But movie producers are about who is the more popular or with more social media presence. Ex: Actress Sophie Turner was chosen over a more acclaimed Saoirse Ronan for X-Men Jean Grey role because of Turner's popularity and huge Instagram following. Its not about who could suit the role better but its about who can bring more people to the theatre and give them a huge box office.
Gillies voice is more pleasant. Her upper chest belting never sounds shouty like Gaga's does at times but it's always bright and resonant. Seems to have a better well rounded tone and clean technique that's why she never sounds shouty. Not hate on Lady Gaga she is a good and amazing singer but technically Gillies is better.
