I love seeing so many people predicting Ireland to finish 3rd or 4th in this year's Six Nations. It takes the pressure off the team, allowing them to focus without the weight of being favorites. A temporary change in leadership can often spur creativity and adaptability, qualities that are crucial in a competition as challenging as the Six Nations. My prediction? Ireland will win the Six Nations for a 3rd straight year, or at the very least finish a close second behind France. Ireland France England Scotland Italy Wales
Yeah good shouts. The top 4 could all take points off each other would also make it easy. If Ireland win it would be first 3peat in the 6 nations and the first of outright wins ever. So would be an amazing achievement
I agree with everything you wrote. I think we have already had the dip in performance due to Farrell leaving and the team will be more focused and the anxiety about Farrell leaving will be gone now. Usually the dip happens when the iconic coach is still in place but everyone knows he is leaving. Also Farrell is coming back and will be selecting for the Lions based on this Six Nations not so much the November series.
France won in 06 and 07, 3rd in 08, Wales won 12 and 13, 3rd in 2014, Ireland won 14 and 15, 3rd in 2016, England won 16 and 17, but a lowly 5th in 18, so Ireland finishing 3rd is not a bad call historically speaking, but the first 3 in a row would be something, I think its between France and Ireland for the title with France being a slight favourite.
@@geoffnelson6756 It would be low because there's a clear top 2 of France and Ireland. Finishing outside of that is low. Difficult to just compare stats of previous tournaments without the full picture of each. Misleading.
Yeah the lack of 3 in a rows surprised me even going back to the 5 nations and home nation championship days nobody ever won 3 in a row of outright wins. I think 3 teams have done it with shared titles but nobody outright. It’s a very difficult thing to do
Ireland at home to France and England, this championship is wide open. No grand slam winner but there will be one unreal last weekend of games. This will probably go down to points difference. Any on of the top 4 could win. Will be an interesting championship
As a Scot, well actually someone half Scottish and half Swiss (like James Bond) who played with and against some great players (the greatest of whom was Jonathan Davies, he was unbelievable). England are always dangerous, trust me, I grew up in a part of Scotland called England.
I don't see how France doesn't win this tournament, they look so good, and so determined... England just need to learn how to win with this group, because they impressed me against the Southern Hemisphere powerhouses in November...
There are explanations as to Ireland's mediocre form in the Autumn other than they are on a downward spiral. Ireland were missing a significant amount of players and a number were in poor form for their clubs at a early partof the playing season. That is not really the case at the moment and the form of our key players has much improved. However, it is good that the pundits are writing off Ireland. That is exactly the scenario for Ireland to perform at its best.
I think the injuries might be a bit of a write off for Scotland this year unfortunately. I see Sione as an absolute lynchpin of Scotlands game and without him I think we might lack a lot of the flair that makes us a great team.
Pretty good mate. I think France or Ireland most likely win but advantage France with maybe gran slam. If those 2 don't play well, then England might get the win. Finally if those 3 don't do well, then Scotland might snatch the win. The last 2, will be the last 2 no matter what.
Cool vid. Agree with France. Maybe it's because my head is still ringing from last weekends euro matches, but every player looks immense. Our only hope is they implode in an old school France way.
I agree that Italy might not be the wooden spoon holder this year. Wales will lose every game including away to Italy which will be their only win, so Italy in 5th. I have a hunch that Scotland will go ahead of England this year and go to 3rd,above England in 4th. I believe Ireland having two home games against both England and France will be significant. It's very difficult to win in Dublin, Ireland could lose by a small margin to Scotland so, I see another Irish 6 Nations but no grand slam. I'm writing all this before watching the last 10 minutes of the video so I'll be interested in your analysis.! Update : Very interesting analysis mate !. I get the point that Ireland haven't been playing that well and with Andy not there it might be a factor. However you can't look at Ireland without looking at Leinster. Leinster have won every game this season, 11 on the trot if I remember correctly, and that's despite not playing that well. I'm not feeling any sense of doom about Ireland's chances this year and having beaten France in Dublin and then in France, it's not beyond a possibility for another one. Anyway, enjoy the games, it will be exhilarating and heartbreaking depending on where we all end up !
