as a 15 year old lgbt person i love how much representation there is in recent cartoons and kids shows showing children they can love who they want ! please have people react to cartoons with lgbt rep pls :)
Hearing him mention there was no clip that explained/talked about being ace I wish they included bojack horseman, Todd was ace and I think they explained that pretty well (I’m not asexual myself but I had never heard about it)
can y'all also do one for animated shows? some examples: legend of korra, the owl house, steven universse, adventure time, kipo and the age of wonderbeasts, etc
@@heehoo8429 yeah, they had a pride parade episode and oh my god, it was insane how many sexualities and gender identities were covered in it! it was great :)
@@MonyXChan my point was, the comments have been heavily requesting a reaction to ESC for weeks now and they keep posting reactions to everything but. The mention of Conchita was only to say if you have to talk about pride month etc can you please do it in connection to what the people are actually requesting. So not really about who should be in this particular video
As an Aro-Ace, I really appreciate Ryan pointing out that Aces need more representation in media! We truly are the more invisible group in the LGBTQ+ community.
Aside from Legends of Tomorrow (That I can recall) and a few I can't recall. Are there Ace of any degree in film or tv? I dont assume you know everything, but im no expert, i can comicbook most channels off the platform.
I know of 2 characters... Lillith from The Owl House, who's aroace. It's never explored in the show thought, the series creator simply said it... And in Bojack Horseman there's a man who's asexual and it's a whole arc. He also gets into an asexual relationship
I was in college in Michigan when we held a small candlelight vigil in the following days of Matthew Shepards passing. It deeply affected me, and sometimes I think its easy to forget when tragedy after tragedy keeps compounding on itself. How far, yet how little has progressed in some places.
I grew up watching Steven Universe on CN Arabic but unfortunately the dubbed version to Arabic mentioned nothing about the LGBTQ+ identity in that show.
How can u guys say you're having them react to the most impactful LGBTQ moments on tv in history and not include glee??? PLEASE PLEASE react to that show. It changed millions of peoples lives and helped millions of LGBTQ kids around the world so much, i literally cannot put it into words
you can also React to Disneys The Owl House animated series. They're really doing a great job representing and normalizing LGBTQ+ community in animated shows.
What about glee? I was waiting the whole time for you to react to Kurt Hummel and his dad :( Please don't forget about that show next time, it's one of the most, if not the most, impactful shows in the world for the LGBTQ community, especially teens. What Glee showed and did was something that was never done before. They did an amazing job of representation for this community, you should really be reacting to them as well. Thanks! :)
Burt Hummel's reaction to Kurt coming out to him was utterly adorable and watching him also confront Kurt's bullies at the school was amazing. He is one of the best parents in that show
Next, we need one for animation. I would like to submit the final moments of the series finale of The Legend of Korra, aired in 2014. While nothing was said and no kiss occurred (like at the end of Avatar: The Last Airbender), the look that Korra and Asami give each other as they're holding hands says it all, and it wasn't something that was just added for virtue signaling. It was built up over three seasons--a look here, a reaction there, a moment. That moment was a major stepping stone for LGBTQ representation in animation (rhyme not intended).
whatever hurtful things ellen did was wrong but she's truly having an impact in many moments, after all those negative statement came out, everyone just "straight up" hating on her like shes a burden
Yes, everyone just straight up started hating her as if she was the devil. They completely forgot about all of the great things she has done. And all that even though the internal investigation proved, she had nothing to do with the toxic work environment on her show.
@@potterpenguin7285 its not just that people said she was rude sometimes too and its still her show and she supported horrible people as much good she has done she still and to be taken accountable of the bad too in a way
You guys need to have people react to LGBTQ+ cartoons! There are so many out there that are impacting people who are out and who are still in the closet. There are so many kids cartoons, we have Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Steven Universe, Kipo and the wonder beasts. There are countless ones out there
I never would have accepted my sexuality and gone and found my boyfriend if it wasn’t for the coming out episode in Glee, huge moment in TV for coming out to parents.
I liked the clips you used, and while maybe not as iconic as these, I was maybe hoping for Dominique Jackson’s scene in Pose (or really anything from Pose). It’s a great show telling a great story with great actors and a very diverse cast.

Since its Pride month, you should have them react to Commander Lexa's impact. Her death sparked a movement unlike anything anyone has ever seen. Not only is Lexa an iconic character in the LGBTQIA+ community, but her legacy is still going strong even today.
Would have loved to see the scene where burt stood up for Kurt in glee, they were diverse but there was something about that scene, I could have cried he deserved an award for it.
This was incredible! As a person who is very passionate about representation, this made my heart warm. Would have loved to see Pose on this, but I guess you can't have everything.
