    With these big showcase models id argue that if they were priced more like another kit ($40-60) they'd sell more to people who just want to paint it up or have it as another display piece. A gundam kit can be in the same range and sell because people just want to put together something cool. Especially with the multi part and customization opportunities. If it was 40-60, I'd have more than one just to paint up in different ways or customize the living hell out of it. Heck at $40 Id buy it just for the bits. Ive got a project that tail would be perfect for and at that range Id get it for only that. But $110 I got no reason to buy him unless I ever want to expand a Necron army. GW's pricing is a self fulfilling prophecy cause they don't think they'll sell outside of tournament players. This is a gorgeous model

    This is just a thought that I had, but would it be possible to build JUST the actual model of the Void Dragon, without the lightning etc? Because, I actually quite like the look of the void dragon as is, without all the extra lightning effects etc.

    And also the sculpture on it's own has a value beside the amount of plastic or sells, a bigger and more detailed sculpture is more valuable than the same amount of plastic in smaller and less detailed sculptures

    it looks like you have an army that i maybe want to collect.
    I made this list, but i have no clue if it works/if its allowed etc.
    The Silent King + C'Than Shard of the void Dragon
    Lord + Technomancer + Royal Warden

      Too elite, you should never really use a c’tan shard and the silent king together due to the being nearly half you army on big models.

    All C'tans are One per type/Per Army.
    So Your Army will only need one. so pricing as such makes sense.

    • @PinoyCarter
      @PinoyCarter 4 роки тому

      I understand the logic and give some leeway in my criticism because of that, but 110 USD is tough to swallow when other c'tan were 40. Nearly tripled price is brutal even with design costs.

      @@PinoyCarter To be fair those old C’tan were half the size and probably a quarter of the parts

    • @PinoyCarter
      @PinoyCarter 3 роки тому

      @@epicwaba6424 The scale explains *a* price increase over other c'tan, undoubtedly. However, scale/complexity is a poor justification for 3x cost when you look at other kits around the GW line.
      The uniqueness applies to all of the other c'tan, but adding it to the scale & materials could've been far more reasonable at $80.

    • @epicwaba6424
      @epicwaba6424 3 роки тому

      @@PinoyCarter You also have to take into account that the older C’tan are resin.
      I got my Void Dragon resold new for $95 US

    • @PinoyCarter
      @PinoyCarter 3 роки тому

      @@epicwaba6424 The discounts available near me equate to a similar price (off the shelf). It's not really an argument since discounts would also apply to a cheaper retail price.
      I do realize that there are other kits of similar or even greater prices as well, but I disagree with their prices too. Enough plastic kits, of more substance than lightning arcs covering over 1/3rd of the model, exist in the $60-80 range, that the material argument falls flat.

    pretty sure the numbers for the legs on this guide were the wrong way round.(numbers for the left leg were the right leg numbers)

      15:54 you can see the right leg on the sprue is labelled 10 and at 7:47 you can see the right leg components in the guide are 8 and 7. So yeah I'm certain tbh. Real shame

    GW is raising their prices in the middle of a global pandemic where money is tight
    And the worse part is people are actually letting them get away with it. Because it's a new kit and we're addicted to the plastic crack

    You can buy an Imperial Star Destroyer Model from Star Wars, that is bigger then that with way more pieces and a lighting kit for cheaper then that and they sell way less of them. GW knows they got the monopoly on us and they taking advantage of it. That why they Billion dollar company now. I hope 3d printing, bankrupts them. Game is starting to be the same old same old anyway. Buy new books every year. We need more competition in this hoppy.

    Price relevancy does not exist in this case bcoz it aint plastic quanity! Its plastic quality, in otherwords, yur buying a patriarch special characters here, not some blowjo grunts! Thats why its expensive! You dont see ork warboss ghaskull for less do you???

    • @damianwomack4668

      No mass produced model of this size should cost this much money. Same goes for the new Monolith and Silent King. Other companies sell products MUCH more detailed and made of WAY more material for a fraction of the price GW is asking for their kits nowadays. It's practically robbery

      @@damianwomack4668 Yes, while yur arguement holds true. And i do agree with you but its all but a business my friend! And therefore all aspects including the IP, trademarks, copyrights and everything in between, don't forget inflation, costs money to run a business. Just think if you had a company of this size, what would you do? .... This is not a Mom & Pop business my son, and all of this is a matter of perspective and yes, it cuts both ways but im afraid thats how the world does and goes about their business to keep upcosts in costs! We as customers has rights too but not as lenient as they have bcoz its up to you if you wanna buy into it or not, and if not, well then there's always third party stuff. And that's the way the ball bounces!