And in Scotland, you have Blair Kinghorn ! 👍 He is well known here in France, he actually perform in club. About the final result, we are prundent in the Continent for severals reasons. We leave slowly the trauma of the world cup, with the 7 and olympics adventure of Dupont ; the Aumun Series was good and the europe clubs first tour was very good. But... ...but we haven't a deep regularity like in 2022. And our scrum is weak in comparaison of 2022-2023, any 1st line player change can be catastrophic in a match. And, as you seen the match against Irland is in Irland : mathematics can be agaisnt France (depend on the datas you sected). 📊
Scotland hasn't adapted to the new kicking interpretations, I don't see them coming close to second. I feel France may get a shock from England, but will likely still win the tournament
Ok ireland aren’t exactly amazing atm but on the decline over the past few years? Won the 6n twice, best South Africa in South Africa and lost to New Zealand which isn’t exactly a terrible team to lose to
well I sure hope you are Nostradamus on this one because I want this ranking to become real 😅 Man if we somehow wins the Six Nations with 2 away fixtures in Twickenham & the Aviva Stadium if will be one to remember lol (Grand Slam or not) because it happened only once and the last time France won a Six Nations with 3 away games it was in 2007 but we never won a Grand Slam in this format though lmfao it would be a first.
#6 = Wales I have to agree with you there. Wales are going through some deep pathologies, and they seem to not want to fire Warren Gatland, which may well not be sufficient to improve but is definitely necessary. It'll be very sad, not necessarily because they don't deserve it, but because it might well not change anything. Two wooden spoons in a row is rock bottom for a team of Wales's pedigree, and that's only okay if they start climbing out of the hole they're in. Here's hoping. #5 = Italy Absolutely not. FORZA ITALIA 😤First ever Grand Slam, all 28 points, new Kings of the Northern Hemisphere, all plebs west of Milan to pay homage. /s No but for real, at the end of the 2023 campaign, I predicted that they'd win a Six Nations within fifteen years, so we're still on track. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they'll prevail over England. Mostly this is just because I really want them to, but if you want a more substantive reason: for all that I love ma boi Marcus Smith (and I love him *deeply*; he's far and away my favourite male England player), he isn't the hardnosed pragmatist that George Ford is. We won against Italy last year by one penalty in a game in which Ford attempted and scored _five_ of them. If they start turning the heat up on us, Smith isn't likely to respond by hunkering down and trying to kick as many goals as he can to drag us over the finishing line, which might be what we'd need. #4 = England Yeah, you're probably right, which is a shame because mid-table is the worst possible position for us to end up in. If we won or came in a close second, then there'd be a sign that Borthwick was actually capable of improving things a year on from that belter of a game against Ireland (I was there! It was amazing), but if we came bottom then that would provide us the impetus to get rid of him. We're two years out from the next men's Rugby World Cup, and I'd like a result that we actually earnt, and we're not getting it as it stands. It's been two years, and the stats are damning: basically 50:50 against everyone, and only one game out of eleven won against France, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa. It's not good enough, and we need extreme results to galvanise change. #3 = Ireland OHHH, SHOTS FIRED. That'd be a chaos goblin Six Nations table, and I'm here for it. I'm actually of Irish ancestry, so I've been a bit sad about Ireland for a while now. I really thought the RWC final was gonna be them and France, and I watched them build thirty-seven phases against the All-Blacks! 😭 Their star has definitely faded - even though they won against Australia, I described it to the family groupchat as the "most boring game of rugby union I've ever seen" - and I buy that the loss of Andy Farrell is gonna hit them a lot harder than we might think. Do I agree though? Well... #2 = Scotland Honestly, I've reached the point where I'm gonna be really miffed if you don't win the Calcutta Cup. Even if we didn't super need a terrible campaign, we don't deserve it. You're our Kryptonite; it's like France and the Red Roses, or the USMNT and the England men's football team, and it's kinda nice in a perverse way. Assuming that we don't fuck it all up for you, I can see the rest of it happening, God willing, except for Ireland. I really hope you do beat them, but I can see them pulling a rabbit out of the hat. #1 = France Last man standing in the Northern Hemisphere, really. I was dismayed to see how badly France did last year when shorn of Dupont. I think I agree with your prediction of a Grand Slam; I don't think Ireland are up to scratch against them. And hey, maybe they'll hand us another record defeat at home 💀
Christ dude you lot are getting as bad as the boks fans. No one is insulting Ireland with saying you’ll likely struggle this year, it’s just as likely you could win it at a canter. As Connor says it’s a combination of already being in a shuddery patch where having Farrell would likely actually resolve that, and also not having Farrell Please stop acting like a petulant child and actually just engage with the thought
@@keirlamont2806 Autumn form is not really important. A significant amount of the first team players were either injured, returning from injury or just not playing well for their provinces at that time. Munster were going through a turbulent time with the departure of their Head Coach a few weeks before. A few months on that is completely changed. Leinster are undefeated in all competitions. Munster's form has picked up too. Crowley, Beirne, Nash and even Murray are playing exceptionally well. Bundee and Hanson are playing well for Connacht as is Izuchukwu from Ulster. This is probably the strongest and most in form Ireland have been able to put out in years. Also think the whole Farrell thing is overstated. Farrell has not moved. He only lives a mile down the road from the Aviva and whilst he might not actively coach, he can give advice or speak to players on game day. Besides Easterby is an excellent coach who has worked with Ireland for 14 years designed one of the best defensive systems in the World and has managed successful tours to South Africa with Emerging Ireland.
