I went on Facebook for 6 months around 10 years ago after being hassle by my out of country family as a means of "staying in touch". I realized that it was a excessive in myopic narcissism and got off completely....no twitter either...same thing. The concept of social media is most cases(but not all) is a giant time waster that makes one self absorbed. (IMO)
I’m happy that I’m old enough (44) to have grown up without social media. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for those young people who have had it around all their lives...
I'm 38 and I have never had social media. Some of my friends say I need one for my buisness. I think I'm going to stay old school and keep it word of mouth. I am addicted to youtube though.
I had to get off social media. I got it to stay in touch with friends from college and family who i don't see much anymore. When I got married I added my wife, her mom and sister etc. It turned into "did you see what ___ posted?" or "why didn't you like my post?". I would say "no because (either) i don't care/i see you regularly so i don't care what you post. I have Facebook for people who i don't see all the time " then of course i would get the next question "why did you post that?". So as my friends and family grew up and posted less i got off.
Social media is but one tool in your marketing kit. To not use it to drive your business in 2020 is... well... foolish. Especially if your target audience is under the age of 50. What Kevin is talking about is personal use of social media not when someone using it as a business tool. Your business won’t get low self esteem from being promoted on Facebook.
05:00. Yes Rogan said it best ppl ONLY focus and give attention to the negative post/comments those get the most likes and shares amd and comments compared to the positive post 👀
Taking personal responsibility is one of the most powerful things you can do with your life. So many people like to pretend the world/society is keeping them down, when in reality it's themselves. Kevin also teaching financial responsibility, he's a true community hero that just wants the best for everyone!
I love you Joe!!! I binge your channel all of the time and I reallly enjoy your content!!! Fell asleep listening to some of your older episodes with Graham Hancock!!! Brilliant Man!!! 🤘🏼You Rock!!!
I hate this social media comma we are in,be afraid ,be jealous, be overly judgmental, like this, like that.....its 3rd person standards forced on us constantly
I deleted all my social media 2 years ago. My life is so much better and positive without it. More people should try it, at least take a few months off :)
Kevin got so successful that he’s way too PC all the time now for fear of losing that cheddar. Makes him hard to listen to because you’re just listening to his “representative self”.
Alexander Smith Nah Kevin has been PC far before the oscars. His comedy routines used to be hilarious, now they’re a hard watch. He made it less controversial in order to appeal to more people and make more money; unfortunately it was at the cost of being funny.
That's so true. I couldn't figure out what it was. He's like the personification of southern California and LA, with all the positive mental attitude and super liberal views on virtually everything. Every time I've seen him on Rogan, it always feels like he's reading a prepared statement. But I think you're right, I think that's just his fake persona.
This is what happens to everyone that gets big, and comments like yours are always made. What do you want him to do? Cater to a smaller demographic and worsen his chances for success? Is that what you would do if you were in his shoes? This "anti-PC" shit is so stale and short sighted the more you think about it, but I doubt anyone is actually thinking when they still make comments like this.
On short, the moment you get offended by words on a screen... you know you're not mature enough to be called an adult. Work on that. Words are just words. They may hurt but people saying that they are important and life changing or that they harm themselves because some random block of text said they should... well they're just dumb.
Twitter is a digital hell. No one should attempt to take anything of value from a digital space where 280 characters are the extent of your ability to communicate
Keep progressing and you will get there, I believe in you! Life can be weird and confusing at times, but by focusing on yourself, understanding yourself and improving yourself you will come out feeling much happier I promise you. Just put yourself first 🙏🏻
Keep trying mate. It will probably be a very hard and long road ahead but you'll be much better off for it on the other side. Plenty of us in the same position so you're not alone .
Social media has caused me to lose respect and love for a lot of people i know, simply because the vanity that exudes from it paint a 100% different picture of a person than the one i know.
Live life, by your terms, not the terms of e everyone else. This is what Social media has done, it has taken away your choice, for a bunch of others that don't speak from their soul, but speak from what they think will get them more likes.
absolutely right, I always got envious on people better than me on the internet. Always negative, and I just started believing things were based on genes and talent.
I got rid of my social media 2 months ago, so during the pandemic I haven’t had as much “access” as everyone else. I can honestly say I am anxiety free. Finally. It’s worth it, and you’ll get rid of people that weren’t meant to be apart of your life in the first place.
Y’all just need to take breaks from social media. On and off, that’s the best way to go about things. Social media is apart of our lives it’s okay to be apart of it.
Yup, I went off it for two months detoxing to remove the addiction and now I’m back in but I try to check it once a week in limited time. Its tough tho.
Kevin Hart is incredibly inspiring. His drive, waking up early, exercising & getting things done while keeping a sense of humour just fascinates me. What he's saying about social media and in the Jeff bezos vid about 'everybody being too cool' is 1000% right. Just yesterday I was with my girl and I saw a group of friends i haven't seen in a year that i have been texting, I said hi but I wanted to go over and talk to them but i didn't bc it felt like everything 'was chill' there was 'no need to disrupt'. Smd. What Kevin says is so relevant
Kevin Hart has become quite a humble, great human being. Paying it forward is what makes legends. Kevin Hart is quickly picking up close to that status. Proud of him.
Traditional social media gets paid off of negativity and time spent on their app... time you spend wasting your life.. delete Facebook Instagram etc or at minimum reduce the time spent and get out and live life
Social media has definitely negatively affected the youths phycologically...I wish social media would disappear honestly..go back to way the world was like in the 90's...sigh
I deleted all of my social media accounts (Insta,FB,Twitter,SC) as my new year resolution 3 years ago. I’m never going back. My view of life is great now
Hm. I love social media! I’ve gotten a lot of hate for being too open about my love life on podcasts but at the end of the day im grateful for it. I’m also in love with the idea of seeing my public logs from 10 years ago on twitter and seeing how i used to behave.
Social media is way more negative than positive i told my girl as soon as we started dating she can't have social media she got me she don't need that fake shit in her life
Kevin is actually standing during the whole podcast
😂😂😂
Lmaoooooo
Standing on the chair too
That's what happens when you buy a car you can't see over the steering wheel of.
Just realized Kevin Hart and Glenn Danzig jokes are interchangeable.
Best advice I've received recently...
"Get off social media"
It's worth it

I’d say for every1 it is a problem but mostly for millennials.
You know...I didn't expect this vibe from Kevin but I'm glad to see it. Wise words.
Social media can be really beneficial if you're starting a small business or something. Besides that I think you're better off without.

I admire how genuine Kevin is. I think that sort of thing is what makes him stand out as a comedian.

To me he's a better motivational speaker than a comedian. 😂
