TotK spirit temple was really cool, and the puzzles required me a lot to figure out in the "correct" way.
Between dissipating the storm, following the laser, connecting the pieces, then travel the underworld to fight the boss with the new tool, it was a blast

TotK water temple on the other way... It felt like a slower version of Mario sunshine, and it was much easier.
Edit: easier than the other dungeons

    Honestly? Regarding the original game...
...I dislike Level 6 - The Dragon more than Level 9 - Death Mountain. The peak in difficulty if you go into the dungeons in order is noticeable there - Wizzrobes that wreck you unless you have good defense and a magic shield, and have no weakness; and rooms with combos of Bubbles and Like-Likes that _will_ make you lose your magic shield, making you even more vulnerable to the Wizzrobes. Death Mountain may be tough and a big ass maze, but at least you're expected to have a lot of equipment by then - the magic key makes the rooms easier, since you don't have to kill everything. Level 6 on the other hand is a sore point in what's essentially a rather alright difficulty curve.
Then again, I'm surprised you didn't mention the dungeons in the Second Quest...

I'd say the Fire Sanctuary is the weakest from SS and the Water Temple is the weakest from TOTK. Both the Sandship and the Construct Factory/Spirit Temple were really cool and unique in my eyes.

What about Tri-Force Heroes? My pick for that one is the Grim Temple, what with its color-coded platforms making falling a nightmare, the ReDeads that paralyze you unless you swap to another Link and the ever-unlikable Prankster Poes. The only saving grace is the boss, Prismantus.

Though Tears of the Kingdom did up the dungeon game so that they could actually be called 'dungeons' again, I still feel like all the dungeons failed to live up to their potential. That being said, I felt the lost Goron City was worse than spirit temple. Like spirit temple, it had a lot of buildup, but ended up just being a rail car rally lacking in atmosphere, where you hit a few checkpoints and you're done. Boss was decent though. At least Spirit Temple required a creative use of the construction mechanics, and didn't overstay its disappointing welcome. The water temple was disappointing too, but was also mercifully short. Only the Wind dungeon and the desert dungeon were anywhere close to the classic Zelda quality. I wish Nintendo would just toss the open world mechanics and go back to the N64/Wii style world design already. Or, at the very least, a less expansive 'open world' with more focus on set pieces, would be preferable to the vast but empty worlds we're getting now.

In Four Swords Adventures, only the X-3 levels are dungeons. The Lost Woods is either 4-2 or 5-2, but either way it's not a dungeon.

yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I just put what the hardest general area of each Zelda game it is to traverse through since not many people played 4 swords that much.

Jabu Jabu's Belly is better than the N64 version of the Water Temple, but not the 3DS version. Why? Because the quality of life improvements in the 3DS version fixed many complaints most of us had for that dungeon. Meanwhile the N64 version had it be WAY too easy to get lost even compared to Janu-Jabu's Belly.
Doesn't make up for the 3DS version of MM nerfing Ice Arrows though.

      @devonm042690 10 місяців тому

Uh, no. Jabu Jabu's Belly was never better than the Water Temple. Jabu Jabu's Belly is an escort mission. Just because the escort is invulnerable, _and_ doubles as both an improvised weapon and a weight, doesn't detract from the frustration of escort missions. In fact, the latter makes it more aggravating, since there's one spot where you _have_ to leave her behind and then listen to her rant about how 'inconsiderate' you are.
I don't even get how so many people still think the Water Temple is a bad dungeon. I get that it was confusing to navigate as kids, but adults players who struggle with it should be able to piece things together with the help of the map and compass. Plus, everyone continuing to complain about how 'bad' the Water Temple is creates a bias in new players to expect the Water Temple to be a tedious, confusing mess, so when things aren't completely straightforward at least half of them just nod along with what they were told.
I'm not saying the Water Temple is the _best_ dungeon in OoT (that gold medal will forever be pinned on the carved bosom of the Spirit Temple), but it's definitely not the worst. Heck, if you want to talk about navigation mistakes in dungeons costing you time, you haven't seen a navigation mistake in a dungeon cost you time until you've fallen off the precarious walkway leading to the Megaton Hammer chest, falling into the massive hole all the way back down to 1F.
Edit: So I just watched further into the video and realized you probably meant the OoA version of Jabu Jabu's belly. If so, I have to say that while I've never played that one, I've heard from people who find the Water Temple confusing that it's far worse to navigate than the Water Temple.

@@devonm042690 I was referring to the Oracle of Ages version of Janu-Jabu's Belly, not the Ocarina of Time version. Correct.
My fault for not clarifying from the get-go.

I whole heatedly disagree on LttP. Skull Woods is by far the worst dungeon. A confusing layout, having to exit and enter so may times, the fact that it's easy to get lost in the first part of the dungeon, and easy to waste keys. I always dread this dungeon most of all.
Also, OoT. People need to stop dumping on the Water Temple. It's not as straight-out Ward as the rest of the dungeons in the game, yes. But it is more of a puzzle dungeon instead of a combat dungeon. It's most tedious parts are the backtracking, but it was intentionally made that way.
(Yes I know I am defending the Water Temple for some of the same things I decried about the Skull Woods, but they are different temples in different games. The Water Temple was slower paced the the rest of OoT, but that made you think. It was well designed around it's central mechanic.. Meanwhile Skull Woods just felt like it was poorly designed from the word go)

My friend told me to choose skull woods. But everything I saw online pointed to the ice, one being the most annoying. Also for the Water dungeon, you're right I actually think it's quite underrated, it's just that most people dislike it. I actually think the atmosphere and mini boss are fantastic.

I’ll say the ice palace is worse on one part… the small hallway section where you have to avoid several fire bars, but Skull Woods is by far my least favorite dungeon (and boss) in Alttp

I actually liked the forest dungeon because it included the dark woods instead of just being a building in the middle of them. The boss key puzzle is a real pain, but you can cheese some of the gaps by walking along the wall edge.

Skull Woods in ALTTP is by far the worst. It's my favorite Zelda game, but possibly my least favorite dungeon of any of them.
