in a round wins the overtime game.
It would be better if the OT rules were like in College. Both teams get the ball and the one that does not get a TD or Field goal loses. In other words even if won team get's a Field goal they still have to stop the other team from getting a TD or Field Goal.
I love how people come here and say the NFL is better. Who gives a fuck, any of these CFL players would destroy you. NFL has better players but it isn't for some mystical reason. You offer them more money, thats all. When the CFL and NFL offered equal money, they played each other and guess what? The CFL won. NFL has better athletes for sure, but CFL is way more exciting to watch. How often do you see people makes catches like Green did in the NFL?
@Herb615 LOL, your preaching to the wrong crowd on this video! I love football (this football) too much to give up although it would be good to see a canadian world cup soccer team.
Just because they aren't as talented doesn't mean it isn't more fun to watch than the NFL. I think of the CFL as college players with a little extra experience (with some exceptions).

its 2017, and still the greatest game that i've ever seen. And SJ Greens catch, still the one of greatest catches i have ever seen. As a rider fan

Instablaster
Best CFL game I've ever seen.
I respect you! You’re damn right!
This has to be one of the best football games ever especially considering the fact that they only had 3 downs to make shit happen.
by a longshot best football game i've ever seen
Hard to believe that was over 11 years ago now! This is still one of the best games I've seen. :3
12 years later and this is still an awesome game! And what a dream team the Als had back then!
Still gives me chills. What a game
I will never forget Glen Suitor's reaction: 'Oh my, you have got to be kidding me".
After what happened at the 2009 Grey Cup, to have this happen again was just too much.
Insane game to be at
ROB BAGG IN STRIDE AND ROB BAGG IS GOING TO SCORE AND NOW IT IS GAME ON!!!!!
This is still hands down the greatest football game I have ever watched in my life. NFL included. What a wild game.
This was the day that SJ Green made his human highlight reel debut.
I was lucky enough to go to that game. It's one of my favourites of all time.
One of only three games I've attended so far. And I was sitting center field, 15 rows back from the ALS bench! I got to witness the third highest scoring cfl game EVER!
I could watch this ALL day
12 seasons later. still the best opening game.
An amazing game. Classic CFL.
I don't get how anyone can dislike this game. Its a shoot out, everything Football should be.

Came here after the LA Rams beat the Kansas City Chiefs 54-51
This is the 2nd best football game I've ever seen, best is chiefs vs rams.
What did you prefer between those 2 games?
I just did the opposite
MOST AMAZING. CATCH. EVER.
This game was all about revenge.. I love my Riders!
What an amazing game.
This game= Game of the Year and Catch of the Year, what a game!
look how fast Rob bagg is running to catch maypray at 2:28 god is he fast!!
Man, one wishes the NFL also had games with scores like this.
Best football game ever played in the entire GALAXY
Of course, certain "purists" will say that a game like this is awful. Their idea of s great game is one consisting of a defensive struggle consisting of thrilling 1 and 2 yard runs into the pile at the line of scrimmage with a 2-0 or 3-0 final score.
Best Game Here.
Still a classic. #nostalgia 👏🏿💯
This game= Game of the Year
This game= Game of the Year and Catch of the Year
I'm from Calgary and have only ever seen two games in Regina. This was one of them.
Greatest game of all time
Oh hell yeah!!!
Rider Nation!!!!!!!
That was amazing.
Love Mosaic Stadium, Especially when the lights are on and its dark. Its a unbelieveable feeling,
I've been watching football for 25 years and haven't seen a better game than this. Does anyonne know where I can find a copy of the full game?
I was there that day, best game I have ever been to!
CFL also has a longer field and more players on the field
Considering the circumstances, (rematch of Grey Cup heartbreak of historical proportions. First game aired live on the NFL channel) this may well be the best game ever to be played in the CFL.

