  • 3V Gunny is just a thick geometry Gunny. Gunny Hunter is good only for hunting only when its angle is reduced to 30 degrees. Otherwise A2 Rampless Gunny is better even for hunting.

I purchased a Gunny Hunter 3V Impala Horn based on one of your initial reviews and I love the knife. I dressed 2 deer this year with it, and it worked flawlessly. I do not bone out meat in the field though like you do. I gut them and split the pelvis bone to remove entrails. The Gunny Hunter 3V was excellent at this splitting task, probably due to the thicker angle, so this is worth noting as a positive. It would also be a superior wood splitter in a survival situation if caught out in the woods overnight.
I use my Fallkniven F2 for butchering the deer at home.

I also like ramp for side holding. Laying thumb along side of ramp adds place and increases leverage.
Also looks cool like runway extension of aircraft carrier. Thanks for videos. they are the best!

Did you see that brkt just released a thinner bravo 1 LT or light model? Thinner CPM-3v blade. Wako, I thought of you and your purposes as soon as I saw it.

The grinding on sand paper motion shows the need for a drop point to be able to control the depth of the cut in hide to not drive the tip into muscle or guts.

Yes. Just a slight drop point differs largely from the flat spine in my opinion. It increases controllability around the tip much. Thanks.

As always, great video. Would you also say the A2 gunny is best for bushcraft? I don't hunt but am interested in checking out BRKT for a new bushcraft knife.

If you could only have one knife would it be the A2 ramp less gunny? What scales? Please do a video on it!

i have the gunny with ramp in A2. Rampless would be better. It can be bothersome in some ways. In general the wood scales are lighter than micarta and g10 is the heaviest. Wood handles also feel warmer in cold temperatures, but some woods can shrink or expand and also crack. I now have micarta, it has been very durable so far.

The handles of Bushcrafter and Aurora feel better to me than the Gunny handle which is a bit thinner than the others. But the Aurora blade is too pointy for hunting and the edge angle of Bushcrafter is very large over 40 degrees in my estimation. So I reground only the left side bevel of the Bushcrafter to reduce the angle to 30 to 35 degrees, and would love it better than A2 Gunny as an only one knife. I personally love wood scales aesthetically and for its warmness in winter. But I would love natural canvas micarta with green or black liners and black canvas micarta with red liners. Micarta has right weight and never shrinks nor bends nor cracks. Thanks.

I'm sure it well cut at 30 degrees inclusive, but chipping is the issue. How does it stand up to some abuse? That has always been the problem you've reported.

No. The blade of Bravo1 is too wide for quick turns for my specific deer dressing. Thanks.