@@keirlamont2806 maybe if stats backed up his prediction but they don't, Ireland fielded 40+ players in the Autumn, they changed the back line in ALL of them games and were missing 4 of their first 15 starters in the backs as well as 2 of their front 3 and bedded in a new fly YET conceeded 1 try per game during that period compared to 2 by France, 3+ by Scotland and close to 5 by England. We over the course of the year were the only team to Beat SA in SA and our 3 loses were 1 to England by an 82 min drop, Away in SA by one score and to NZ in our first game in 5 months playing a Kiwi team who'd played 11 in the last 3 months! Oh and they could only score 1 try against us... the hate on Ireland or should I say jealousy is real but we love it because Scotland have shat the bed and believed their own hype so long now that they actually believe they are contenders in the 6N ffs man it'll be France and Ireland and then Eng/Scot with Wal/Itl that is how the 6N will pan out with either of them 3 groups finishing eith ahead or behind the other.
Am laughing my ass off at ireland finishing 3rd(no chance) must be Scottish humour again i am sure Scotland has never finished in the top 2 in the 6 nations. Yes Scotland can beat anyone on there day but usually they can't put a string of matches together. Last year losing to Italy was unforgivable. Gregor has never beaten ireland if he doesn't this year it won't happen under his watch. As i irish fan it has to happen at some stage we will lose to Scotland. I think France will win 6 nations but ireland should be pretty close no slam this year.
We'll likely never win anything with Townsend in charge. He's too stubborn with his decisions. Omitting Johnny Matthews the man who has been the top try scorer in the URC for the last 2 seasons is something no one can understand.
@lloydc1092 our front 5 are to weak and our popgun squad replacements even weaker. Being on the back foot for 3 quarters of the games is going to be our problem. I hope you are right with your prediction, but my head says that on form we aint gunna win a game. Lets hope all the same. Could France sore a point per minute in their first game ? That's a good question.
Ireland for me. All provinces are playing well and no absentees except for Cassey. This was definitely not the case in the Autumn. Love that Scotland fans are bigging themselves up again before they play us. O' Mahony will take note.
Most Scotland fans are well aware of where we stand I’d say and know fine well chances are slim, however it’s nice to have some hope, something we never had for years and this isn’t a terrible team so never know.
Do you really think all the provinces are playing well? Because Ulster got seriously thrashed, they’re also the worst team qualified for the Champions Cup round of 16 and only made it thanks to Bordeaux thrashing the Sharks last weekend.
@clementleboedec5920 Ulster are at the very beginning of a rebuild and have a lot of young players who lack experience. Whilst their results haven't been great there are definitely signs they are improving albeit not dramatically.. Some of their individual players have performed well.
@@neilmontgomery3470 Well, I hope they manage to rebuild their team. The matches between these two teams have always been pretty good overall. Not long ago, in 2022 I think, Ulster came very close to knocking out my team (Toulouse) in a two-legged tie. Toulouse qualified with just a one-point lead on aggregate. What a stressful day that was...
@@SmcdMcd-d2k There is, but with current form and Dupont and Ntamack I doubt France will fall back. Last year was a blowback from the failure of the RWC and Ireland have peaked for this cycle imo/

@@SmcdMcd-d2k Ireland was better than France last year but even then the second 6N was not as easy, lost to England. The 2023 Grandslam was much more convincing. I think they are looking for new blood so it's a process. France has the full package imo.
With that being said I think Ireland is still a great team. I think it'll be a fight between France and Ireland but maybe Italy will finally do it, crossing fingers :D
You're talking through your hat and copying what other UA-camrs are saying there is no way in this world you can predict these, and i think Wales will surprise a lot of people.