Levi Flaman I was at that game! You mean the one in august of 2013? If so that was the most memorable game i've ever been to.
Crazy game just bad we lost that one xD GO ALS GO !!!
@ 0:16 let the 2010 CFL Season begin
I will like to see the CFL champ play the NFL SUPERBOWL winner .
+Pierre Louis They wouldn't hang too well
+Pierre Louis Imagine the confusion if the Montreal Alouettes played the New England Patriots - those uniforms look a lot alike.
Edmonton vs Denver 😂😂😂
Ethan Roy That would be something.
Edmonton sucks this year, I'd rather see the Stampeders play the Broncos. And maybe BC could play Carolina. But what rules would they play by?
Man too bad Bagg is hurt...he's legit!
@SexSteakSoda in case you haven't noticed all nfl players who come to the cfl fail miserably.....
DAMN Good game right there.
@SexSteakSoda sometimes shootouts happen. THe shootout in the desert in the playoffs? Arizona 51, Green bay 45? what about pitt vs greenbay in week 15 where there were over 850 yards passing, and near a thousand yards total offense?
That was a game
Wow, a whole bunch of foot races there.
new rivalry mtl vs ssk
i live in the u.s. but i think cfl is just as good as any other game of football. the only thing i don't like is the field goal post right in the middle on the endzone, that's a safety hazard for sure.
Its okay we crushed the ruffriders for our second grey cup and watched theme do a stupid mistake when we won our first. Now that was fun to watch!
a rouge is when the kicker misses a field goal attempt and the receiving team has the choice of giving up 1 point or running out of the end zone and no point is awarded, but that may put you in bad field position. Canadians universities play the 3 down game and use CFL rules.

Pretty great game
Reminds me of the Big 12
Ouuuuuuuuu good one!
If you like shootouts then week 1 between the Montreal and Saskatchewan is best game of the year
Beet Rider in the 2009 greycup
It's funny, I was just watching NFL highlights and now I'm thinking, that field is huge. I'll watch some CFL highlights and later go back to NFL and think, that field is small.

@Herb615 HARDLY anybody in the USA cares for soccer, we just watch the world cup to root for our country.
@AgrivatedKillah
true
S.J Green's catch was definitely out of bounds but still it was deadly. Riders For Life!
If you knew the rules you would know that this was a catch, both his feet were down.
he touched down out of boounds before he got a foot down
*****

@@LoganMartini: You're from Regina...'nuff said!
they should make it a add on to madden
@StupidTeddybear the lockout will be over before the season start
hey i watch NFL and I am starting to watch CFL. Can someone tell me the basic rules of the CFL since I am very interested in it.
7 years later... I hope you have enjoyed the CFL in that time. Hopefully you're a Rider fan as well :)

damn man i take any kind of football righ tnow
@ 5:38 shades of the 97th grey cup
We got our revenge :-)... We the champs :-)
That's what you get Montreal

You basically just described CFL overtime lol.
just a few things that a different that i can think of
1. 3 downs rather than 4
2. 1 foot in rather than 2
3. jamming is illegal
doesnt look like the nfl has anything to do with this vid.........GO RIDERS!!!
@Herb615 No offense
but on this side of the map, we really don't kare about soccer...
I love how people come here and say the NFL is better. Who gives a fuck, any of these CFL players would destroy you. NFL has better players but it isn't for some mystical reason. Yeah, that was a great game. Somedays in cfl offense wins, other days defense, not always a set way to win unpredictable and fun to watchcfl.
@Love4SK Don't be a hater..... be respectful. Two different cultures. : )
lol 3:09 the 2 Montreal players
@Herb615
LOL, your preaching to the wrong crowd on this video! I love football (this football) too much to give up although it would be good to see a canadian world cup soccer team.
2:15 122 yd TD lol
@movsisyan14 I KNOW
Anthony Calvillio should have gone to the NFL. The best quarterback the CFL has had in a while. But Riders are still better!
@ 5:42 you're allowed 12 guys on the field they got 13.
@Mulakataan I agree with the first thing, but BOO ARGOS!!!
- am I the only one who think that CFL should Vs NFL ? yeah ? K ..
if i wasnt obligated, as a bombers fan, to hate the riders i might actually like them
Go Riders. maybe after the rider game we can catch a NFL game. O Wait i forgot The LOCKED OUT.
@JohnCenaDx2535 we never a game like this again.
so, do canadians play with ncaa college rules? I still do not get whats a rouge does anybody knows a video i can see?
I like 3:20
mna they should ahve a cfl game for ps3 and xbox 360 thumbs up if you aggre!
GO ARGOS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because they aren't as talented doesn't mean it isn't more fun to watch than the NFL. I think of the CFL as college players with a little extra experience (with some exceptions).
