Man I have so much respect for how you broke down the assembly. I started collecting minis because of the Pandemic and your vids have been super helpful. Thanks a lot man.
With these big showcase models id argue that if they were priced more like another kit ($40-60) they'd sell more to people who just want to paint it up or have it as another display piece. A gundam kit can be in the same range and sell because people just want to put together something cool. Especially with the multi part and customization opportunities. If it was 40-60, I'd have more than one just to paint up in different ways or customize the living hell out of it. Heck at $40 Id buy it just for the bits. Ive got a project that tail would be perfect for and at that range Id get it for only that. But $110 I got no reason to buy him unless I ever want to expand a Necron army. GW's pricing is a self fulfilling prophecy cause they don't think they'll sell outside of tournament players. This is a gorgeous model
This is just a thought that I had, but would it be possible to build JUST the actual model of the Void Dragon, without the lightning etc? Because, I actually quite like the look of the void dragon as is, without all the extra lightning effects etc.
And also the sculpture on it's own has a value beside the amount of plastic or sells, a bigger and more detailed sculpture is more valuable than the same amount of plastic in smaller and less detailed sculptures
it looks like you have an army that i maybe want to collect. I made this list, but i have no clue if it works/if its allowed etc. The Silent King + C'Than Shard of the void Dragon Lord + Technomancer + Royal Warden 3 Canoptek Doomstalkers 2x 20 Necron Warriors what you think any tips ?
I understand the logic and give some leeway in my criticism because of that, but 110 USD is tough to swallow when other c'tan were 40. Nearly tripled price is brutal even with design costs.
@@epicwaba6424 The scale explains *a* price increase over other c'tan, undoubtedly. However, scale/complexity is a poor justification for 3x cost when you look at other kits around the GW line. The uniqueness applies to all of the other c'tan, but adding it to the scale & materials could've been far more reasonable at $80.
@@epicwaba6424 The discounts available near me equate to a similar price (off the shelf). It's not really an argument since discounts would also apply to a cheaper retail price. I do realize that there are other kits of similar or even greater prices as well, but I disagree with their prices too. Enough plastic kits, of more substance than lightning arcs covering over 1/3rd of the model, exist in the $60-80 range, that the material argument falls flat.

Lord + Technomancer + Royal Warden
3 Canoptek Doomstalkers
2x 20 Necron Warriors
what you think any tips ?
Luckily you get the warden with I think 10 necron warriors in the recruit box
Too elite, you should never really use a c’tan shard and the silent king together due to the being nearly half you army on big models.
All C'tans are One per type/Per Army.
So Your Army will only need one. so pricing as such makes sense.