@ConnorDoesRugby i feel like this is the closest they've come which is why Tuipulotu's injury is so heartbreaking. Oh well onwards and upwards I don't see the Scots ending up like us any time soon!
Also, steadily declined? We won the six nations, then a series draw in South Africa, then won 3 out of 4 in November despite injuries and line out struggles, now our provinces are doing well in the URC and in Europe. If that’s decline I’ll take it
So how are Scotland clear favourites ? If ireland just lost to all blacks .. and Scotland lost to SA? They might be strong favourites along with one or two others
Brave man!
I think Scotland's injuries are going to be way more of a hindrance than a lack of a Farrell.

@keirlamont2806 that guy is not an ireland fan we disown him. I do think we'll make top 2 but france look too strong
@@joelyons886 you sure you’re not South African, my bru?
No they can't beat anyone on their day, they have never beaten NZ and the last time they beat Ireland William Wallace was coach.
Lost me at Ireland
Good luck Scotland, for the slam, from Ireland
I can see where you're going. Ireland are probably due a defeat in Edinburgh.
I just have a feeling wales might surprise a few people 🤷♂️
@lloydc1092 our front 5 are to weak and our popgun squad replacements even weaker. Being on the back foot for 3 quarters of the games is going to be our problem. I hope you are right with your prediction, but my head says that on form we aint gunna win a game. Lets hope all the same. Could France sore a point per minute in their first game ? That's a good question.
3rd!? Fair enough but I feel like busting out a Rodney Dangerfield impression… “Can’t get no respect”
Ireland for me. All provinces are playing well and no absentees except for Cassey. This was definitely not the case in the Autumn. Love that Scotland fans are bigging themselves up again before they play us. O' Mahony will take note.
He's young and has not had all hope beaten from him yet! 😅 As a Scotland fan, Ireland favourites for me including I regret to say at Murrayfield.
Teams have to earn wins whether their due them or not.
I think Ireland 2nd is the most likely outcome. England won’t beat Ireland at home, surely.
France. No explanation needed
There’s an explanation for all the teams tbf.
@@SmcdMcd-d2k There is, but with current form and Dupont and Ntamack I doubt France will fall back. Last year was a blowback from the failure of the RWC and Ireland have peaked for this cycle imo/
@ yeah, but I mean Ireland also had a failure at the World Cup. But I suppose give him a French team won the premiership last year. Could be there for France
Wales are awful atm just awful. I’ll send you a tenner if they win one match in the six nations
Autumn intls are Ireland at their lowest ebb in the cycle. Don't be fooled.
whomever wins between Ireland and France will win it out.
Scotland are are a great Team , but Injury's and NO BENCH ........ ???
Italy won against Georgia
🇫🇷🏴
Wales fan here… I will be rooting for Scotland to be champions; I’d love to see them lift the trophy
Me too, but i don’t see it unfortunately 😔
@ConnorDoesRugby i feel like this is the closest they've come which is why Tuipulotu's injury is so heartbreaking. Oh well onwards and upwards I don't see the Scots ending up like us any time soon!
FRANCE WILL WIN THE LOT.
Come on Scotland our C team could beat you
ITS SCOTLANDS YEAR AGAIN 😂😂😂
Always is 🤣
Calm down irish folk its jst an opinion.
Also, steadily declined? We won the six nations, then a series draw in South Africa, then won 3 out of 4 in November despite injuries and line out struggles, now our provinces are doing well in the URC and in Europe. If that’s decline I’ll take it
The gap is huge in European clubs. France will run for the gran slam in Dublin succefuly.
Scotland are clear favourites after a successful Autumn series. The only other team to have a successful Autumn was France.
So how are Scotland clear favourites ? If ireland just lost to all blacks .. and Scotland lost to SA? They might be strong favourites along with one or two others
@SmcdMcd-d2k the expectation of World media has Scotland as favourites.Thats all im saying .
@@dazza4345 France have Dupont which should make them automatic favourites.
@ world media? WTF is world media?
Favourite Scots to lose.😂😂😂😂😂😂
scots being confident for no reason. havent won shite for 25 years
This new Scottish bullishness has been noted in Irish media and particularly in the O' Mahony household😅
France are just the new shiny toy everyone's getting excited about.
Ireland's the lose and they probably dont lose it.
